Reviews for Tarpon Landing Marina
Smaller marina that is great for small boats, 2015-12-20
Captain: , Forked river nj (330)

Very small marina on the not busy side of tarpon springs. Many stop here beacuse of the on propertry tiki bar and restaurant. I would recceomend trying to be on theother side of ancolte river for a better night life.

Cheap and close to shopping., 2014-09-22
Captain: , High Springs, FL (848)

We stayed for two nights. Came in after dark/closing and received docking instructions over the phone before we arrived. Nice fixed dock right off the tiki bar/grill. No frills. No shower or restroom that I was made aware of. Got a good meal and was able to walk over the bridge to explore the sponge docks.

Total bill was $141 for 2 nights on a 40' boat with a Boat US discount. Had the diesel price been slightly more competative I would have taken on 300 gallons there but the $0.25 per gallon price difference had us travel around the corner to another marina.

Wrong turn!, 2014-05-16
Captain: , Galveston, TX (599)

Just heading over for a pump out. Received questionable directions and ran aground south of marker 51. Spent the next 45 minutes gotting off shoal then turned around and headed south. From the looks of the chart and Google Earth, hug the south side up to the bridge and turn left. Feel your way in at a slow bell. Markers 51 and 53 are only there for decoration! There is a long northeast-southwest shoal that's about 4 feet at HIGH water, south of the markers.

Tarpon Landing pier next to old Pappas restaurant, 2013-03-18
Captain: , Panama City, FL (429)

While Tarpon Landing Marina is across the river from the sponge dock tourist district, they have apparently leased or bought the 100-foot alongside tie pier right next to the old Pappas restaurant, which is now a couple of touristy eateries. No showers, laundry, or pump out here, but OK for a couple of Grand Banks 42s for two nights. We can lock our pier gate at night, and our wives can step right out onto the shopping streets. $1.75/foot.

Great Food, 2012-04-30
Captain: , Punta Gorda FL (1709)

Stayed here for 2 nights mid april. Marina restaurant great burgers and chicken. Just over the bridge 40 cent oysters and $1 beer. Broiled octupus at Mama's is the best in town. Great cigar maker two blocks west from Mama's in the square. Not a cuban but not bad either with sipping rum. Try the Mone Cristos. Be careful at G53. Saw 5' close to mark at mid tide. Stay mid channel. Gas dock to tight but good water. Staff very helpful. Locals are lots of fun and beer flows easily from coolers.

The second closest marina to the tourist area of town, 2012-03-15
Captain: , Jacksonville, Fl (525)

The marina is across the river from the city marina and next to the bridge. We were not bothered by bridge noise after about 10:00 PM. The single shower is adaquate but nothing to write home about. There is no laundry facility at the marina.

Having said all that the marina staff are very accomidating and the management is planing to make improvements.

In shoirt,If you do not need a fancy shower or laundry this is the best value anywhere close to the town. The restaurant is very good and both Publix and West Marine are 1 mile away

OK, not great, 2012-01-25
Captain: , Edenton, NC (887)

Wanted to visit town dock but our 16ft beam was too wide, so tried Tarpon Landing. First slip had one leg of the 50amp power dead and dock had a decided list. Moved and got better power. Staff is friendly and helpful, but this marina is mostly not set up for transients, showers, laundry etc. That said, if you want to be close to spongedocks area, Tarpon Landing is your best bet on the north shore of the river. CAPT Jack's bar made surprisingly little noise.

Good Marina, 2011-12-25
Captain: , Jacksonville, FL (822)

Stay on the floating docks, great location. Dale(dockmaster) is very helpful.

Nice people, good local food, spartan bathroom facilities, 2011-06-05
Captain: , Wanakena, NY (759)

Great Greek food at sponge docks. Staff was very helpful. Now have 50 amp. Bathroom is small room with shower only and another small room with sink and toilet. Not airconditioned. Shared with work staff. Bathrooms avialable 8 to 5PM...then use public restrooms (no shower) at adjoining restaurant..close at 11PM or so.
VHF for final navigation.
Rates are now $1.75, 10% US Boat discount.

Captain: , Channel Islands, California (1149)

This marina has the best staff of any marina we have visited so far. They were extremely friendly and helpful. They have all the services you could want and there is a really good restaurant on site. Only a short walk to the Sponge Docks and there are several grocery stores and just about any other service a cruiser could want within walking distance or biking distance. The place may not look 5-star, but it sure has the feel of it. I know they are working on permits to fix the place up a bit, but if they do, I hope they don't change their level of service. Excellent spot. I would stay there again.

Very Convenient Location - Great Folks Running Marina, 2011-01-05
Captain: , Cleveland (2083)

The municipal dock right across the river was full so we came here. The people running the marina are really great - very knowledgeable about the area. Short walk across the bridge to the sponge docks with tons of restaurants (Greek and seafood). Very fun place!

It was nice to be at floating dock for a change - sort of wobbly but it was not a major problem. Little to no traffic. Plenty of water - come in past the last green and up along the bridge.

Convenient to Town, 2010-12-24
Captain: , Aquia Harbour, VA (1177)

The marina is a short walk across the bridge to the Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks, city marina and numerous Greek eateries and shops. It was the only marina in the downtown area that could accommodate our 16' beam. We are at an alongside dock. Friendly staff.

Nice place to stop, 2009-12-28
Captain: , Melbourne Florida (4616)

left the boat here while we visited family for Christmas......all places here were $1.50 a foot....nice place to eat too.....easy to get rental car from Enterprise

Not necessarily 50 amp power, 2009-05-28
Captain: , Captiva (173)

We stayed one night and were unable to use their power. They say they have 50 amps but you need a splitter to go from two 25 amps at the power tower. We got very little help from the dock workers, but as others have said, it is very convenient to walk across the bridge to the town. The dog park is a short walk away It's free and very nice.

Great Food, 2009-05-28
Captain: , Tampa Bay (322)

Right on the river, not much boat traffic in this area

Tarpon Springs City Marina, 2009-02-19
Captain: , Whitehall, Mi (1754)

Perfect stop to visit the tourist area.

Management orgainization could have been a little better, but no worse than a lot of other marinas.

Tarpon Springs, 2008-12-26
Captain: , Houma, LA (417)

The city marina was booked, so we stayed here Nov. 2008. It is within walking distance to town, and the staff was helpfull. The docks are ok, and well protected. We enjoyed our two night stay, and will go back. This is not a fancy marina, but a good place to dock to experience Tarpon Springs.

Still not as advertised, 2008-11-27
Captain: , Prior Lake, MN (14)

Although we had electricity and water at the fixed dock, as of 11/30/08 there are no available showers or even bathrooms. The cruising guide said they had wifi and cable. Nope. But it is close to the famous Tarpon Springs waterfront area. Also, we found the restaurant next door (Captain Jacks) to be excellent food at a great price. The marina charge was $1.50/ft plus electricity
