Reviews for Tarbert Marina
Great Spot, 2014-07-14
Captain: , Conwy, N. Wales (13850)

Tarbert is a wonderfully sheltered natural harbour, with an active fishing fleet and some great restaurants. The Starfish is especially good - doesn't look great from the outside, but the interior is smart and the food is fabulous! The marina facilities are perfectly good though looking a bit old and tired, but everything is clean and works. They have recently expanded the number of pontoons in the marina, and are planning to expand again soon - perhaps a re-vamp of the facilities at the same time would be nice.

Continuing the conversation about the view from the castle - I wouldn't say it quite stretches to staggering, but it's very beautiful and is well worth the trek up the hill!

A lovely place, 2013-09-20

Very good sheltered harbour with an interesting approach! Can get busy in summer but is well woth a visit with some nice places to eat. Showers good and wifi available. Get there before the harbourmaster leaves (which can be quite early some days) as you get a 'free' electricity card with your fees. You can buy cards from m/c near office.

Tarbert's bomb proof harbour, 2013-08-22

VERY well sheltered, and cute old town.
Agree with comments above on marina, and good provisioning stores
Anchor Hotel, at head of harbour, has great food.
Hiking OK, but I would not call the view from the castle "staggering"
It is the centre for the Clyde Cruising Club's Scottish Series, early in summer, which takes over the harbout. Check the club site www.Clyde.org for dates

Spectacular Harbour in an amazing setting. Walked up to the castle for a staggering view. Loads of character, yet plenty of places to eat etc. Can't praise it highly enough.
