Reviews for Sweden Point Marina
If we had the info we would have stopped., 2017-09-14

Our phone call was answered immediately. All docks look new.
Being a state park its has alot to offer. $1.00 / ft. Check out their web site.

Slips too small, 2016-10-08
Captain: , Pearl Harbor, HI (703)

When I called looking for a transient slip, I was told that most slips were 13' wide but I could try the bulwark where the crab boats tie up. The bulwark, while a floating dock, was little used as it was covered with seagulls and their droppings. There were two power pedestals with water hookup. One had no water and the other one's water hookup had NPT connection so hose thread did not work. I will not be back.

Nice Facility with floating docks, 2015-06-03
Captain: , Neabsco Creek, VA (251)

This is a really nice facility with all floating docks that is very underused. Only a handful of boats are in wet slips here. There's a small store and fuel just outside the marina near the ramps. Except for the busiest weekend days, this is a very nice facility with no noise and little usage. It's location up the creek from the main Potomac also makes for a very calm anchorage away from the traffic and the wave action on the river.

Decent stopover, 2014-06-19
Captain: , North Charleston, SC (752)

I don't understand the comment about the locked gate and not being able to go ashore. Pay for a slip and they give you the code to the lock. That seems pretty normal to me and security can be nice in a public place.

Price was $1.00 per foot plus $5 for electricity. The transient docks are relatively new concrete floating docks with full length finger piers. The office has hot and cold snacks, drinks and ice. The heads and showers are tiled and clean.

The downside - there isn't much. No docking assistance, the person in charge had no map or idea of which slips were where so you have to look on the electrical pedestals to find your assigned slip. They are hard to read from the fairway.

If you are in the area and looking for a stopover, I would recommend it.

Getting Better, 2010-07-24
Captain: , Washington DC (105)

Go to the fuel dock, a floating T-head at the end of about 100' pier for no locked gates. This is a really nice facility, it caters to the bass boat tournaments with three huge launching ramps and generous dock space. Definitly gasoline, not sure if diesel was available as I didn't think to look. The general store has ice, maps, snacks, fishing gear and friendly staff.

Pets ARE allowed as of 4/2010, just clean up after them. It is a trash-free facility like most MD parks so you can't unload everything.

Public bathrooms were clean. Take a moment to walk across the footbridge to the right as you get off the dock, it crosses a gorgeous bog with lots of wildlife.

Bad Weeds, 2009-06-27
Captain: , Edenton NC (335)

Nice facility, but bad weeds inside. Also a locked gate at the head of the pier....can't get ashore here. At the boat launch ramp is much better for walking dogs. But stay on outside dinghy ramp...lots of weeds inside. Good grassy area for dogs. No trash containers ashore.
