Reviews for Swan Boat Club
first class club go back any time, 2012-09-01
Captain: , Racine WI (550)

stayed here several times in 2011 - very pleased - great people - good bar - happy hour unbelievably cheap - fast food ok but Friday night steak night is terrific - had some low voltage problems on one leg of dock but not too serious - well protected - not too many overhead wires so birds like my railings - took a few hours to clean

Returned again this year - still fabulous - new sandbar between #1 and #2 entrance markers - I was advised that it can be avoided by bypassing #1 and #2 and shooting for the detroit light from #3 and #4

I have now had a chance to check that channel myself. Lake Eriehas been low this August and if the wind is from the west which it usually is the entrance to Swan changes and can be very tricky.

I made it with my 38 by running outside of the red post markers (that would be tight but just north of the marker) starting at #10 - the channel is still there but has shifted. Call the club ahead if you are trying on a day with west wind. It is absolutely worth the effort.
