Reviews for Surfside Marina
Very Convenient Stop, 2016-04-17
Captain: , Rockport, tx (154)

This is a first class facility. Great floating docks. The staff are supper friendly and helpful. (The service manager took my alternators to the repair shop and retreived them the next day.) The showers are top notch and the ship's store even has a snack bar. And, is is a short walk to the beach.

On top of all that, they havve diesel at the slip. The only drawback is: no pump-out

Good ICW Stop, 2015-09-23
Captain: , Kemah, TX (234)

We stayed on 9/22/2015. Currents gooing in can be rough, but once docked expect great service from the staff and as the review stated, is a power bboat marina, but they are friendly to sailboats. Fuel at the dock, ice and filtered water. On site store has basic provisions, but the restaurant across the street was excellent. Wake from the ICW was minimal and didn't wake us once. Would definately stay here again.

Excellent transient marina, 2015-08-30
Captain: , League City (182)

Stayed here on 8/10/2015 and 8/20/2015. Despite being mainly a fishing boat marina, we, in our sailboat, received outstanding service from marina staff. Modern, clean facilities and a nice ships store. The gas was cheap and the reverse osmosis filtered dock water was excellent. Within walking distance from Surfside Beach and several excellent restraraunts. Some wake from the ICW but it was minimal after sundown.

Great Marina! Friendly Bunch!, 2015-08-23

We stayed here on our way from Clear Lake Shore to Fulton Harbor. Great little store, clean showers, fuel at the transient slips, and really nice people. I enjoyed our stay here and thought it was more than worth the $$. We got free ice too!

Great Service, 2014-10-20
Captain: , Houston Texas (30)

We stopped here on our way up the ICW from the 2014 Harvest Moon. We had reservations at another marina, but when we got close they said they had too little water for us to get in. We got in touch with Sean (the night manager that night) and he made room for us, met us on the dock, helped us tie up , and recommended a couple of restaraunts. He even picked us up in the cart to fill a jerry can and returned us to our slip. The next morning the morning manager gave one of my crew the keys to his van so my crew could make a coffee and breaffast taco run. Really great customer service, plus clean restrooms and showers!

Professional, Pleasant Marina, 2014-07-02
Captain: , Houston TX (102)

We stayed over after a rough sail down from Clear Lake. We arrived after dark and Mark (Night Manager) was on the pier to meet us and help with the dock lines. Its just a short walk to a couple of restaurants.

We ended up here a second time, diesel trouble. The staff was extremely helpful and had a mechanic on standby if we needed help. Turned out the problem was plugged fuel filters so no assistance was required.

Super Marina with Super People!, 2014-04-17
Captain: , George West (80)

After a rough few days out, this was a nice place to be. Stayed for a few nights waiting on the next weather window. The best shower facilities and store. Friendly staff always there when you needed them, 24 hrs. I recommend this marina to all who pass their way. Oh, and Napa Auto Parts will deliver to your boat if you need them to.

Well maintained marina with an excellent staff. You won't be disappointed.

Great Staff on this stop over., 2013-06-20
Captain: , Corpus Christi (240)

Weather kept us here for 2 days. The staff was excellent, coming to the boat to see if we needed anything.

Ships store was limited but we were told the security personnel could get us in if we needed anything after hours.

Purchased fuel here because it was so easy with the fuel line being brought to our slip.

Great showers.

The only downside is this is righton the ICW and both boat an tow traffic did cause some rolling, though not enough for us to consider it an issue.

Good Overnight Stop, 2013-05-25
Captain: , Corpus Christi, TX (702)

Primarily a dry-stack facility with a few slips right on the ICW. No pumpout or washer-dryer, but great clean shower/restrooms and very friendly & helpful staff. We have stayed here before, and will again.

Nice overnight stay, 2013-04-08

We stopped to fuel and rest for the night and this marina was perfect. Fuel dock well located with great and accomodating staff. Bar/Restaurant walking distance.
We would not stay for more then a day or two with kids.

Fisherman's Marina in Freeport, 2012-04-27
Captain: , Clear Lake Shores (135)

We stopped for an overnight slip Southwest bound on the ICW. Great location right off the ICW. Relatively small but several transient slips available. Staff was very accommodating, friendly, and helpful. 30amp power, water, and great shower facilities (very clean). Fairly well stocked ship's store. Access to the floating docks can be very tricky. Limited restaurant options nearby. Although the burgers were very good, I would recommend trying something other than Castaway.

Great Service, 2012-03-04
Captain: , Port Isabel TX (640)

Fuel and a slip for the night. High $$, but they really go all out to welcome you. Park your boat and the fuel pumps have a long enough hose to reach from one end of the slips to the other. Small convenience store that the security guard will open up for you after hours. He will also take you to a local restaurant. Dock as far in from the ICW as possible to minimize wakes, not from the tows, but from the local boaters. A great place to spend the night.

Wonderful Rest Stop, 2011-12-16
Captain: , St Augustine, Fl (452)

After a long trip east on the ICW this marina was great. Help at dock to assist in mooring. New and Clean restrooms and showers. AS the others have said mostly large power fishing boats. but very friendly staff towards a 30 foot sailboat. Would stay here againg at $50 though is about right. Also the night watchman drove us to a food store and offered to drive us to a restuarent drop us off and return to pick us up

Very nice, 2011-05-28
Captain: , Seabrook, TX (68)

Top quality well maintained facility. The staff even drove us to a local restaraunt to eat. Transient fee was $1.60 per foot. They welcome sailboats even though they mainly cater to the sport fishing crowd. Deep harbor about 17 feet at entrance. The only negative is that there is no break water to protect from wakes, but it was not a major issue.

Great spot for this area., 2009-06-16
Captain: , St. Augustine, FL (175)

We were the only sailboats here when we stayed, but were welcomed and liked the slips. There was a current in the ICW that made things interesting, but other than that, a very easy entry,

The showers/ head are country club quality.

A great stopever in my opinion, and the many dolphins were a pleasant surprise.

Brand new state of the art marina, 2008-10-22
Captain: , Houston, TX (1409)

Brand new, very nice but expensive at $2.00/ft. transient rates. Great facility and ships store, floating piers, nice people.
