Seasonal

Additional info: May 15 to October 15

Approach

From UD4 (QR) at Chambers Point, steer 240M for 1 mile until you reach UD4.2 (FlR) at the end of the channel then stay in the middle of the channel. After you make the turn to port, keep the last green at the turn on your stern while making for the small red buoy just outside the marina. Leave this well to starboard as it warns of rocks! Slightly favour the east side. LWS tides here are quite pronounced, with a range of 8 feet. At LWS there is only about two feet of water in the channel. Most vessels with a 5 foot draft or less will safely pass when the tide is 2 1/2 hours from low. All vessels may enter at half-tide or better. The bottom is soft sand or mud and won't damage your boat should you touch.

Reviews for Sunrise Shore Marina and Cottages
Sunrise Shore Marina, 2016-07-28
Captain: , Barrachois Harbour NS, Canada (2472)

(Review from 2010)
Sunrise Shore Marina is well-situated (31miles SSW of Charlottetown PEI and 34 miles WNW of Pictou NS.

Mosquito netting is not a luxury here.

Limited facilites on-site, village of Tatamagouche is about 3 miles away. Due to the swing-arm construction, massive breakwater and a 90-degree turn after entry, this is an EXCEPTIONAL hurricane hole (Gustav 2002 and Juan 2003) marina was unscathed and vessels suffered negligible damage. (Two powerboats lost canvas and 1 sailboat had it's roller-furling jib shredded.)

(UPDATE 2016)
Dock flotation is not as robust as it once was. Two adults on the finger at one tiime will likely sink the dock to the boards.
Dock edging/corners for visiting boats is not provided, extreme care on the part of the skipper and fenders to the waterline are a MUST.

Another well kept secret, 2014-08-14
Captain: , Cocagne Cape (60)

Very friendly and helpful people, small marina, with fuel, showers, laundry, washrooms, power, rental cottages. Travel lift is also available here up to 18,000 lbs. Warm waters for swimming, but not a lot of water in the channel at low tide, so plan your arrivals and departures accordingly. Great bay to anchor in, and very well protected from most winds.
