Reviews for Sucia Island Marine State Park
Eco Bay/storms, 2016-05-14
Captain: , Whittier Alaska (609)

I can see why this is the jewel of the Washington State Marine Park. We tied up to the lineal tie up. This place turned from a nice spot to boat running here to escape the small craft advisory. We were rocking pretty good. The trails on the Island are a blast and fossil Bay was also packed. This seems to be the place to party during the summer months, but early summer/late spring this place is awesome.

We took a nice walk down the shoreline of Fossil Cove and saw...lots of fossils in the rocks.

Sucia is one of the most popular sites in the San Juan Islands. Arrive early if you hope to secure a mooring bouy. Good anchorage as well.
There is an active program to restore marine plants near the Echo Bay mooring field and anchoring in this area is not allowed.

One of the great places to go in the San Juans, we find something new every time we visit. Extensive trail network and lot's of anchorages.

Dock space available on a first come basis, quite a few mooring balls ($10/night in 07). Beautiful area, nice hiking on shore.
