Reviews for Stuart Yacht
Hidden Gem, 2016-07-27
Captain: , Englewood, FL (905)

We never would have found this place. A potential buyer who wanted to see our boat recommended it. Gregg let us stay 2 nights for free to show the boat. We enjoyed the winding trip up the river - no problem with our 4.5 ft draft. We were amazed at the fine work this yard does. We wouldn't hesitate to bring our boat here for repairs or upgrades.

the best we've met!, 2016-06-25
Captain: , CHARLESTON (330)

We had to have some extensive repairs and I cannot say enough about this boatyard. Honest, knowledgeable and a joy to deal with!

Professional and Accomodating, 2016-04-23

Limited space but worth the effort to go there, especially if you need any type of repair. Staff is friendly, helpful, very knowledgeable with expertise in building and commissioning some very nice yachts.

Gregg Burdick is experienced and professional. His company does top quality work a very reasonable prices. His honesty and problem solving ability are a welcome change from some other boatyards.

A yard of high integrity, 2014-05-08
Captain: , Naples FL (20)

I run a 63 ft motoryacht and have had work done at this yard for over 20 years, from haul outs to remodeling. The work has met my expectations in quality work and Gregg Burdick's ability to think out of the box has been very beneficial in solving challenges (there are no problems on a boat). This is the only yard that I have been in, that I consider to be honest in there charges, no excessive add on fees for parts or outside work. The employees are knowledgeable and excellent craftsman.

great service, 2014-01-19

Greg and Nancy the owners run a fine operation. Greg is a well qualified very experienced boat expert. They can do most any job. Just completed a bottom job and transducer installation on time and on budget. Must pay with cash or check no credit cards here. Very reasonable dockage, totally protected, good water and power. A mile to Publix , enterprise will pick u up. Nice safe neighborhood for walking and biking, great kayaking area. A bit off the ICW but great for what is here. Owners live at the Marina.

Excellent Boat Yard, 2013-12-19
Captain: , Winnipeg, MB Canada (10)

We recently had some fiberglass work done and we were extremely happy with results. The owners Gregg and Nancy Burdick accommodated our every need and when the bill arrived it was less than their original estimate. We also had new 8D batteries installed for our bow thruster and they purchased and installed them at a very reasonable price. The staff we had dealings with including both Marks and Mathew where extremely professional and talented. I would highly recommend having work done at this boat yard.

Very accomodating management, 2013-05-04
Captain: , Wilmington DE (782)

We just had our 48' boat hauled here for a new transducer, prop tune up and zincs. Gregg was very accomodating and I think fairly priced. They were happy to install my spare zincs, and worked around severe weather delays that forced Gregg to make several U-turns with the travel lift.... a not insignificant issue given the small space in the work yard. There were many large high dollar boats getting work done. I'd have no problems going back. They allow outside labor so long as they are insured.

Be sure to get directions from the river to the yard to avoid shallow water.

Happy to Return, 2013-03-02
Captain: , Halifax, N.S. (50)

My wife and I purchased a 41' power boat in December and had the survey done at SYS. We were pretty happy with the folks at the yard and their attitude, so we elected to leave the boat there for a couple of months until we could get back. Over that period, we had some work done on the boat, all of which was done well and very fairly priced. We also had the yard price supplying some equipment, and found their prices were lower than West Marine. As a bonus, Gregg will be happy to share his considerable knowledge of classic motor yachts at any time.

First Class Facility and Work, 2012-12-13
Captain: , Cape Coral, FL (1476)

We've had Stuart Yacht work on our boat two times, the first time when we bought it in January 2011, the second time in November 2012 after a 5,300 mile journey, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. We're located on the west coast of Florida but choose to have work done at Stuart Yacht because we know the work will be completed to our satisfaction. We had estimates up front, the work was scheduled in advance and done on time. When we ran into a problem with a bad set of new props (provided by us, not by the yard), the yard upended their schedule to get a new set of props installed so that we could get underway with minimal delay. We asked the owner about the bad review seen here on Active Captain and received a more than satisfactory answer explaining the whole story. Bottom line, this is a very good yard with a great reputation and I strongly recommend them.

Avoid if you can, 2012-06-26
Captain: , Dover DE (145)

After spending 2.5 months at Stuart Yard, all I can say is the whole experience was extremely frustrating start to finish. If you want estimates for the cost of the work to be done, good luck in getting them. We struggled with communication issues, getting kicked off the work schedule at whim and too many assumptions to even begin to figure them all out. Not a favorable experience for us or others who were there as well. We'll take our business elsewhere.
