Reviews for Stone Harbor Marina
close to downtown, 2017-09-09

great location clean washrooms floating dock
staff is a little confused at times need more organization
great food shopping nearby.
Still the same 3 years later, and chances of a dock hand is slim to none
be prepaired to dock on your own, well protected from wind.I have a 50 ft and had no problem. Sonny's pizza is just across bridge great food.
Cost per night $61 cash for 50 ft.

Just blocks to everything, 2015-06-23

Nice accommodations with public restrooms (city maintained and clean). We did the Steel Bridge music festival from 6/12 thru 6/15. Shake dice at the local BP for coffee. The Corner cafe has the best breakfast at the fairest prices - fast too. Kitty O'Riley's has the best Bloody Mary in the world. Museum, shopping, bars, restaurants, use of Stone Harbor pools, etc... Just a nice place to spend a few days.

Close to the best side of town, 2014-09-05

Marina is on the east side of the channel, just before the bridge. Patti at the front desk was very nice, but you are on your own to get settled in. There were a number of people on the dock to help us since it was pretty windy.

Walking distance to a number of places to eat. Since it is after Labor day, the Tiki bar is only open on the weekends.

Only downside is that the bridge is right next door, so you hear the horn every 1/2 hour. No reall traffic after 7 PM.

Make sure you check out the Yacht place across the bridge to see the latest super Yacht in progress!

Nice but a little disappointing, 2014-08-21

When we called for slip the person answering the phone told us the wrong side of the channel. First time into Sturgeon Bay it lead to some confusion. When we got into the marina and found our slip dock attendants never noticed us come in while he was a slip away. No help until hailed verbally then they came running. Apologized the rest of the stay. Marina only takes cash or check. The Bathrooms are the public toilets and are not secured, anybody can walk in while you are in the shower.
There is a resturant and Tiki Bar right off the marina, food was OK but seemed for this midwesterner a bit pricey.

Perfect location, close to town. Tiki bar & restaurant on site. Allowed to use the pool, hot tub & sauna in the resort. One of our favorite stops. Phone number listed is wrong. Must call 920 746 2914

Can't beat the location, 2014-07-29

We've stayed here over the 4th of July on our Four Wnns. Close to everything. Band was great, we sat on the bow and could hear them perfectly. Nice tiki bar.
Bath facilities are open to the public as well as the marina itself.
Walking distance to all of downtown Sturgeon Bay.
Small grocery store two blocks away with a good liquor selection.
We will stay here again!

Great facility but understaffed marina, 2013-09-03

Stayed over Labor Day 2 nights. Great location and docks. Poor over-worked and understaffed city employees, often 1 person covering this and another city launch site 1/2 mile away + maintenance duties, means you're more or less on your own. Courteous hotel management, who will take your cash or check payment to forward to the city, try to be helpful, but no one could tell me what time checkout was - we were told noon but some rude boaters got there earlier and insisted we leave immediately! Fortunately, a city worker showed up and the complaining boat ended up moving to another dock which had 30 amp service (some slips, including ours, only had 50 amp but I had a second cord), and bragged about their "free" (someone paid for 2 days but only stayed for 1) slip. We loved the Sunday afteroon band by the Tiki Hut where lots of dingies and smaller boats came to enjoy, and everyone else was very friendly and extremely helpful. You also get to use the resort's pool, spa and several shower areas, and their restaurant and lounge are quite good and there are tons of others close by on both sides of the famous old restored steel bridge. Lots to do within walking distance, including a great maritime museum. We will go here again.

Nice Looking Marina, 2013-01-19

We stayed a couple days in Stone Harbor in 2010 to avoid gale force winds. It is ideally located in relation to Downtown Sturgeon Bay but is a very basic and small marina. There was no staff onsite when we were there. We did enjoy using the pool and sauna but later relized we probably weren't supposed to. There's an indoor and outdoor bar on location as well as an nice restaurant.

Nice surroundings and close to town., 2010-09-14

Despite the name, the Stone Harbor marina has nothing to do with the Stone Harbor Resort which it sits in front of. It's run by Bay Marine. The statements on the Bay Marine web site that the resort has in indoor heated pool and fitness center are just can't use them! And the statement on the Stone Harbor Resort web site that they have a 21 slip marina is just wrong. It's all very misleading.

However, the marina is well built and in good condition. The bathrooms could use some help. It's near downtown, so that's nice. There's an Ace hardware store just a few blocks away and thankfully there are several barber shops (for me) and hair salons (for Sue) nearby, as we both need a GOOD haircut.

Note that it's shallow. We're in slip 2, right by the break wall and are pretty much touching bottom and we draw 5.5'. We checked before coming in and they said "no problem". Yeah...The slips by land appear to be even shallower.

Not to sound too negative, this is one of the nicest looking marinas we've been at in a while due to the resort's lanscaping.
