Reviews for Stock Island Marina Village
Nice marina but we had some issues, 2016-08-01
Captain: , High Springs, FL (687)

We stayed at this location as they are a sponsor and we didn't want to be anywhere near downtown during mini season.

The docks were nice and the wifi was good. The staff was very nice.

Our slip had twin 50's but only one breaker worked. I wound up having to manage my power all night ling with twin 30's adapted to a 50amp. Unfortunately, this power load toasted my splitter.

The only reason I'm giving this rating 3 stars instead of more is the fact that the shuttle forgot us at Publix. This normally would not have been a big deal but when 11PM rolls around and you have a wife and 2 kids with you (who are under 11) it's a bit of an issue. We called a cab and were refunded the cost though.

Diesel price was great but plan ahead. We took on 220 gallons but they are fueling out of a truck. The boat ahead of me took 1400 and they were running low.

Nice marina and staff with all floating docks, 2016-07-23
Captain: , Kemah, TX (150)

I spent two months here. The staff is friendly and nice and we felt secure having the boat on the floating docks. Alot of peole complained of dirt because they are building a hotel at the entry of the marina, but we didn't see it on C dock. Only downside is the gate access is by a garage door style remote and trying to get one while you're rent car is outside means a long walk to the marina office. Best to find a dock neighbor with one you can call to let you in after hours. Parking is not great, first come first serve and I think a lot of people will have to park outside the gate eventually. Also wifi didn't seem to work well for us and I have a booster. Really in all a nice marina, secure location and easy entrace in and out. You can easily get out to Westerrn Sambo Reef in an hour also. A bit of a ride into town but for leaving a boat longer term in key west, hard to beat. Hoping to come back for winter when it's a bit cooler!

Good, safe and well protected, 2016-07-21
Captain: , Ft. Lauderdale (264)

The only reason I would maybe put it down to a 4 star is the distance from town, but they do have a shuttle, but it has limited run times. Well run and friendly, just not as nice scenery from dock as in town.
Diesel fuel at $2.59/gal with 6% discount for over 100gal. Best price in area.

Nice place to stay and relax, 2016-07-11
Captain: , Gulfport, MS (10)

This was my first time staying here, (stayed a month). It was exactly what I wanted. It was quiet, no drama, very safe. Very nice and helpful office staff. They knew who I was and always greeted me when they saw me. If I had a question that they didn't have a ready answer for, they found the answer and made sure it was passed on to me. The young employees helping out at the slips were eager to help in any way they could. The locals that live aboard were friendly and helpful too. Had some very nice conversations. I really enjoyed the ease of getting to the Hawk Channel. And the availability of the shuttle 5x per day was great! Clean and nice facilities. They made it easy to enjoy Key West and the surrounding area. I'll be back that's for sure.

nice but pricey, 2016-06-07
Captain: , Lakeview Park Marina Windsor ON (366)

this is a very well run facility with a good shuttle to KW but it's pricey. my guess is no more so than any other marina in the area.

A Wonderful Place to Enjoy Key West, 2016-05-28
Captain: , Corpus Christi, TX (106)

We have stayed a Stock Island Marina several times over the past three years. We spend a week here in April before going to the Bahamas and have returned to spend a few more weeks. The facilities are excellent and the staff is very friendly and helpful. It was nice to hear John%u2019s voice on the radio when we arrived here last week. I knew he would be ready to help us tie up at the dock. The shuttle to downtown allows us to easily go to and from downtown Key West. The shuttle staff is very courteous and helpful. We also enjoy relaxing at the marina and meeting the other boaters and residents.

Helpful Staff, 2016-05-10
Captain: , Southampton, England (30)

We arrived here from Belize. Its the most we have ever paid for a marina in a long time, but seems to be par for KW. It has easy access and is a good stop for arrival in the US from abroad. It is convenient for checking in at the airport, has good laundry facilities and the free shuttle bus makes for easy access to the local Publix and for trips into town. The staff are very helpful and make an effort to make your stay as easy as possible. All in all, an enjoyable and effective first stop in the USA from the south.

Great Support, 2016-05-03
Captain: , Oxford, md (10)

We spent 4 nights there - had only planed on three. Weather, a mechanical issue, and sea sickness brought us back for the 4th night. The staff, especially John at the fuel dock (and many other areas) could not have been nicer or more helpful. He checked up on us several times to see if the mechanical problem was resolved and to find out if my wife was feeling better. John again checked up on us the next morning before we left. The restrooms were kept clean and the clubhouse was fantastic.

Great place. Pet friendly, 2016-04-15
Captain: , Norfolk, VA (100)

Had to do a emergency stop when my girlfriend got hurt and needed medical help at the hospital. Location very close to Hospital. Staff was very helpfull and even arranged a ride. We stayed longer than planned. The facilities are very nice. My dog enjoyed the dog park. The little Tiki bar was fun with a bonfire. Took the FREE shuttle into Key West. Will stop at the Publics if needed. Beats fighting the madness downtown. Making plans to stop here again when in the Key West area. :-)

Excellent Service!, 2016-04-12
Captain: , Gulfport Small Craft Harbor, MS (168)

transient at NAS Bayou Chica Marina but have to fuel up on Stock Island. Was also here for fuel June 2015. very nice fuel dock and very easy in and out. Jordan at the fuel dock was a great help.

Very Accommodating, 2016-03-31
Captain: , Houston (130)

Originally scheduled to go into the Westin - we arranged to come in early due to weather and hold up 3 days at Stock Island and visit with our friends staying there. The weather chose not to cooperate and it was not a prudent decision to go to the Westin. We were lucky enought to stay. The staff (Ashley and her team) were very accommodating. No amenities is disappointing, however, hopefully they will upgrade and at minimum have a pool available.

2016 Winter - great place to spend the winter, 2016-03-22
Captain: , Rock Hall MD (10)

Had a great stay at Stock Island Marina Village. Easy access to Key West by marina shuttle. Shrimp box restaurant very convient for lunch and dinner. Staff is great and very dog friendly.

First Class Marina in Stock Island!!!, 2016-03-07
Captain: , Miami (40)

After 40 years of docking in the Key West Bight, we were part of a large Rendezvous that could not be accommodated, so some us went over to Stock Island Marina Village. The new floating docks are first class as were the dock staff. A twenty minute taxi ride ($25) or the free marina's shuttle got us to our events in town. We look forward in staying there next year on our way to Cuba.

5 days in Stock Island, 2016-03-06
Captain: , New York (10)

This is a first class marina with a difficult location to enjoy the sights and sounds of Key West. Its a 20 minute drive to town. They do run a shuttle but only every 3 hrs. A taxi is $30. tip included.

The marina and docks are brand new and state of the art. the crew couldnt be any nicer.

Terrific Staff, 2016-03-06
Captain: , Michigan City, IN (828)

We stayed here two nights while waiting for parts and a lift out to do some work at 3D boatyard, which is right next door. It is a very busy and social place. The staff is top notch, professional and friendly. They offer free wifi but the signal was not strong enough to serve us on the C dock nor could our digital antenna (mounted on radar arch) pick up any tv channels.

Best team and a modern marina, 2016-03-02
Captain: , Delaware (90)

After a month we can tell that it is by far the best marina not only because of the floating dock but because of its crew. The crew is young and smiling and provide service with a zest of proudiness. The only suggestion we can make is to improve the internet signal. We will definitly return there as long as they keep their price reasonable! Maybe they should offer discount for the return boater who are spending more than a week. We love our stay and Active Captain was right on target again with the rating.
Special thanks to Ashley and all :) BTW if you need a sail or canvas repair contact Desiree... she is honest and work efficiently

Nice docks and staff, 2016-03-01
Captain: , Punta Gordo (71)

SailBoat - Truly Amazing 41 feet, 5 draft (Wienecke)

We stayed here with several other boats for fantasy fest 2015. Nice people kinda of a long way to Key West but you can cab it. Very nice dock, dog park, and boaters lounge. We are coming back I 2016

Great Long Term Stop, 2016-03-01
Captain: , Fort Monroe, VA (802)

Stayed 1/31 thru 2/29. Very nice marina, very clean and well designed. Once inside thee harbor, very calm. Marina provides shuttle service to downtown Key West at no extra cost, a great perk. Location is off the tourist path and quiet. Marina provides pumpout at the slip for no extra cost. Showers and laundry room were constantly cleaned. Fuel prices on this date were very competitive with those in the area. If you area a veteran, ask about their retired military discount which makes them competitive with Boca Chita NAS. Only suggestion...improve the WIFI

Wonderful Marina, 2016-02-25
Captain: , New Bern, NC (171)

Very helpful and accommodating staff. We arrived in Key West without any reservations - and no docks anywhere available. The staff at Stock Island Marina worked hard to find us a dock, and were able to accommodate us for several days. The facilities are very clean, the shuttle to town is great, and the harbor is well protected from all directions. We will go back.

Stock Island Marina Village, 2016-01-23
Captain: , Rock Hall, MD (30)

We recently stayed at SIMV from 1/1/16-1/20/16. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The docks are top notch and Zach on the docks is the best. The facility is spotless. The complimentary shuttle to Publix and Key West makes this quiet marina the perfect spot. if you want the fun of Key West it is a short ride away and if you want peace and quiet SIMV is just that. Added fun is the dinghy ride to the nearby sandbar to swim, play watersports and sip cocktails in the sun. We loved it and will be back! Thankyou to SIMV staff! SV KATYDID

The Best of Both Worlds, 2016-01-11
Captain: , Castine, Maine (2997)

Stock Island Marina Village offers the best of both worlds. The facilities are modern with all the amenities you need. The staff is friendly, professional, and ready to help. There's a great dog park on the property for the four-footed crew members with shade trees, benches, cleanup station, and friendly dogs. A casual bar and grill on site offers an easy night out. The setting is great for an extended stay.

It gives you a calm setting away from the excitement of downtown Key West but with a shuttle that will run you into town and back. We used it to walk the streets, go out for lunch and dinner, and enjoy the many things that are Key West. Then we returned for a quiet night. An added plus is the shuttle will drop you at Publix for shopping and pick you up a half hour later on their return run.

There are also rentals bikes available for a run to the stores along N Roosevelt or downtown with wide sidewalks along the way. If you wish to party into the night there are plenty of taxis to bring you home.

Make sure to check out their fuel prices. We found them to be the best price since northern Florida. The fuel dock is right along the channel making it easy to pull into before going to your slip. We took advantage of the price and easy access to top off our tanks.

We found this a perfect stop for our four week stay. We like it even better as a jumping off point for Cuba - maybe on our next visit!

great spot for access to the strangest and most entertaining city in America., 2016-01-10
Captain: , South Portland, Maine (847)

We were here a month and wished we could stay longer. Will definately be back. The staff is phenominol. If any questions/issues arise, get Derek or Cindy to solve them. We had our alternator rebuilt at R & R Diesel just off the property and are very pleased with the result. We biked into town many times for shopping and entertainment. Loved this place!!!

Update 2015:

we arrived 12/15 to saty a month to find the rate structure has changed to the length of the slip not the boat. Call early and ask for a slip no more than 5 feet shorter than your boat. Ask for Jordan, she knows her stuff and will accomidate just about any strange need. You could not find a better place to rest awhile. The staff here is amazing and will really do whatever they can to make your stay great. From local knowledge about snorkeling to preparing for a Cuba departure is available from this marina. And the fun to be explored in Key West is always the unique. experience Key West has been for ever. Not really a negative, but the shoreside activities are really not great for youg ones, a local park and playground is an easy walking distance but no pool or decent swimming nearby.

The local amenities include an open daily Tiki Bar and foodwagon on site and exellent services nearby for any and all repair work. Still rate this a 5 Star but was a bit taken aback by the rate increase. Oh, well, its America.

Great marina with easy access to Key West, 2016-01-05
Captain: , Leesburg VA (155)

We have been here 2 months and have nothing but positive things to say about facilities and staff. Easy shuttle (free) to KW. Shuttle vans to and from Miami/FLL airports will pick up and drop off at marina ($110 for 2 one way). No problems with security (gated at night with code access) and we were away from boat for one month.

Great staff, 2015-12-24
Captain: , Florida (120)

After a rough return from the Tortugas, we were here for a few days. Can't say enough about the friendly, courteous and helpful staff. Great floating docks and clean showers and restrooms. Less expensive than KW Bight but still on the upper range. Short walk to transit lines. Great daily free shuttles to grocery and downtown.

Clean, peaceful, convenient, 2015-11-16
Captain: , Yorktown, VA (952)

We returned again this year to the refurbished marina. The floating concert docks are excellent; the entire marina is spotless including the showers, bathrooms, laundry area, and grounds. The laundry room is modern, cool, and quite comfortable with well-maintained equipment.
The Captain%u2019s Lounge is beautiful and very comfortable with TV to watch football games and a deck to enjoy looking out onto Hawks Channel. It would be nice to have a microwave and a refrigerator.
Every dock has its own garbage box and a separate recycling box which was very convenient.
The free shuttle is now running 5 times a day and is very convenient. You can be dropped off at Publix or downtown. Thank you Gary, Red, and Stacey for your friendly, fun, informative rides. (Please remember to tip your drivers).
The staff is very helpful and the dock hands were there to help tie up or to offer the weekly free pump out.
I am concerned with the price increase over last year and are hopeful another increase will not be eminent for next year as it may price many boaters out.
The internet needs improved. It is very weak and even with our booster, we could not stay connected. It is perplexing to us since they have internet repeaters on each dock.
The marina is very convenient to several great restaurants on Stock Island and the on-site Shrimp Road Grill and Bar has improved since last year. It is very pleasant with live music on weekends.

Great staff, clean marina, 2015-11-15
Captain: , Fort Lauderdale (162)

Our third visit to Stock Island Marina, we came this year for the Super Boat Races and part of the Maritimo Rendevouz, stayed 5 nights. Staff are always friendly and helpful, marina is kept clean and tidy, pump out at slip, very good fuel prices - $2.511 diesel. Convenient shuttle to downtown or the publix / hardware store. About a $21.00 cab ride. The only imrpvement that woud be a benenfit is faster WI-FI as it can get slow at times.

Stock Island Marina Village, 2015-11-13
Captain: , Punta Gorda, Florida (20)

Excellant facility only 5 miles from downtown Key West. Outstanding staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. Captains lounge, Bath house, Laundry all well maintained and cleaned. pump out available at your slip. Very nice floating docks. Easy in and out. Would be even better with a pool. Regular, dependable shuttle to town.

Key West Race Week, 2015-11-12
Captain: , Kemah, Texas (202)

Came into Key West from the Dry Tortugas not knowing it was race week! Called the marina and they had a slip for us people on the dock to help get in and tied up. Free shuttle downtown running every 3 hours from 10 tom 10. New clean and quite. Stayed at Key West Bight couple of years ago and this place is sooo much nicer. Won't stay anywhere else in Key West next time

Great Place and Location, 2015-11-01
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (216)

Stayed three nights during Fantasy Fest. Great facilities and friendly staff. Free shuttle to Key West. Only negative is they could use more than one dock hand or maybe someone in the office could help on the dock when needed.

Nice Marina, Not handy to Key West, 2015-10-29
Captain: , Plano, Texas sv Mariposa (325)

Facilities are very nice. A pricey cab ride to town.

Greatness!, 2015-10-19
Captain: , Burnt Store (10)

We stayed here for 3 nights in October of 2015. The marina offers a free shuttle to/from Key West, is close to the airport and is much less expensive than the other marinas in Key West. The facilities are clean and the staff is very helpful. I would highly recommend the Stock Island Marina Village to other boaters looking for a clean, convenient, reasonably priced marina in the area.

Great all the way around, will be back!, 2015-10-08
Captain: , Blanco, TX (460)

For starters, the ease coming in and out of this marina is a huge plus, had 2 guys waiting for us to help us into our slip, extremely courteous, helpful and comfortable to work with. The entire staff goes above and beyond to make sure that any questions are answered and addressed if needed. The facilities were top notch, very very clean restrooms, laundry and property. They have a shuttle that goes into town 3 times a day and extra bonus(which we loved), the shuttle will drop you off at Publix and pick you up 30 minutes later after the trip to town, perfect provisioning setup for not having a car. Two great restaurants easy bike ride away. Loved having the option to get into town into the crazy 'Key West' atmosphere yet have a nice quiet marina to call home. All in all, overall great, and will return!

Great customer service, 2015-09-19
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (1211)

A very nice facility. The staff separate it from any other "nice" place. Everyone is clearly focused on customer service. From members of management to cleaners and maintenance people they all seem poised to drop what they are doing and help you. The marina has two parts: Med-moorings against a fixed dock called "Coconut Row" that is mostly live aboard boats that has tremendous character and some very nice residents and the new concrete floating docks. The fuel dock is easily accessible from the river and adjacent to the office. There is a small Tiki bar and a food-truck based restaurant. Both are of average quality. There is a free shuttle for rides to groceries and other services and into Key West. WiFi is quite good. We had suffered a rigging failure offshore and were in for repairs so there was a good bit of running about; we could not have asked for better support from a marina. This marina has earned a permanent place in the contact list of my phone.

I stayed here for a month several months ago. Very nice facilities! Helpful staff! Wifi was so-so at the boat, but excellent in the beautiful boater's lounge. I rented a scooter for the month to go back and forth into Key West. A worthwile investment! You are well protected in this marina. I'd definitely stay again!

The NEW Stock Island Marina Village, 2015-06-21
Captain: , St. Louis, MO (153)

We reserved a slip sight unseen when we landed back in Miami after five months in The Bahamas. We stopped in on our way to A&B Marina in Key West Bight for a planned two month stay, and pretty much got our pick of slips for our reservation starting 12/2013. We planned on staying one month and we're now entering month four. It's that nice here! Everything is new on the north pier with floating concrete docks, new laundry, new restrooms, showers, ships store and lounge. WiFi has just been improved and cable is coming soon. The airport and Naval airbase on Boca Chica, and folks working on boats at the neighboring boat yard make for daytime noise, but at night it's calm and quiet, only the sound of an occasional shrimper heading out to sea. We are doing business with the many services in the are, diesel mechanics, generator repair, canvas repair, authorized Sealand technician, and we also found a local small electronics repair tech that came to the boat to fix a GPS unit. There are places to gunk hole in the dinghy, or to take it to some local watering holes. There's also a few neat little restaurants within walking distance, but if that's not enough, Duval Street is four miles away.
Nearly one year later we haved moved to Marathon.
Stock Island Marina Village has had a price increase that is exorbitant. Check their website for pricing, but know that the price is different for past, present, and future customers, whatever that means.
We never did get cable T.V. that was promised. The rules are not enforced, so there are no rules. It's whatever you want to do, and people seem to want to let their dogs run free and do their business where they want. They want to load up the docks with their bikes, dinghies, outboard motors, longboards, plants, chairs, tables, etc.
The water in Safe Harbor is dirty. Diesel spills from shrimpers fueling up across the harbor are common. There is always trash floating around in the water.
Airborne soot from the emergency power generating plant across the harbor will cover your boat when they start it up once per month. Dust from the neighboring boatyard will also coat your boat when the wind right.
Noise from the boatyard could be an issue for some people, but the noise from the jets at the Naval Base goes on throughout the day.
Some things are beyond the control of the marina, but they are struggling with a lot of things that are in their control.
We would recommend this marina in a pinch, but will never stay there long term again, if they even let us.

Management response:
Rosemarie and Mike,
Thank you for taking the time to speak about your early experience with Stock Island Marina Village. We hope your past 7 months in Marathon have been as much fun as we’ve been having here in Key West!

As you can see by the 32 reviews received since your original review, lots of exciting changes have taken place. We have staffed our team with the best marina professionals in South Florida, we’ve reopened the Shrimp Road Bar & Grill and we just recently installed a new multi-tiered WiFi system for optimal connectivity. These are just three out of the many amazing things that have changed in over half of a year.

It’s even more impressive to see how far we’ve come in just 18 months of business. It’s been seven months since your departure, and we’d love for you to return so we can share these exciting changes with you in person. New, Clean, Friendly and quiet, 2015-06-06
Captain: , Fort Lauderdale (261)

As mentioned in the other reviews the marina is new with state or the art floating docks. Punctual free shuttle van into Old Town with stops at the Puplix supermaket upon request.

One the property is a outdoor/covered grill that served breakfast, lunch and dinner in season. They close Monday and Tuesdays during the summer. Nearby are several other restaurants easily walked to, biked or even by dinghy.

For pets there is a enclosed dog park with large and small dog sections. Very nice.

Next to the marina are two small boat yards with a travel lift. Most services can be obtained locally.

Historically the ferries to Cuba used to run from the docks across from the marina. Now they are occupied by shrimp and crabbing boats.

Stayed in marina for 4 days in May 2015 the marina was clean and the staff helpful. Fuel was reasonable and it was easy to land at the dock.

Outdated Sat View on 5/27/15 and nice marina, 2015-05-27
Captain: , Palm Beach Gardens (452)

The Sat view on Active Captain is totally outdated and does not show the layout of the marina as does Googlemaps. The marina was finished 15 months ago and is very nice with an approch depth of greater than 12ft. They have a free shuttle service into town or to shopping centers and the docks are large with excellant power and facilities. The staff was very friendly and it will be a regular stop anytime I am in the area. The marina is not in town but can accomidate large yachts with ease and the shuttle service does make up for some of that. A West Marine is nearby.

Seminole Wind, 2015-05-26
Captain: , Jersey UK (10)

We have been regular visitors to key west after sailing Seminole Wind from the UK last year. there's lots to love here but generally the marinas in town are not on the list. We normally anchor off or go round to Garrison Bight simply becasue the marinas are to frenetic, noisy and expensive. We were heading up to Biscayne but strong easterly headwinds persuaded us to delay for a day and so we swung round to Stock Is to give us a head start. What a surprise - it's quiet, friendly, safe, the infrastructure is all new, top quality pontoons and there's a shuttle into town. Everything you need is here, facilities are great and we were made to feel like old friends so guess what - i think we will become old friends. This will become our stop off on the way from our base in Naples to the east coast, Bahamas and caribbean so see you on the way back guys.

Can't say enough good about this place, 2015-03-18
Captain: , Varies - Home in Charlotte, NC (192)

We stayed here from january 12, 2015 to March 10. The staff wass very friendly and helpful. The clean the water with nets each day. They pump out your boat each week if you want automatically and if you need it will come around any other time. The shuttle that goes into Key West is 5 times a day (free) and very punctual. The depth of water at our slip was 20 feet. Easy access to the ocean.

If The Keys Are Your Oyster, Stock Island Marina Is The Pearl., 2015-03-09
Captain: , Bayville, NJ (10)

We recently visited Key West. On our way down while stopped in Boot Key we were deciding where to go in Key West and people we were talking to mentioned Stock Island Marina. We never were here before but decided to try it out. Great Place. It is very well run and freindly. It has everything you need in a marina and more. Resturants within walking distances, clean showers and restrooms, general store, floating docks, and the best part is free shuttle to food mart and downtown Keywest. So you have the best of two worlds quiet marina and wild night life. This place was a great find.

Great Place to Stay, 2015-03-01
Captain: , St. Louis (30)

Spending a month on D Dock next to the "committee". Great bunch of people and a hoot to be around.

The facilities are some of the best we have seen and close to everything in Key West.

Had engine problems coming back from Tortugas and had to be towed to marina. There were many "committee" folks there to help get us in along with marina staff at 9:00 pm on a Thursday. Can't beat that!

Great Place, 2015-02-24
Captain: , Erie, PA (587)

We originally planned on a two day stay and ended up here for five weeks. It is far enough away from the downtown area to be away from all the commotion associated with Duval Street yet close enough to get there on the marina shuttle in twenty minutes.
If will be our first choice to stay when we return. You can't say enough good things about the staff here.

What's Not To Like?, 2015-02-24
Captain: , Neoga, IL (11)

A one year old marina with concrete floating docks, good facilities - fuel, pumpout at the boat, showers, heads, laundry, package receipt plus the staff helpfulness is some of the best we've experienced anywhere.

A big plus for us is the community. Lots of folks living on their boats, either passing through or enjoying the warm winter weather. Makes for a fun community with lots going on in the marina.

Also, the free shuttles make it easy to enjoy "downtown" and all its festivities without having the hassle of driving (drinking) and parking.

It will only get better as they add the next few phases - especially the hotel for our visitors and swimming pool!

Great ***** Marina, but...., 2015-02-24
Captain: , Conway (145)

We stayed at SIM Jan 2015. Awesome place, awesome everything including the shuttle. However there are two things that make me want to give them 4 stars and not 5.

1. On D Dock there are 'locals' who take pride in their noise. They are referred to as the committee (even by SIM employees. So, avoid a assignment on D if possible.
2. When we planned to depart, the wind kicked up, thus making us stay an aditional two days. SIM charged us NOT the MONTHLY rate, but the single night transient rate. SIM you can do better than this. If you book a month, discuss this to avoid being over charged.

Can't say enough about this place, 2015-02-15
Captain: , Atlanta (770)

Fantastic. Had a month reservation - had to come in a few days early, leave a day late due to weather - no problem. Eve pro-rated the extra days at the monthly rate.

New facility with floating docks, modern showers/bathrooms.

Free shuttle to Key West and Publix every three hours was great.

Great Place, 2015-01-28
Captain: , New Bern, NC (476)

Spent a 6 weeks here over the holidays to end of Jan. Staff is wonderful, great van service to stores and downtown..
Downside is pumpout at docks wasn't working most of the time and WiFi is marginal at best.
Very expensive marina. $30 a foot for a month

New Kid On The Stock, 2015-01-27
Captain: , Thunder Falls, AZ (10)

A great addition to the selection of marinas in Key West. New docks, friendly and helpful staff, competitive rates, and lots and lots of perks (like a shuttle bus into town). Plus, it's got the best location for access to Hawks Channel. They've raised the bar for Key West - will the other marinas follow suite?

Friendly Staff, Good service, 2015-01-16

Stock Island Marina Village, 2015-01-13
Captain: , Leamington, Ontario (620)

Awesome staff, great personalities. Good water depth, easy to access. Fairways are a little tight with larger(45+) sailboats..or single screw non bow thruster types. Good washrooms, laundry. Shuttle service to downtown Key West. Walking distance to West Marine, and Hogfish Restaurant(awesome food). Not cheap! Great docks, fun place to be. Close to shipyards and airports, so kind of noisy at times, but NOT downtown either! Would definitely return, once again, STAFF are AWESOME!

Stopped in to buy some diesel and Good Humor bars on a Sunday morning. The whole staff was friendly and excited to help out. When I paid the bill, they asked how they did for us and if they could have done anything better. When was the last time a vendor asked you that? Awesome!

Management response:
Thank for your your review, Pete! It is one of our highest priorities to provide excellent customer service and we are glad that you enjoyed your experience. We look forward to seeing you again!

Got all excited reading about this facility to spend a few months this winter. Called today and prices are increasing to $35/foot + metered electric in the new year. Good to know

Awesome marina, well run, safe and convenient. Clean facilities and a great staff. They even sponsor full-moon cookouts and no-moon movie nights! Five stars is an under rating!

John, thank you so much for the kind words! Your review is invaluable and we sincerely appreciate your business.

A Last Piece of Old Key West, 2014-08-06
Captain: , Key West (10)

First class facility with new fuel system, floating docks, and plenty of water with easy access. I'll be there all winter. It's fun! And they even have a dog park!

Management response:
Thank you for your review! We love to hear what our guests enjoy about our marina, and we greatly value your business.

Outstanding facilities and staff, 2014-04-08
Captain: , San Marcos, TX (865)

Stayed here 4 nights in early April 2014 on our way up the Keys. The staff is terrific, especially the Asst Dockmaster Jana (thank you for all your help). Everything is brand new, fantastic floating docks, super-clean restrooms and laundry room. Easy approach from Hawk Channel, good fuel and water, pump-out at every slip. They offer a shuttle to downtown Key West and to the Publix several times a day. The wifi was strong and fast (and we learned they were upgrading it even more). We used our bikes to go to the West Marine and other businesses in the area. It is a short dinghy ride to the Hogfish Grill and we had no problem tying up the dinghy while we ate lunch. Will definitely stay here again when we return to the area.

Management response:
Thank you so much for your review! Not only does it tell us what the guests love most, but also provides other readers with information on some of our amenities. Your business is greatly appreciated, and we look forward to seeing you again!

Highly recommend., 2014-03-30
Captain: , White Bay, BVI (141)

I stayed 1 month at the Marina and highly recommend it. Price was reasonnable, for my 53 vessel paid $1280 (for the month).
Very new, very clean shower and restroom, great laundry room. They have pump out at every dock, etc.
Highly recommend !!!
I did not use their internet, so can not rate it.
Bus stop was not far, also they had a shuttle leaving late afternoon to Key West.
Will definitely come back here.
I pick this marina because the prices of all the other ones in Key West, were just too expensive. for a month, they range between $3600 to $4400 and look run down... while here $1280 and brand new.

Ditto other reviews, 2014-03-17
Captain: , Slidell, La. (1055)

Easy in-out. Staff helps with fuel, docking, pumpouts, etc. Ship store has essentials. Discount on fuel after 500 gallons. Very good onsite Breakfast and Lunch till 3pm (they are working on dinner). Dinghy across harbour to Hogfish Grill for a great dinner and drinks (some say you can't tie up dinghy there, but we had no problem and others were doing it). Free shuttle to Key West or Publics. WiFi was ok, but they are working on updating. Will return next year for a 4 months stay instead of the busy Key West Marinas.

Best Marina in the Keys, 2014-02-27
Captain: , Newport (20)

I'm here since fall of 2013 (just after the opening) and everybody works hard to make everything operational as best as possible.

Word class marina with large mega yacht capabilities and superb concrete floating dock and everything built with best quality possible. Huges fuel dock with 5 pumps, Dog Park, Tiki hut, captain lounge, store and everything needed for day to days life on a boat.

Easy access via Safe Harbor, 25' deep water in the marina with clean water. The marina is quiet and safe and recommend it to everybody looking for high quality service and great staff.

Captain: , Shelburne, VT (120)

This has been home for about 2 months. Staff is always helpful. Daily improvements to the marina and the social scene has been fun. We can take the bus to old town KW or use the shuttle. It is nice and quiet at night. There is airplane fly overs from the airport and Navy base but that doesnt bother me.
The new recreationarea with Tiki hut and great food truck is a fun place to gather for music or Boci Ball

SOUR GRAPES, 2014-02-20
Captain: , Key West Fl (10)

Negative reviews and posting rumors do nothing positive. This is a new marina and has new marina adjustments. Grand Opening was end of January - what can one expect. We have been here for one year, watched construction, growth and progress of marina - all of which has been positive. We plan to stay on the new docks, love the nice people both on boats and staff, not being in heart of down town Key West but close enough to enjoy the "scene" when we wish. Given a little more time I feel this will be a 5 star maina.
GO STOCK ISLAND VILAGE MARINA!!! OH YES I am not a paid spokesman or employee or in any way financially connectied to this facility.

A Work in Progress, 2014-02-17
Captain: , Miami, FL (94)

The owners spent (and are spending) a small fortune (literally) on the facilities. How many marinas have a Bocce ball court, a mini farm for local roosters (guinea hens), a dog park, and plots of land where boaters can grow their own crops? Answer - none. In addition, plans call for an on-site hotel, pool, several restaurants, and bars. In short, this marina has the best facilities of any marina that we have been to or are aware of.

However, as good as the facilities are, that's about how weak management is. Certain important items are missing, and management isn't up to the task of operating the marina.

When we arrived, the office had our reservation incorrect. The office had the wrong date of our arrival and the wrong rate. Fortunately, there was plenty of room, and the staff corrected the rate.

Physical security is lacking. While there is a gate at the vehicle entrance that is closed at night, cars can easily access the property from the north open parking lot or the south "older" area. There are no security gates at the finger piers.

The marina is located about seven miles from Duval Street and Old Town Key West. Shopping centers are approximately three miles away. The marina has a limited shuttle service (3 trips starting at 6:00 pm) that runs sometimes --- if the driver is working, isn't sick, and doesn't have something else to do. (It is rumored that the driver sometimes drinks prior to driving.) A marina of this quality and located 7 miles from "the action" needs to have a "real" shuttle service (with a competent, qualified, properly licensed, and sober driver) that runs from morning to night (a la Charleston, for example).

Bulletin boards listing marina events and local events are sorely missing. There was a jam session last night that we learned about by accident. The admin office was closed on Presidents' Day, and there were no signs/notices informing boaters (both prior to Presidents' Day or on Presidents' Day) of the closing. Only by walking to the admin office did we become aware that the office was closed.

WiFi is extremely slow. Management is aware of the problem and is in the process of correcting the situation. Allegedly, meeting(s) are scheduled to be held with local Internet service providers. However, since there are no plans to have a qualified systems/network engineer attend the meeting on behalf of management/owners, it is doubtful that the WiFi problem will be resolved anytime soon.

Staff seem to wander around the facility without direction or reason. The bathrooms/showers don't seem to be cleaned on a regular basis.

In short, the marina is physically great, but from an operations/management perspective needs a lot of work. Hopefully, the owners can and do address the issues in the short term.

Must stay here while in town!, 2014-02-03
Captain: , Plymouth MI (34)

Stock Island Marina Village is getting better every day! We have been there almost a year and have seen the facilities greatly improved. The location is perfect for wild nights on Duval or getting away from it all, to include other tourists! The marina is a $20 cab ride to and from downtown. There are numerous bars, museums, and cultural attractions in the area. The slip rates are some of the cheapest in the area. This is a great place to stop and stay a while.

Has a lot of potential., 2014-02-01
Captain: , Alexandria,VA (60)

The marina continues to be work in progress and has a lot of potential. Similar to most Key West attitudes there is not a clear timeframe for the completion of projects.

stock island village marina, 2013-11-04

the marina is top of the line, great floating docks awesome ship store. on the bus line to key west.

Stock Island Marina Village, 2013-05-23
Captain: , Houston, TX (523)

This marina is good value for money; easily the least expensive in the Key West area. The accommodations are a bit basic, but the bathrooms/showers were just fine, although there are only 3 of them. The staff are top-notch and as soon as they finish construction of the rest of the marina, all floating docks, this place will be a great stop.

Good lower price alternative to Key West marinas, 2012-04-13
Captain: , JUMBIE 45 ft sailing catamaran (407)

We pulled in early in the morning after a two day passage from Isla Mujeres, Mexico. Dockmaster Doug was on the dock to greet us and help with the Med mooring docking process. Staff were excellent and helpful in all ways. Sea walls are in the process of being rebuilt and job seems to be close to being completed. This is predominantly a live aboard marina. Everyone was very friendly and one man brought over fresh baked cookies the day we arrived. We used the good Key West bus system to get around to shopping areas and downtown Key West. There is a stop just a couple of blocks from the marina as well as a small West Marine store within walking distance. Bus took about 30 minutes to downtown Key West. All in all, a very good experience and about half the cost of staying in one of the downtown Key West marinas.
