Don't expect them to be open on a holiday!, 2013-07-13
Captain: , Lighthouse Point, Florida (20)

Our trip to the Bahamas was washed out Labor Day weekend 2013 so we decided to explore the ICW south from Lighthouse Point to the Keys. We decided to dock at Steamers. They had room for my vessel in spite of a crowded marina on a holiday weekend. We arrived, washed in the shower facililty and dressed for dinner. At 9:30 am we went to the restaurant and the hostess told us they had just closed the kitchen. The place was empty except for a few bar flies. The sign read "open til 10 pm". When I pointed it out she simply shrugged. I asked for the phone number for a taxi to take us across the bridge to Gilberts which was hopping. She couldn't help me with that either. We pulled lines and took the boat across the canal to Gilberts for a great dinner. I wouldn't recommend the place at all.

Not sure in 2012 what the new owners have, very limited dockage

Pontunes is now Steamers, 2012-03-14

Food is good I heard they have the same cook there is a large paddle boat that takes people out for dinner cruises that stops there. Gilberts now owns Steamers.

The staff at this facility helped me load my boat and
helped pull me out. They are the greatest. I have
never had such a nice expirence at a marina
