Reviews for St Michaels Harbour Inn Marina and Spa
Avoid Sat night, 2017-07-30
Captain: , Middle River, MD (150)

This is a fair marina. Bathrooms are ok, but beware, they close when the pool closes. The pump out is blocked by a shirt cruise boat so it can be inaccessible. Note that there is a free (donations accepted) pump out boat in the area. While the slip rate seems low, don't forget to tack on the mandatory spa fee. That, along with a rate increase for Sat night, pushed my cost to $4.22 per foot. Breakfast was fair at best. Not worth a second visit.

Had a Great Stay, 2017-06-29
Captain: , Oakton, VA (349)

Many things to like about Harbour Inn. From the breakfast included with the $29/day resort fee to the nice bicycles we borrowed multiple times, to the spa, we really enjoyed ourselves. The bikes got us to the CBMM, all around town and even to the hardware store. Staff and guests were very friendly!

Helpful and friendly staff - lots of services, 2017-06-11
Captain: , Hull, MA (580)

Great dock staff and front desk. Assisted us in docking and setting up electric. Tasty omelet for a complementary breakfast. Nice showers, but run the water a long time before getting in to have hot water. Desk staff arranged a free ride for us to the Maritime Museum. A MUST visit for young and old. Awful Arthurs has "bucks shuck" oysters for happy hour - the best ever! Close to shopping and groceries. We will be back!

Another great stay, 2016-10-12
Captain: , PooleUK (973)

Thank you gain for our plesant stop, it has been two years since we were last here, and it was lovely to see some familiar faces and get decent service once more.
See you next time around!

$1.50/ft Friday Special, 2016-09-18
Captain: , Colorado (411)

Originally planned to anchor out but yet another heat wave in the area had my wife longing for a place to plug in for A/C. We found this marina had a special Friday rate of $1.50/ft plus electric plus $29 resort fee (that includes pool towels, use of bikes, shuttle van service, and a free continental breakfast with omelette bar). Staff was very friendly and helpful and they had a decent size face dock that could accomodate our catamaran.

A very pleasant stay at a reasonable price. Use of their loaner bikes made the entire town easily accessible. Would definitely stay there again on a Friday.

First Class Marina and Staff, 2016-09-12
Captain: , jupiter,fl (140)

From Matt, the dockmaster, to the entire front-desk staff, it doesn't get much better than this mini resort in, arguably, the most desirable town on the Chesapeake Bay. Can't recommend it more highly. Free breakfast, free bicycles, and great is good!

Outstanding service and marina, 2016-07-09
Captain: , Herrington Harbor North (220)

Spent the night on 7 July. Called on vhf, got our slip assignment and were met at the dock--dockhand helped with lines and got us set for the evening. We walked into town (a VERY hot walk on a July day), which is short and later used the bikes to tour around town and get to the museum. Pool was great, breakfast with made to order omelettes hit the spot. And Matt provided great assistance on the way out. Very friendly people. The only small criticism was the bathrooms; they were a bit dated/used, but certainly good eough for what we needed! There are signs posted that warn you that it takes awhile for the warm water to get to the showers from the other side of the building, but during the heat wave we were in, the cold water was perfect! We will come back to visit again!

Fantastic Marina!, 2016-06-28
Captain: , Solomons Island (53)

Enjoyed an entire three day weekend here. Nice folks, good food!
Dock Master Matt and his crew are the best. Hailing on 16 was answered on the first try. We experienced first class docking assistance/tie up. Matt even delivered a morning paper right to our boat. I do not know much about the resort itself but the breakfast is good, the bikes are very nice and all is well cared for and clean. All of which are included in your docking fees.
A very nice, not long, walk is all there is to some of the best restaurants you will ever encounter and even the Marine Museum. DO NOT miss out on the pizza at Ava's Pizzeria & Wine Bar and the French Dip was one of the best I%u2019ve ever tried at Theo's Steaks, Sides & Spirits. My wife%u2019s burger was absolutely amazing. I saw a few steaks go by our table and am sure to return to try those!
Simply put, no regrets staying with St. Micheals Harbour Inn Marina and Spa!

Friendly, accommadating, and personal! Definitely my favorite marina so far in the great Cheasapeake Bay! Everything you need is right there! Owner, Mike is always present and runs a "tight ship"! Be sure to check out the bikes too when staying at St Michaels Marina! Worth the trip and the the layover!

Great Marina, OK "Resort", 2016-06-10
Captain: , Suffolk, VA (171)

Stayed 2 nights at Harbour Inn. Excellent marina facilities and service....not so much a "resort". First, the marina, emailed re. availability the day before arrival since phone had no service; received quick reply from the dock master Matt. Stopped for fuel across from Harbour Inn and when done Matt was waiting to assist us in tying up alongside A dock as we requested. Matt was excellent in getting everything set with our not having to change or adjust any lines or fenders....not the usual for docking assistance! He made check in a breeze, answered all our questions and was nice to just chat with. As noted, Marina has fixed piers piers in very good condition as were power and water hookups. Tidal range is 2' or less so so real need to adjust lines for tides. Cable tv also at the dock though didn't use it since the channels available were pretty poor. Short walk to showers, pool, hotel facilities. Our only criticism of the marina is that the restroom/showers are pretty basic. They were very clean, no issue there, but the stall showers with "saloon" doors offered little space or privacy. One would expect a "resort marina" to have offered the private shower rooms common in other high-end (i.e. pricey) marinas! One other thing... the pump out appeared to be difficult to access as a tour boat tied up to that space. You would have to time your pump out to when that boat was underway. We just pumped out when getting fuel at the St Michales Marina (and paid their exorbitant fee). The hotel amenities were decent, though lacking in some areas. The restaurant is an open-air space with metal tables and chairs, again, not what I would expect from a high end resort. The pool was pretty basic...clean, adequate. Pool towels had to be signed for at the front desk which we found strange. There was a very nice bar/lounge with chairs and sofas...very comfortable, but no service to speak of. While servers walked back and forth thru the lounge with plates of food, none took any drink orders. The grounds were nice with a few Adirondack chairs overlooking the marina. There is a $25 per night (per boat, not person) resort fee. The fee basically provided unlimited use of bicycles, a shuttle to town, newspaper and continental breakfast. We didn't use the shuttle so no comments there; never saw a newspaper. Breakfast was decent, basic bagels, breads, juice, coffee, cereal- no fruits or real a hot omelette to order station. The omelettes were a nice touch making what was a pretty standard "free hotel breakfast" into a bit more. The best amenity were the bicycles. Cruiser bikes, all in great condition with no hassles. Just take one and go. All had locks and baskets so even bringing back some groceries was easy. We'd go back even though Harbour Inn is a bit further from town and on the pricey end.

Excellent Marina, 2015-08-10
Captain: , Solomons MD (60)

Great marina without the price and crowded conditions of St Michaels Marina. Dockmaster Matt and his crew are very helpful. The $25/nt/slip resort fee gives you free bikes (like new), free pool towels, free hot breakfast including an omelet staion, and free shuttle drop-off and pick-up anywhere in St Michaels. The pub/lounge has nice drinks, snacks and craft beer on draft.

The harbor Inn Marina & Spa was very nice. Stayed for one night. Great stop over back to New jersey.

St. Michaels Harbor Inn/Marina, 2014-05-25
Captain: , Sandwich (722)

The location is perfect and it's all about the destination. Quick walk to Talbot Street, St. Michael's main street with many shops/restaurants/museums. Old captain's homes make the walk even that more interesting. ACME Grocery also easy walk. Make arrangements with front desk for pick up. The pool was open for use. A bit cool but very clean. Showers/bath areas are not spa/resort worthy and could be a tad cleaner. A daily $20/concierge service makes it pricey but less then St. Michaels Marina located across the harbor an in the mix of restaurants and bars.

Nice place, 2013-11-23
Captain: , Georgetown Yacht Basin (50)

Stayed here for two days in early September and found it very accomodating. The docks are in good shape and the dock master was very helpful on our arrival and departure. Made use of the free hotel bicycles.

Captain: , ANNAPOLIS (60)

I made reservations ahead of time and the person taking the reservation said that he would probably put us at D Dock, but to contact him as we arrived. We arrived on a beautiful Monday afternoon @2:30PM. We stopped at St. Michael's Marina for fuel (just a cross the canal from Harbour Inn). During refueling, I tried to hail the Harbour Inn on CH. 16 on several occasions. No Reply.

Upon completion of fueling; attempted on 16 twice more - No Reply. I called onthe cell phone and got V/M. I have been at D Dock about 10 minutes now . . . so I selected Slip D-6. As I was backing in the slip; a dock hand walking down the dock, putting on his 'rope handling' gloves. He said that he thought I was going to call on CH. 16. I told him that I did that. He said that I should have called on the phone. I told him that I did that too, as I was tying up the boat.

The dock hand stood there at a safe distance, with his shiny new gloves, while he watched me secure the vessel with 6 lines (2 spring lines) on my 32' Express - by myself!

Am I capable of tying up my own boat by myself? OF COURSE. But I was at a fine resort, paying for a slip while the dock hand watched from a safe distance wearing his shiny new 'rope handling' gloves. BTW: Weather was 91 degrees and very high humidity. Not that it matters, but I am a senior and not as nimble as I once was. It would have been nice to have a little assistance in the heat from a person who is paid to help secure boats (big and little). Evidently, I took too long and the dock hand said, 'I was going to ask you to sign in - but I'll just get the info from the front desk'. And he strolled off, removing his new 'rope handling' gloves. Those gloves should last a long, long time at this rate.

The rest of the staff is SUPERB and the accomodations were GREAT. We did not eat at the restaurant here; but this is a fine resort and worth the money.

NOTE: Initially, I wrongly identified the dock hand as the Dock Master. For this I apologize. I should have asked his name. But the experience was the same as described above. The Dock Master, Matt, phoned me after reading this review and asked me to contact him the next time we arrive. We do hope to return again and again. And I am not looking for special treatment. This is a fine place to enjoy and relax! From front desk to maid service to bartender - the staff is excellent! But, the dock hand did not offer a hand . . . or even a glove.

Captain Ray has it wrong!, 2013-09-03
Captain: , Ft. Lauderdale, Fl (10)

As a summer resident of The St. Michaels Inn and Marina, I was confused by Captian Ray's review. Our Dockmaster Matt is generally off on Mondays and never wears gloves, so I'm not sure to whom he was referring. A part-time dock hand, Jeff, fills in sometimes for Matt and maybe that's who helped dock the little boat. Regardless, I can vouch for Matt that he is always helpful and would never let you fend for yourself getting into a slip. He has helped me in pouring rain, high winds and searing heat, always with a smile. As a matter of fact, Matt is the main reason why staying at the Inn is a comfortable and secure place for the summer, he watches over the boats and activities, ensuring that all are safe and sound. I'm sorry that Captain Ray had a bad experience, but he probably should have asked for the name of the person he was planning on lambasting, before he published the review. It is simply unfair to Matt and to the marina.

Adequate Facilities, 2013-08-05
Captain: , Deale, MD (347)

Dock Master and staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Docks in good repair. You will pay an additional resort fee which includes the use of bicycles and pool. However, over half of the bikes were out of service. The walk to town is only a few blocks. Bath houses seemed too small for the number of boats in the facility and not cleaned over the weekend.

Great place to stay, 2013-07-19
Captain: , Worton Creek, MD (290)

Stayed here for two days, and we really enjoyed ourselves. The docks are in great shape and amenities are close at hand. It is an easy walk into town, or use the free bicycles ( great way to see the beautiful houses in town). Only negatives are 1) dock master did not tell us about the free breakfast, so we missed it the first day, 2) There is no ATM in the hotel- the closest one is several blocks away on Talbot St.

A favorite on the bay, 2013-01-12
Captain: , Browns Cove, MD (402)

I've gotten a slip here every summer for the last 5 years and enjoyed it every time. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the location is great. Plus free bikes and free shuttle service. I would say the hotel itself is a bit worn and the shower/bath facilities for boaters are fair compared to others. Not a deterrent, but helps to know so you have realistic expectations. Otherwise the marina facilities and pool are great.

Great Destination, 2012-10-07
Captain: , Glenwood, MD (385)

Dockmaster was very helpful, restaurant was phenomenol. We took advantage of the discounted rates of $1.50/ foot. great location, easy walk to town

Very pretty spot, 2012-09-20
Captain: , Toronto (80)

We stayed here for 2days midweek in September
Enjoyed the marina, very helpful having free rental bikes to ride 5minutes into town. Town itself is picturesque, lots of good restaurants. Midweek rate is good at 2.25 per ft, weekend is a little expensive.

Very Quaint Place, 2012-07-16
Captain: , Aventura, Florida (330)

The staff was a great help. Matt went out of his way to make us feel welcomed. Nice little pool. Shuttle was of use to go to town.We will use this marina again.

Three days in June, 2012-06-24
Captain: , Somers Point, NJ (230)

We enjoyed out time at this marina but not worthy of 5 stars. They seemed short staffed and people in the hotel really didn't pay much attention to guests. The marina staff was great with help and local waterway information. Everything was clean and well kept. When we go back we will star across the harbor.

Our favorite fall marina, 2012-02-09
Captain: , Baltimore (529)

We like the St. Michaels Harbour Inn Marina and now make it a stop every October. The off-season rates kick in before the marina across the harbour.

St Michaels Marina, 2012-02-08
Captain: , Baltimore MD (70)

The two times I visited the marina I've had a great time, the Pool, food and shipholders were great to us visitors also. To my suprise when we would go into the town the marina supplied us transporation with their hotel van with driver. Our stay has always been great.

Great Marina, 2011-11-26
Captain: , Portsmouth RI (275)

The dockmaster was great. Unfortunately we were on an outside dock and the wind was directly on our stern so we were slapped around in the bad weather. It was October and they had a very reasonable rate for weekdays.
With what they offer, I was expecting a much higher rate.
The shuttle was sporadic due to being off season, the place was pretty deserted.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were handed beautiful water bottles on check in.
The museum is fantastic but a bit of a walk. Probably easier to dinghy accross unless you get a shuttle ride like we did. The dropped us off and picked us up.

The y have a open lounge near the pool which I used when using their Internet connection. Deserted but welcome space to spread out. The Internet connection at the dock at the far slip was also good.

The resturants are expensive and seem rather snobby.
Great bathrooms with washers in mens and womens.

We would return if we could get the same rate. As they are small, I am sure that they are full or have a high rate in season.

Getting into the inner docks looked like a challenge.

Real nice with a great resturant too., 2011-11-22
Captain: , Bristol, PA (56)

Got weathered in for a second nite at the end of July 2011. It was 97 degrees with thunderstorms predicted and no wind for saiing. I requested an easy in slip and they accomadated me wuth a straight in approach to a nice slip. The pool was small but empty. Staff was nice. The downstairs restuarant is more reasonable that the upscale version on the second floor. (25% discount upscale if tyou stay there). The town and Museum is a bit of a hike but they have a free shuttle.

A Favorite Place, 2011-09-08
Captain: , Phila, PA (293)

A great upscale place to stay, if a bit pricey. I've had some great massages in the Spa. Food is expensive, but in 2011, they gave out 25% discount cards to transits. Pool is nice with a fabulous view - it's small, but rarely gets crowded. Free bikes at Inn and free shuttle to town. Staff, other than dockmaster, is a bit "stiff".

Fantastic Marina, 2011-09-01
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (195)

Great pool, convenient to town and the maritime museum. We will definitely go back!

St. Michaels Stay, 2011-07-19
Captain: , Charleston (241)

Stayed two nights and had no time for the 3rd free night (pay for two and get the third one free - only pay for power.) Great stay - enjoyed the free bikes and food at their under rated restaurant. Restrooms are clean and have washer/dryer in both men and women. I would go back to back to this mjarina and definitely to St. Michaels.

Overnight Stay, 2011-06-21
Captain: , Rock Hall, MD (179)

Stayed night of 6/19/11. Dockhands were great helping us with lines and dockmaster was very congenial. Take your own hose for water (although I think the marina will lend you one) because some boats are seasonal slipholders so you don't want to use their water. Slips on the inside are a little tricky to get into with larger boats. The marina offers a free shuttle into town otherwise it's a nice walk.

Nice Marina - Pricey, 2011-04-26
Captain: , Annapolis (795)

Data shows 2.25USD per foot, more on weekends. It's a lot more, especially in season. It's a very nice marina, helpful staff, nice showers, close to good eateries.

Transient stay, 2011-02-23
Captain: , Herrington South, Rose Haven, MD. USA (49)

Stayed only Sat nite(10/23/10). Seemed full and everyone including the slips next to us were very friendly. Used the free shuttle to go to dinner then walked around town. Called the shuttle to come pick us up in town and they came right away. Very nice facility - would/will use it again.

St. Michael's Harbour Inn, 2010-08-05
Captain: , Dallas, TX (726)

Stayed 2 weeknights, not very busy. Pool was nice with a bar right there. Free Bicycles and shuttle, although we were told the shuttle would run until 11:00pm. When I called at 10:00pm I was told that shuttle was not running and to get the Inn at Perry Cabin to give us a ride back which they were happy to do. Other than that a good experience. Fueled next door at St. Michael's marina, staff was very helpful, consider staying there if you have no use for pool or spa.

Dockmaster excellent, 2010-07-31
Captain: , Mesa AZ (1609)

Expert help setting the lines. Extremely competent and accommodating marina staff. Pool nice with bar. Free bikes and shuttle nice. Good restaurant.....we'll stay again.

A great slip with service if you can get it., 2010-07-23
Captain: , Herring Bay, Md. (68)

For those of us on the Western side of the Chesapeake Bay, this Marina is most welcome after the 4 hour sail to get to it. The boat slips are very near the pool and bar and the hotel has services that deliver right to your slip. They monitor VHF and are responsive when you are about 1/2 mile in range (I think they use handhelds). This is only one of a hnadfull of such full service hotel/marinas where your boat is considered part of the hotel's assetts.

Still worth the time in 09, 2010-01-16
Captain: , Albemarle Plantation, NC (389)

We stayed there one night late in the season in 09 -- had a wonderful time. They don't get the "radio thing," so try calling them on the phone. But, they are friendly and helpful, and facilities were all we needed -- water, hook-ups, information. Several transient slips, reasonable price, and a free night stay points program. Easy dink ride across to the Crab House, town dock and easy walk around town for supplies or just spending your time/money. Pet friendly.

Good location, friendly, 2008-11-24
Captain: , Bermuda (219)

Stayed for 3 nights in Nov 08. We were the only boat there... but the marina was open, the staff very friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant was surprisingly busy and had excellent local sea food. Good location in St Michael's. Will definitely return in the season.

Can't disagree more !, 2008-03-09
Captain: , Atlantic City, NJ (76)

We have been taking a Chespeake Regatta for over a decade now and there are few places we always include on the trip and St. Mich's is one of them. I will give it a toss up between St. Mich's marina in town and the Harbour Marina across the waterway but both have always been outstanding with our group. The Crab House is a must hit every year for us.

Bad experience, 2007-08-17
Captain: , Stratford, CT (146)

We stayed at this marina in July 2007. First, they made an error and only had us booked for the first night of our 2 night reservation. The dock staff was unhelpful and unfriendly. The pool was nice, but small and the restaurant was overpriced for a pick-up window kind of place.
