Reviews for St Johns Boat Company
Good service and well organised, 2016-11-22

We were hauled here for an insurance survey and to have new propellers installed. Tom Jones and his staff were organised, on time, and professional. Everything happened on schedule and we were back in the water on time and with the work completed professionally and for a reasonable price.

Great Service for Haulout, 2015-04-01
Captain: , Annapolis MD (310)

We hauled here for an insurance survey and had a great experience. Our 7.5ft draft and wind generator and radar post make for a difficult haul in most yards we encounter. Not here. Tom and his crew were on time, efficient, and professional. They also have a great office cat. Reasonably priced.

Bottom Painting, 2015-02-15

Bottom painting: Great place to do that work. They support DIY with enthusiasm. Whne it was time to reblock the boat, put her back in they showed up on time.

There is a tremendous current AND if you are wise, you will enter for the lift at slack tide. We masured the canal and it is approximately 25 feet in width.

It was the second time my 21 foot beam sailing cat has been pulled there. Only dreawback is the facilities for multiday repairs. We had a car available which miade it a non issue.

Great Haul Out, 2014-10-30

Travel Lift to 25 ft beam. Fantastic people. Yard is well maintained by the owner who is very active rather than being a 'big boss sitting in the office'. A Florida Clean Marina that services government vessels and all kinds of others without feeling the need to limit the DIYer. Mostly professionals at work but everyone respected the tidy nature of the yard. Just how it should be. They will happily do your work at reasonable rates or you can bring in your preferred sub-contractor without financial penalty. They were so impressed with Steve from G-Finishing (Fernandia Beach) that they took his cards and kept bringing people by to show them the quality of the work.
It would be 5 stars but there are no showers, the rest room is a portapottie and the water is well water. All-in-all a hassle-free and reasonably priced place to haul an larger boat.

Great place for repairs, 2014-06-20

We purchased a boat in Jax and dropped it off for some work before the journey to Biloxi MS Honest, saved all old parts for my inspection. Let me use my guy for what i wanted and handled everything else. Bronson was great as was Tom. Had a good experence all the way around in Jax

Fantastic Folks, 2014-03-25

Needed stuffing box tightened, plus engine was overheating and needed a new sender. Spoke with Tom Jones, who suggested we should go to the St George Island Marina next door because our 37' boat was too small for their lift and he thought they could do the work with the boat in the water, and they called St G marina to let them know we were coming. Arrived on Friday afternoon and they saw us coming down the river and were at the dock 10 minutes after we tied up; called me Fri evening to verify the part had been ordered from Yanmar and it would be in Monday evening or Tuesday morning. They were at the dock Tues morning and completed the work quickly. These folks really know what they are doing and they are highly professional. I recommend them without any hesitation, and the costs were very reasonable.

If you have a hull problem or need bottom work this is a great place. Work is done on time! Yard is clean, equipment is maintained and people are all very friendly. Prices are reasonable and the staff makes any time on the hard enjoyable.

Personal experience, 2012-12-05
Captain: , Jacksonville Florida (417)

I've spent many many months in several yards in Georgia and Florida, and this place is TOPs! If you're pulling out, check the tide because it can run there by the gantry, but Clark and the guys there are GREAT. They know what they're doing for sure. They won't give away the farm for free, if you need something, you'll pay for it, but hey, they're in business to make money. Here's the difference, attitude. They were very friendly and ready to help. I also saw how they treated a 'problem customer' and they again showed their knowledge by self restraint, and a willingness to help where they could. It might be a little far from the closest West Marine, but there are a couple of companies working out of the yard, and I would bet that they can get anything you need within a couple of days. I'm going back there the next time I need to get into the yard. Kb
