Reviews for St Croix Marine
A victim of its location, 2017-02-18
Captain: , Annapolis MD (390)

As others have noted, the staff is nice, it seems to be a quality working boatyard and the store is very well-stocked, but we can't recommend staying there, even though they seem to be pretty much the only game in town (on the island) for larger boats or boats that don't want to be in the boonies. It's not the company's fault but the island's. The harbor is very exposed to the east and north, wind and waves have free rein and the chop from passing traffic doesn't help. We liked the island and really wanted to stay longer, and I expect that would be case for many other boaters as well, but it's an inhospitable harbor that damages boats, snaps docklines, rips fenders and frays nerves. One would think the government would be able to get its act together on a protective breakwater, etc., as has been planned for years, and such would be a small investment for a significant boost to the island's economy, but for whatever reason they just can't get it done.

Forget it - not really a full service marina you will be an experiement, 2016-06-19

Stay away if you are wise. Unprofessional, lacks skills, disorganized should I go on?

Rust in the water, 2016-05-05
Captain: , Rochester, NY (70)

I filled up with water from the fuel dock a week ago and just discovered that the is a substantial amount of fine rust particles in the fuel dock water. I had to open up and clean my water tank. They're nice people, and they did suggest I run the water before putting in the tank, but it's something to watch out for.

Very good store, 2016-01-19

Customer service, 2015-11-13

I often frequent St. Croix Marine for various parts and supplies. When I went in today to purchase spark plugs I was immediately greeted by a new face I had not seen there before. I believe her name was Beth? Now those of us that live here can relate to the fact that at times customer service on this island can be well...lacking. That was far from the case today! I was impressed with Beth's knowledge and professionalism. Thank you St. Croix Marine!

Judd Tinius is now the yard manager. We needed a complex repair that involved hydraulic, metal, and fiberglass. They did an outstanding job in less than two days even though the yard was already busy. Great dock, although there is some surge.
Good bar and restaurant in the yard, and just a short dinghy ride to town.

Good yard, great service., 2013-01-08
Captain: , Yorktown, Virginia (391)

Service yard is good people...great rates and well stocked chandlery/hardware store. Casey, the yard manager, knows his stuff. The slip for the lift is easy to get in and out of, and the restaurant at the marina is good too. A little far from the boardwalk at Christiansted, but still walkable.

Con: $100 mandatory haul insurance, non-refunadable.

Positives: Nice harbour, very close to town boardwalk. Marina personnel were very helpful. Shower facilities clean.

Negatives: Marina is not well protected. It is wide open to the North. While we were there, wind was out of the north creating constant motion at the dock.
