Reviews for Spring Brook Marina
Excellent Serivce, 2016-10-21
Captain: , Ft. Collins, CO (249)

We stopped here for a night. Had a Ray Marine Chart Plotter issue and Shawn dianosed the problem as the back light stopped working. Since it was out of warranty he pulled the unit and sent it to Ray Marine for repairs and will get it to me at a marina down the river. He also fixed a leaking fresh water line. Service was prompt, cuourteous and reasonabley priced. I will stop here again next time by.

Nice place, 2016-09-27

Tues 9/6/16, Stopped here in the morning for fuel after not being able to make it the night before due to long wait at locks. Fuel dock only open on weekends but no problem with them filling us up. After talking to the service manager who fueled us, we ended up staying for 2 days while their mechanic did some excellent work on our boat. They are the #1 dealer for our brand of boat and it was quite an opportunity for us. Very nice people. Nice facility but the restaurant and bath house are quite a walk from the section we were in, especially in the rain. Courtesy vehicle for us to use for the 2 days was awesome. Other than the on-site restaurant, which was very good, nothing else within walking distance.

Nice place to stop for overnighter, 2016-09-14

9-1-16 We for forced to stop here due to lock delays. This was a well protected marina with a good price/ft. The marina staff was very helpful. We did not use the facilities, but the restrooms were quite a walk from the boat slips.

Good and Bad - but overall a worthy stop, 2016-09-01
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (2434)

The good things first:
$1 per foot as of Sep 2016; nice, friendly office staff; courtesy car; decent docks; good power

The not so good:
Depending upon your dock location, things are pretty far; men's bath/showers very industrial and not very inviting; two out of four showers had clogged shower heads with barely a dribble (don't know about women's since wife would not try); no Wi-Fi, no gas grills for transient use.

Note on grocery store: Google maps show a Bellatini's but there is none. There is a Seneca Food mart next to the Ace Hardware on S Main St, but do not expect too much. They sell liquor but the selection is pretty limited, too.

Had everything, 2016-08-08

Most helpful staff; aranged mechanic.. had a loaner car; left boat there for 60 days.. very reasonable

stayed 4 nights., 2016-07-27

Stop here! The restaurant is perfect with ice cold beer and good food. Had a heat exchanger replaced and the service was also perfect. These folks are very helpful, very dog friendly, quiet, great access, lots of shade, courtesy car always available, weak Wi-Fi, old docks, scary showers but the people are so terriffic we can't complain.

Good stop, near lock, 2015-09-17
Captain: , Ft Myers, Florida (1663)

Stayed on fuel dock. Arrived after they closed. No protection from wakes but had no issue overnight. Good restaurant on site. Men's Bathroom was terrible, filthy dirty disgusting.Left early in morning paid with credit card over phone. Plenty of depth.

Excellent Marina, 2015-02-18
Captain: , Braceville (98)

Great service center, lots of transient docks, and great restaurant.

Good Stop Good Service, 2014-10-03
Captain: , Green Cove Springs FL (1380)

Stayed the night of 9-30-14. Rate $1.00/ft Inc 50 Amp.They set us up on the Fuel Dock. Harbor Master Tammy, gaves us updates during the day, on Tows going past her window UpBound and we had a good feel for what our delays would be going Down bound. So her comment: "If you make it here today" from Joliet was well founded. She understands Tows, the River and delays and was very gracious. Good Office staff. They were ready to help with Travel Lift if we needed it as we picked up something in the Lockport Lock which gave us a nice Port Engine vibration. Backing up and turning boat along the way waiting for delays worked it all out. Thanks Tammy for your efficient and courteous service.

OK stop watch your depth, 2014-09-06
Captain: , Palm Beach Gardens, FL (1897)

We spent one night on the fuel dock after a long 10 hr trip after waiting 3+ hours on a lock arriving in the middle of a crazy thunderstorm, we would have liked to hold outside the marina until the storm passed but the office lady said we close at 5 sharp and we had to be checked in by then or not get the loaner vehicle we needed to run passengers a few miles south and this was at 4:55pm.
There was a 20' limb hanging off the side of the dock which made docking very challenging, when asked if someone would move it so we wouldn't impale our boat they said no one was available.
Bathrooms were clean the loaner vehicle was very nice.
The owner manager was super nice but our power tripped on the 50 amp and then again with a reverse Y we tripped the twin 30's which was a first for us and the breakers were locked inside so we couldn't reset them after everyone went home at 5pm
We draw 5'7 and had about a foot under us getting in to the fuel dock but the actual marina is about 4'
We appreciated them making room for us and it was close to the Marseilles lock this morning but a little more compassion from the office lady would have been nice especially given the heavy winds, thunder, lightning and torrential rain when forced to coming in.

Good Basic Stop with One Huge PLUS, 2014-09-03
Captain: , Wickford, RI (550)

Head and showers are basic and long way from dock. Good dockage rate; very inexpensive restaurant/bar with good food, good parts and service departments. They willingly lent us their van for trips into town: grocery is well stocked, one or two decent restaurants.

Protected harbor, good price, 2013-08-22
Captain: , Hollywood, Md (30)

Very narrow, unmarked entrance to tight quarters. Low floating transient dock. No cleats. Heads and showers a long walk from dock. No laundry, but they READILY loaned us their 12 pax van to go to town. Cheapest rate we've seen in a commercial marina. Nice people. Helpful parts and service manager.

Good safe stop, 2010-09-04

Nice stop before Marseilles lock, 2010-08-19
Captain: , Foley, AL (985)

Friendly staff, newer courtesy van. Good place to do a oil change. Well maintained premise. Good pork chop dinner.

Best in Illinois?, 2010-05-04
Captain: , Seneca, IL (13)

Previous review said it all. I bought my boat from Kyle and had a great experience. Everyone is super helpful and nice. Service is a little pricey but they fix it right the first time.
Beware no gas on weekdays!
Restaurant is awesome, never had a bad meal.

Top Notch, 2009-06-15
Captain: , Seneca, IL (10)

Top notch service and sales. New Carver, Cruisers, and Marquis Dealers.
Always has a ton of new, used, and brokerage boats to sell. Service department is the best on the river.
Great restaurant too!
