Additional info:

Approach

From the north: After passing under the Card Sound Bridge southbound on the ICW, continue in the marked channel to day mark R26, then set a course of 220°mag. As you approach Main Key, stay well off the southwest point. When day mark R2 bears about 330°mag, set a course of 331°mag, which will bring you into Manatee Bay.

From the south: After passing through Jewfish Creek northbound on the ICW, continue in the marked channel to day mark R30, then set a course of 329°mag into Manatee Bay.

Across Manatee Bay: The courses above will bring you to Glades Canal day mark G3. If your draft is more than 3 feet, stay out about 200 yards until day mark G3 lines up with day mark G5, then proceed in, between the day marks and the pile of fill to the north. After a bend in the canal to the left, you will see the marina ahead.

Single very steep ramp. Works well for deep keel sailboats, not so well for shallow draft boats. Well water wash down hose at the top of ramp.

Reviews for South Dade Marina
Trailer Sailor Launch, 2014-01-04

Crowded but great in and out place. They are gated at night with person living on property to keep your vehicle safe. They charge $10/night for trailer and vehicle storage. Very helpful staff. Staff will open gate after hours, just blow horn.

Bob and Rafael are the best.

best launch site for trailer sailors, 2013-02-22
Captain: , NORTH EAST, MD (125)

A very friendly and helful staff here. Parking for truck & trailer was $10 a day, which is by far the best deal around (if you can find storage). The facilities are alittle aged and show it, but launch your boat and move on. There is nothing here ( a soda machine) or even close by. Plenty of water in the canal, but follow the channel closely and observe the shallow waters on your chart when getting out into Barnes Sound.
