Reviews for South Carolina Yacht Club
Magnificant Yacht Club, 2016-06-13

One of the nicest clubs you can find anywhere. Located in lock controlled Windmill Harbour, with awesome Clubhouse, Staff, Pool, Tennis, etc, etc. Proud to be a new member!

Great Marina and Stop for shelter, 2013-11-26
Captain: , Vandemere NC (418)

Came in 11/25/2013 for a couple nights to escape storm moving east and high winds and rain. This is an amazing place, definately a must stop. Entering the lock coming in is a bit daunting but staff is great and provided a lot of guidance and help. Once in the marina it is like a different world...calm, no wake, no current and the keyhole marina provides shelter all around. You would never know that there was a storm and tornado warnings going on just outside the lock. Reciprical Yacht Club makes it a very economical stop, in addition access to marina and private community facilities make it a really amazing place to "rough" out a storm delay. This is a beautiful location, excellant facilities and a great stop. Staying an extra day !

Beautiful facility, 2012-11-24

We spent about two months at Windmill Harbour this past summer and had an opportunity to tour the SCYC. It is very impressive, and the staff appears to be well-trained and friendly. Although we weren't members of a reciprocating club, we were offered free, one-month access to the Club. We never got around to avaiing ourselved to this offer, but we probably will on our next visit to Windmill Harbour.

FYI, besides a restaurant, the Club has a beautiful swimming pool and sun deck and nice his and hers dressing rooms, showers and saunas. The entire facility is quite impressive.

Have stopped here before., 2011-11-19

11/13/11 Stayed 3 days. This is a first rate stop located in Windmill Harbour Marina, MM 558, home of the South Carolina Yacht Club. You enter by calling the lockmaster on channel 14 . After going through the lock you are in a marina with no current or tidal issues. SCYC has face dock space for 2 boats at $50 per night. You need to be a member of a reciprocating yacht club. Great meals are served Wed. thru Sun. at the yacht club restauant. Staff is very friendlyand the atmosphere if lovely. You may have to dock without assistance. This is a must stop. Marine repair companies are available at the surrounding Hilton Head area and can come to your boat for minor repairs. This is a great place to walk and jog. The visitors center is about 1 mile up the road out the gate. The museum has been moved further out.
Other slips may be available through the marina. It's worth checking into.
