Reviews for South Bay Marina
Nice facilities and crew, 2016-08-12
Captain: , Seattle Wa (200)

We stopped here to prep our boat for shipment to Seattle. All of the staff was very helpful including Dave (service manage), Andy (Harbormaster) and Mikaila (Dock hand and restuaruant worker). The only negative was that the marina is in an industirial area and there is nothing near by except the local yacht club. They had OK wifi. We would go back if we needed a good marina in this location. They did a very good job getting the props off and the boat loaded onto the truck trailer.

Very Nice !!, 2016-06-17
Captain: , La Crosse, WI (627)

One of the cleanest and nicest marinas that we have stayed at. Very secure. They have trailer storage (large public boat landing next door - deep enough for trailerable trawlers. Swimming pool and restaurant on site. Floating concrete docks. Helpful staff. And did I say Very Clean?!

The place to stay in Green Bay, 2016-06-15
Captain: , Huntington Harbour, CA (317)

This is probably the best place to stay overnight. We were not here during football season. It's out of town. This is a working mans town, no frills. It's a $15 UBER ride each way to Lombeau Field which we enjoyed seeing even though we aren't big football fans. Enterprise rental cars go fast so if you want one, especially on a Monday or during football season, make a reservation. The best part of this place is that it is a short walk across a couple of parking lots from the Green Bay Yachting Club - fabulous and welcoming group of people. We were there 3 out of the 4 nights we were in Green Bay. This is a big U shapped marina - all of the ammenities were at the opposite end of our slip. Also, the gate is closed at night and doesn't have a people gate - we had to squeeze between the gate and a building to get out - if you are planning on going out after hours and don't have a car you might want to talk with the crew about how to exit the marina. No problems getting back in with their fobs.

The best in town, 2015-08-12
Captain: , Madison, WI (430)

August 12 and our 4th night slipped up on D dock. I wouldn't trade this boaters experience for anything. Great staff, Andrew (Harbor Master) will go way out of his way to make sure your stay is above par. No tourism here, just a great place to hang your hat. Plan to taxi to Wellington's, McGreggor's, the Ten o One and you'll so much appreciate Green Bay eats and beer. There are Packers players everywhere. Expect good old Wisconsin friendly folks. If you're not good with being asked to join in for cocktails on the neighbor's boat, don't stop here. Pool, laundry, showers, lounge and Louis's Lagoon all enhance the stay.

Top notch marina, 2014-07-29
Captain: , Greeen Bay (44)

South Bay is situated at the mouth of the Fox River and the Bay of Green Bay. The staff at this full service marina is friendly and very accomodating. Loui's Lagoon on the premises offers drinks and a limited menu of food items. Times vary. Shower facilities are clean and a there is a pool. Plenty of grills and the most beautiful view in all of Green Bay.

Only downside is the distance from downtown, but with City Deck open on the Fox River you can tie up and walk to a number of local restaraunts including Titletown Brewing, and Hagermiester Park.

Green Bay Police, Brown County Sherrif, and Coast gaurd all have vessels slipped here and they are out on a regular basis.

Long Tail and Little Tail are favorite destinations to throw an anchor and get wet, if you can stand the murky water!!

Beautiful marina - crummy location, 2012-10-24
Captain: , Green Bay, WI (400)

Excellent facilites including docks, restaurant/bar and pool. Boaters lounge open 24/7 with AC and TV - nice! Staff outstanding. Great view looking toward the bay. Warehouses and smokestacks otherwise, with nowhere to walk GBYC close but also gated and hard to get into/ out of. Don't wanna be there when wind is from southeast becuase the Metropolitan Sewerage cleaning ponds are just the other side of those warehouses...Still the nicest marina in Green Bay.

Excellent Marina, 2010-01-04
Captain: , Green Bay, WI (179)

The service at this marina is excellent. Dock hands are eager to help. The dock master goes out of his way to be sure everyone is happy. Facilites are clean and the grounds are neat and well maintained. The docks are concrete and wide, and manuvering space within the marina is excellent. There is a little bar with limited menu on the grounds. There is also a heated pool, boaters' lounge, and shuffle board. The marina is in an industrial area of Green Bay, so there is nothing of interest directly next door. The downtown area which is a mile or so away can be accessed by taxi or by bicycle (available for free from marina) or by a short cruise down the river with some short term dockage available in that area. Note the marina is gated, so if you plan to stay you should pick up a pass card from the harbor master so you do not get locked out after hours.
