Reviews for Solomons Harbor Marina
GREAT VALUE, 2015-10-18
Captain: , East Falmouth, MA (1533)

We had to leave our boat here for 4 weeks and were looking for the best price in Solomons. Not only was the rate very good, but as it turned out we enjoyed the week we spent there on the boat. Dockmaster John Landry was very accomodating. He gave us a hotel key, a discount card and a tour of the facilities. The cards entitled us to use of the pool, coffee and daily newspaper, gym, rest rooms (very clean), outdoor grills and tsbles, and discount meals and drinks. It was like being at a resort. Theis is not a restaurant review, but I feel compellrd to comment on the food at Issac's. I have never been dissappointe in the food at a Holiday Inn. I expect mediocre food and get it every time. Stayed here again 09/15/15. Still all good. Found a great seafood rest./market nearby.

Why Stay Anywhere Else in Solomons?, 2015-09-19
Captain: , Oriental, NC (190)

We stayed in Solomons Harbor marina for 2 months (July thru September 2015). Most of the other marinas on this creek are much more expensive than this one. In my opinion, it is hard to justify the extra expense. Docks are in good shape. Bathrooms are clean, well-maintained and stocked with hotel toiletries. You get free ice and access to the Fitness and Business Centers. There wasn't Wi-Fi on the docks when we got here but that is being fixed. If they get the repeaters installed, then the signal on the docks should be very strong and they will get a 5-star rating. Dockmaster John is accessible and always willing to help. If we are back in the area, we will undoubtedly stay then again.

A little further, but worth it., 2014-08-26
Captain: , Baltimore, MD (185)

This marina is a little further "up" the creek than some other excellent options, but it's worth a few extra minutes. If you have guests a very nice Holiday Inn is right here as well as a huge pool, restaurants, and convenience store within easy walking distance. The walk to "downtown" is only about 20 minutes. Staff is great to deal with and rates are more than fair. If you time your visit right you can catch a concert next door at the Calvert Maritime Museum (we've seen Bill Cosby, Bad Company, and Journey on different visits). We've found the slip-holders to be quite friendly over the years.

Quick over night, nice!, 2014-06-22
Captain: , Arnold, Md (50)

Called us in the morning to verify our arrival, dock hand on the end of a T head to greet us, good power and water, sturdy docks...what else could you want?

Solomons Harbor @ Holiday Inn, 2013-09-30
Captain: , Sandwich (692)

Great location for Food Lion. A 15 minute walk all sidewalk. 10 minute walk into town for restaurants/bars. Washer/Dryer. Gas grills. Ladies shower connected to workout center. No locks. There is a handicap access shower that is private available to both men and women The Holiday Inn and the marina are rustic. Overall a good stop heading south. Honors MarinaLife discount and discounts the daily rate for every additional overnight.

Great location and marina, 2013-08-27
Captain: , Weston, VT (550)

Spent 4 nights at the end of one of the T's. Two friendly dockhands greeted us and helped with the lines. Docks are fixed but very sturdy and in great shape. Tide is minimal. Got a tour of the Holiday Inn by Danny (dockhand) who showed us the facilities. Close to West Marine and with our bicycles everything was within a reasonable distance. Even used their tennis courts. Will certainly return.

Next door to Westmarine - good dockhands, 2011-10-03
Captain: , Poughkeepsie, NY (5686)

We were greeted by a very friendly dockhand upon our arrival and he was expert in handling our lines, much appreciated. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The advantage of this marina over ones closer to the entrance to the creek is that it's closer to Westmarine and Food Lion. WestMarine is just across the back lot, about a 5 min walk. Food Lion is about a 15 minute walk. There's a county bus that runs every hour on the hour to a nearby shopping center (Walmart, Target, etc.) that leaves from just behind the Holiday Inn.

Of great benefit is the pricing that decreases with each additional day until it's only $1/ft per day on the third and following days (see dockage for details)

As a marina guest, you have full use of the Holiday Inn facility (showers, exercise equipment, sauna, etc.). The docks are fixed but and functional with electric and water. You are very protected for all weather.

We keep coming back, 2011-06-10
Captain: , Vero Beach, FL (10)

Since our first visit in 1997 we continue to stop at the Holiday Inn (now Solomon'Harbor Marina). Upon registration, slip holders are offered a tour of the resort and its facilities. Boaters enjoy use of the huge swimming pool, impressive work-out room, spotless tile and marble bathrooms and showers (maintained throughout the day by the hotel staff). Boaters are considered guests of the hotel and may partake of free coffee and newspapers in the lobby on weekdays. Also on weekends, there is usuallly live music at the outdoor Tiki Bar. Like many large marinas on the ICW, it is best to contact Solomons Harbor by telephone prior to arrival.

Horrible Hospitality, 2011-06-09
Captain: , Montreal (201)

Couldn't get an answer on the VHF after many calls and once in the office got a very cold welcome byn the young lady there, as if I was disturbing here. The Dockmaster was out so she could not tell me anything or assign me a doc. Wanted a dock for 2 nights being Thursday and Friday. She would not let me used the washrooms of the marina, had to go to the hotel. She came back at the boat some 30 minutes to tell us that there was no place for us supposedly being full for the weekend. I told here the weekend was 2 days away and half the docks were empty, but she would hear anything. As we were trying to reorganize ourselves, she ordered us on VHF 16 to leave the premises immediately. I think a murderer would have been treated better. We are on our second loop and never got such a horible and poor hospitality. So just stay away from Solomons Harbor Marina, they do not deserve to be in business. Wish them the same treatment as the one we received from them.

Very nice inexpensive marina, 2011-06-07
Captain: , Sarasota (1427)

Update: Found out that there are several buses (jitnies) that will take you to the main local shopping areas. One will take you across the bridge to Lexinton Park (Target, Walmart, Sam's, etc) for 50 cents. You catch the bus in front of the old Woodburns Market - runs on the hour. Others go to Prince Frederick (nearest "big" city).
Spending a month or so here. Having the access to the amenities of the the Holiday Inn (pool, tiki bar, restaurant, laundry, workout facility) makes this marina superior to the other inexpensive marina in town (across the creek). Live music outside on weekends that isn't obnoxious. A strip mall is a short walk (post office, 2 Chinese restaurants, 7-eleven, and bingo), as is the maritime museum. Staff is very helpful. Very protected - minimal tidal range. Pretty setting.

Solomons Harbor Marina, 2011-05-24
Captain: , annapolis (391)

Just spent 5/21/11 and 5/22/11 at this marina. All were helpful and efficient. Dockhand Bill very efficient and informative, and young lady in office pleasant. Dockmaster John, when told we had to leave a day earlier than we had reserved for, promptly returned amount we had paid for extra day. Facilities clean. Docks in good but not luxurious condition.Unfortunately Woodburn's super market out of business so food, etc about 35 minute walk or can use trolley.

Great Stop!, 2010-10-07
Captain: , St Louis (671)

We have stayed here multiple times over the last 3 years. The dock master John Landry is super helpful. Having the facilities of the Holiday Inn available is fantastic %u2013 swimming pool, showers and laundry. Very convenient to multiple restaurants (we like the specials at the Naughty Gull on Tuesday%u2019s & Thursday%u2019s), Woodburns for gourmet groceries, West Marine, a post office %u2013 all within walking distance. Plus it is nice & protected being tucked in at the end of Back Creek.

Great Place to stay!, 2010-09-05
Captain: , Port Canaveral, Fl. (241)

Spent a week here, early Sept. 2010

Marina staff is first rate. Close to shopping and West Marine. Clean heads in the Holiday Inn.

Very friendly place.

Great fuel prices and pumpout $5.00, 2010-08-17
Captain: , Houston, Texas (164)

The fuel price was $2.66 for diesel. Easy to tie up to the face dock. Easy Fit for a 50 ft. trimaran and a 42 ft. catamaran at the dock at the same time. Free p.o. is available at the community dock nearby at the creek west of the Back Creek .

Great spot, 2010-07-23
Captain: , Marlton, NJ (171)

Friendly staff. Close to restaurents and shopping. Beautiful grunds, cocktail lounge. Great restaurants right next store. Diesel available at marina next store but closes at 5pm. Cam in late(6PM) one night and the dockhand waited for us to help us dock. Showers are unbelievable.

Solomons Harbor Marina, formerly Hospitality Harbor Marina/Holiday Inn, 2009-08-19
Captain: , Crisfield MD (74)

Just returned from a 3 night stay with 2 other boats. Staff and accommodations are great.. Plan to return in September. Spend several nights there last year.

Great Place, 2009-07-31
Captain: , Solomons, MD (20)

This is my home marina. It's nestled in Back Creek which affords some protection in wind/weather. Attached to the upgraded Holiday Inn, the bathrooms/showers are clean and stocked, there is a pool, Wifi at the docks, gas grills and overall great atmosphere. Don't miss a drink at the Tiki bar by the marina. John the Dockmaster and his team will take great care of you!

Nice stop over, 2009-07-21
Captain: , Nabbs Creek (188)

We pulled in on July 4 for the fireworks and stay at Holiday Inn. John helped with getting a good price on the room. The fireworks were great.

Name changed and new management, 2009-06-13
Captain: , Fort Lauderdale (1288)

When we arrived in June 2009, we found that the marina is now called Solomons Harbor Marina, rather than by the former name (Hospitality Harbor). Although this is not a resort facility, the adjacent Holiday Inn has a pool and all the amenities of a resort. Marina facilities have been upgraded to some extent, with a new dockmaster's office, new signage, very clean heads and showers (including a small fitness center), wifi at the head of the pier, and more. The new dockmaster/general manager is John Paul Landry, and he was there to take our lines. Resturants, excellent gourmet grocery store, and West Marine are all within easy walking distance. You can also launch your dink and gain access to all of Solomons by dinghy, something we enjoyed. This marina seems to be continuing the fine reputation it established under previous ownership, and I'll be back!

Good spot. Best thing is access to the gourmet grocery for restocking. Quiet
