Reviews for Snug Harbor Marina
Beautiful Facilities and Great Staff, 2016-08-07
Captain: , Chicago, IL (22)

A full service marina with a fully trained staff. The location is great and staff not only pumped the fuel and did the pump out, they helped connect power cords and insured all our needs were met. We will definitely be back to Snug Harbor!

Great marina in a beautiful harbor, 2016-07-22
Captain: , Naples, FL (682)

This is one of the prettiest harbors on the Lake. The marina is well inside the harbor and protected from any swells from outside. Itis well run with friendly and efficient staff.
The heads and showers are clean and modern. The marina also has a very large laundromat with some 22 large washers and 16 very large commercial driers. Wifi is very good.
The main street is adjacent to the waterfront and has a variety of stores and restaurants.

Good Marina, Good Service Dept., 2015-08-23
Captain: , Little River, SC (1967)

We came in here after a very rough ride from Manistee. I discovered two of our 8D batteries were shorted out. Talked to Service Manager Eric in the morning. He ordered the batteries and promised to have them installed that day. He delivered on his promise. Were not that impressed with the town. Restaurants were OK but of the barfood variety. Our dinners at Gull Landing were very good. The Marine store on the main drag was very interesting. A mix of old nautical items as well as new marine parts. They had a good selection of parts.

An Absolute Gem!, 2015-08-21
Captain: , Marathon, Florida (110)

First class marina with competent staff! Efficient docking, pump-out and all the services you could ask for in a full-service marina. Town is quaint tourist/retirement area and downtown as a variety of shops & restaurants. If you are lucky enough to belong to a Yacht Club, don't miss the Pentwater YC - just down the waterfront from Snug Harbor. It's a friendly club with nice bar, outside dining and great food!

Snug harbor rocks, 2015-08-20
Captain: , muskegon mi (185)

While anchoring in Pentwater lake we had some engine problems. i called Snug harbor marina at 9pm and no one answered the phone but the message gave a cell phone number to call if it was urgent, i called the cell phone number at 930 pm and the owner answered. He was very understanding and happy to help us with our problem. There was a mechanic at our boat at 9 am the following morning, which was anchored at the little bayou anchorage. The mechanic, Andrew, who also happend to be the owners son, had our engine running in about two hours and was very proffessional. Later that day when we pulled into the fuel dock at Snug harbor Andrew stopped what he was doing and came over to see if our engine was still running okay. Overall i was very impressed with all the staff at Snug harbor, and plan on stopping there when ever in town.

Beautiful and Great Crew, 2015-08-10
Captain: , United States (10)

This Marina is candy to the eye. The landscaping and flowers are awesome. But before you can enjoy the beauty you meet a great crew on the docks, ready to fuel, pump out, catch lines, and assign docks. They don't just give you a number, when you arrive at the dock they have already beat you there ready again to catch lines, make sure you have plenty of cords to rech the power boxes and hose to the water lines. A large grassy area, BBQ grills, and tables at every slip. Come for one night, and I'll bet you stay more.

Good Harbor and staff., 2015-08-06
Captain: , Burnham Harbor, Chicago (251)

The Snug Harbor facilites and staff were top notch. The Harbormaster even lent me a 10' 50 Amp extension cable so I could reach the box while bow in. I took one star off for the vibe of the town. We kept finding things not to like about it. I suppose we'll have to give it another try some day.

Very nice facility!, 2015-06-17
Captain: , Bloomington, IN (156)

Clean, beautiful grounds, nice shower facilities. First rate. Grocery store across the road, but extremely high priced! How about $3.99 for a bar of soap, or $3.99 for a dozen eggs or a HALF gallon of milk!? Town is wonderful, with quality shops, most reasonably priced.

Great family owned marina, 2014-08-22
Captain: , Fort worth (172)

They also give an AGLCA discount. There dock hands are very professional and know exactly how to get a boat in and can actually tie lines. Not a bunch of college kids.
We loved the town. Very walkable and just enough to keep you busy for a day or two.
The lake is very calm and people obey the no wake rule.
The marina wraps around its own beautiful grassy park. Barbecue grills and picnic table almost at every other slip. The wifi was fast too. That was a first.
I'd go back here in a heartbeat.
Oh nice bathroom/showers also.

Excellent Dock Help, 2014-08-17
Captain: , Milwaukee, WI (358)

Arrived on a Saturday evening in August... we took the last spot on the wall (no slips left). Excellent help docking. Close to town, groceries, and only 15 minutes to the beach.

Excellent Dock Staff, 2014-08-09
Captain: , Saugatuck MI Cape Coral FL (193)

Very helpful and couteous staff, clean facility, mini-store across street, quiet!!

Great Town, 2013-02-06
Captain: , Lakeside Yacht Club (250)

Marina is very good. Saty on the wall if possible. Steel docks can be challenging in wind. Fantastic general store across street. The downtown is close and has lots of chosices for dining and shopping. Live entertainment at a couple outside bars. A favorite spot

Nice Place, 2012-07-28
Captain: , Cincinnati (1810)

Well maintained place with nice public areas with grass and tables. Close to town very walkable area. Deep at slips. The whole bay is 30-50 feet deep which makes anchoring here difficult.

Extremely helpful staff, 2012-04-05
Captain: , indiana (331)

Excellent customer service. Nice facilities and just down the hill from town.

Right in town, 2011-11-03
Captain: , Newport, R.I. (644)

Good location to visit local shops and markets.

Nice Facility, Even When Crowded, 2011-08-26
Captain: , Muskegon, MI (138)

Chances are you WILL be sharing a dock if you're less than 40 feet, but the dockhands here are great and will arrange boats based on length of stay so no one gets in each others' way. They'll also lend you shore power cords and hoses if you are far out on a slip.

The marina facilities here are top notch including a really nice laundry. Pentwater is also home to the cutest chandlerly I've ever seen. Don't recall the name, but it's about 2 blocks up on the main street, just across from the municipal marina. If you need basic parts or boat supplies, this is a great place to stock up.

Overall, it's a cute town and worth a stop for a night or two.

Loopers Discount, 2011-08-18
Captain: , Austin, Texas (1774)

It is hard to compete with the prices of the city marinas, but Snug Harbor has done it. They are offering a 15% discount for Loopers which makes them very competitive. Add to that great facilities, very helpful dockhands, and being right in the center of Pentwater, you could not ask for more. This is a great stop.

Great Place to stop, 2011-08-17
Captain: , Warsaw, Ky (875)

Well staffed with knowledgeable dock hands. Spent 3 days here due to weather. We were here the weekend of "Homecoming" and enjoyed the town and festivities very much.

Nice restaurants and shopping.

Very pretty town with grocery store and marina store., 2011-06-28
Captain: , Oriental, NC (1148)

Pentwater is a great stop-over place. Well protected and has most everything a yachtie needs.

Great Place, 2010-12-06
Captain: , Delafield, WI (90)

Very clean with knowledgable help. Nice protected and quite stop. Locals were very friendly. Great town to spend some time in. Nice grocery store across the street. Good stores in town.

Really Nice!, 2010-06-07
Captain: , Grove, OK (337)

Snug Harbor is one immaculate place. Helpful docking, reasonable rates and one of the nicest laundry facilities on the Loop. The laundry is actually a public laundry attached to the marina office. It has many, many washers and large dryers. A bit pricey per load, but the place to stop if you need some clean skivies. Very, Very nice access to downtown Pentwater which is a nice stop.

Pentwater and Snug Harbor, 2009-07-01
Captain: , Howard Prairie (500)

Pentwater is very a very pretty town. There is a new grocery store right across the street from Snug Harbor, marine supplies just next door as well

Snug Harbor, 2009-06-07
Captain: , Clear Lake, TX (694)

Fixed docks, convenient to nice town and services. Dock personnel were good. Showers & restrooms were across parking lot. Have a 2 night minimum sometimes.
