As you approach from the north, you pass under the big bridge at the Coast Guard station and proceed to the end of the first mooring field. Keep to the west shore. A new channel (indicated by markers 1 and 2) will start at this point. The channel is well marked. Stay in the center of th channel. At low tide you will see a low point of 5.5 feet between markers 4 and 6. Around markers 17 - 19 there will be a point of land to your starboard (west) side, keep clear of the point, favor the greens. As soon as you get past the point favor the shore (get away from the greens) very shallow out there. Stay close to shore all the way to the marina at marker 24.

Reviews for Snook Bight Marina
Terrible Experence, 2016-10-04
Captain: , Florida (10)

1. They do not apply rules to everyone (boats stick out of slip by 8ft)
2. Corp CEO and COO do not return calls
3. Over Charged me by more that $200

Did not stay here, but..., 2016-02-15
Captain: , Cocoa FL (400)

Was staying at mooring field and needed to get my mother-in-law to a medical clinic, and Snook Bight was the closest place to grab a cab. Called ahead and we told where to park dinghy, and we met on the dock by an attendant. Desk staff called a cab for us and wished us well...no discussion about dinghy dock fees, etc. I can't any anything about the facilities, but we'll definitely stay here in the future if for no other reason that how we were trreated when we needed a hand. Thanks Snook Bight staff!

Tricky getting in, 2016-01-02
Captain: , Fort Myers (749)

Snook Bight is a lovely marina situated two miles from the epicenter of Ft. Myers Beach. Its far enough away from the hubbub but close enough if you want to take it in and endure the tourist crowd. The dock staff is wonderful. They do a great job. The facilities are first class, on par with any marina weve been to. The showers/laundry are on par with a first class spa. Spotless. The docks are floating and in perfect shape. As mentioned, Publix is in the parking lot and the beach right across the street.

The challenges that Snook Bight has are that its pretty far back in Estero Bay. There is a marked channel but a few shoals along the way that make it difficult to get through with our 5 foot draft. The last 50 yards prior to the marina are particularly shallow and needs to be dredged. Even at high tide we have only about one foot below the keel.

Snook Bight will not give out confirmed reservations for winter liveaboards until mid September. So even if you want to confirm a year in advance you will have to wait until a few months before to find out if you can stay there. We have been told that they prefer long term tenents and if they can get someone to commit for a year they would rather have them than someone who only wants to stay a few months. We found this disconcerting.

They also charge your credit card for one month's dockage in advance and then charge another month in advance as a security deposit. So the first day there, you are charged for two months.
They will give you one month's dockage back as a credit when you depart. I think this is a 'money grab' as they have your CC number on file and can charge your card if something were to happen.

There is also a 50 minimum length charge for all slips. If you are less than 50', you still must pay that rate.

Finally, the current really rips through they marina. Plan to arrive at slack tide for a less strenous docking experience.

Great marina with great amenities and friendly, courteous attendants. Clean facilities, nice pool, Publix and trolley stop out front, and on the premise restaurant Bayside Bistro excellent dining experience.

Very nice marina, 2015-12-14
Captain: , Bay St. Louis, MS (734)

Stopped in here to fuel up. Staff very courteous and helpful. Fuel dock was a zoo, as they also do pontoon boat rentals. The had to move them out of the way to make room for us. Only one diesel pump, so our buddy boat had to wait to come in until we were finished.

My only complaint was that they gave my buddy a $0.10/gallon discount on fuel. He only took on 200 gallons, I took on 500. I did not find out about it until we were anchored back up in the mooring field. Too late then.

Marina has everything, 2015-11-17
Captain: , Dunedin, FL (6484)

I've rarely given 5 stars to a marina, but Snook Bight deserves it. From the first phone call to the prompt answer on Vhf as we approached. Fuel dock is attended full time, no waiting for someone to come out. Multiple hands helping with docking. Solid docks with center well pilings, large cleats. Marina store fully stocked, nice (but expensive) restaurant on site. Very large & clean restrooms, showers, large well-lit laundry room, pool. Snook Bight is right next door to Publix, so provisioning is easy. Gulf Beach across the street, Ft. Myers Beach Troilly passes frequently. Best fuel prices around. Also, we left on a low tide, least water we observed was about 5.5 ft.

Loved this location!, 2015-08-19
Captain: , Cape Coral, FL (118)

Snook Bight is very modern and it's obvious someone invested a lot of money in it. We LOVED that the Publix is basically in the parking lot. Kept me from having to provision before we left Cape Harbour that morning. Also the onsite restaurant was very good. It's a nce place, so be repared for that. The laundry room was great, and the lockers/showers were top notch. Great haul-out and boat yard if you need work too! Even the ship's store was awesome, with a great supply of items. Nothing bad to say about Snook Bight. We will be back.

Excellent Customer Service and Facilities, 2015-02-28
Captain: , Green Cove Springs, FL (333)

Heading north, I needed a place to stop. I had been 6 days on the hook. Snook Bight Marina, has clean facilities, showers, laundry, ship store. Publix is the other end of the parking lot. Deep enough water for my 6' draft and the dock hands could not possibly be more helpful. Knowing I had a full Keel, they had me pull to the floating dock and helped pull the boat into a slip. The reverse was true when exiting. This was by far the friendliest marina I have come across in Florida... east, west coasts or keys! ... and the rate was very reasonable.

Watch the current, 2014-09-19
Captain: , Cape Coral, FL (396)

Newly remodeled - very nice marina. Ship%u2019s store. Nice showers and bathrooms. On site restaurant on site, good (but a little expensive). Full service marina. Dockside pump out $5.00. Grocery store about half a block away. Cheap trolley rides to downtown (or as far south as Lovers Key). Walk across the street for beach access. No shops or attractions near the marina.

Downsides %u2013 Tidal current can be bad for docking. A skinny approach channel at low tide. Slips provide no good place to bow tie a boat over 40 ft. but they will make it work.

Great place, 2014-08-20
Captain: , Vero Beach, FL (654)

We came it for a couple days of rest found boating friend from home and stayed a week. Be sure to get a weekly rate for 5 days or more. Publix right behind the marina 5 min walk. the beach is accross the street, with nice sun sets every night. Not too far walking or biking to some cafes all with a sun set view. Staff was very attentive.

Beautiful marina!, 2014-06-15
Captain: , Chicago, IL (998)

It's smaller, and a bit pricey for us, but very well run with excellent amenities. We draw 4'6" and approached on a rising tide - saw 5-7 under us once we passed the mooring field heading south. Current can be a factor in docking; dock hands were waiting to help us tie up. Very scenic area with miles of mangoves, dolphins playing in the pass, manatee swimming thru the marina, and beautiful homes along the canals. Not the commercial hubbub you get with Ft. Myers Beach proper. Publix is across the parking lot, excellent fine dining at the Bistro, beach is a short walk acorss the street. We'll be back.

Captain: , Traverse City, Michigan (20)

Great facility with new floating docks and updated electric. New hurricane resistant indoor storage. Swimming pool, showers, laundry facilities and gas grilles available. Free wifi, great dock hands, fuel dock with gas and diesel. Supermarket and public transportation less than 1 block away. Only 1 block to beautiful sandy beach.

Snook Bight (Mid-Island), 2013-11-24
Captain: , Orange Beach, AL (356)

Spent one night on lay wall. New floating docks, good power. Decent dock store, nice bar and restaurant. Short walk to Publix Grocery. White sand Gulf beach within a couple blocks walk. Lots of restaurants and bars within a couple miles.

But...difficult to get to get to the marina. Really need local knowledge. And significant tidal current, so plan accordingly.

Snook Bight Marina...best Estero Island marina, 2013-11-23
Captain: , Fort Myers Beach (23)

Have visited there some 10 times since July of this year. Staff is very friendly, deck hands are always willing to help or chat. Bob, the fork lift driver, is the best....extremely careful of our boat. There is a full Publix grocery store on site. Club like ammenities include outside bar, full restaurant, ship store, swimming pool.

Not Club Freindly, 2013-04-24
Captain: , Cape Coral, FL (334)

The new docks are a hugh improvement and the dock hands were very professional and helpful. We were one of 13 boats from a club. Since our last visit they seem to have change their focus from transiets to permenents. There was no "club rate" which essentially all marinas in the area provide. There is no area for groups to gather for social functions that is under cover. The restruant which has a $41 per couple special including a bottle of wine is now available only to groups of 8 or less. Our price for the same nenu was $29 per person, almost a 50% premium. I will not return and don't know if the club will.

Great Stop, 2013-04-23
Captain: , Stuart FL Middletown RI (240)

Cruising from Florida East Coast to the West Coast we developed engine problems in one of our Yamahas. I knew from a visit a couple of years before that Snook Bight Marina had outboard mechanics so we made a reservation and limped in. The crew at Snook Bight were able to diagnose and repair the fairly significant problem in one day -- very competent and helpful group!

We ended up staying a couple of days and had a delightful time. Snook Bight has excellent floating docks and the place is well maintained. It has good showers and heads, a Publix grocery adjoining the marina, and there is a fine but expensive restuarant on site.

You can walk across the street to a gorgeous beach, and there is a trolley system that we used to tour Estero Island.

Overall, Snook Bight Marina is high on our list of cruising destinations and we'll for sure stop there again if we are in the area.

Outstanding, 2013-02-11
Captain: , Stony Point, NY (852)

New floating docks are done and gorgeous. I cannot say enough about the quality of the employees/dock hands. Lenny and Greg helped us dock in a strong cross current as we came in. They gave good advice, clear signals and put their backs into the lines as needed. Every slip has a pump-out station. Full service marina and dry storage boat shed. The new shore-side facility includes the "Bayside Bistro" - excellent fare with excellent service. Pool, laundry and restrooms are new and very clean. Every aspect was taken care of by the staff.

The location is also wonderful. The marina is in back of a Publix supermarket. We provisioned and took the grocery cart right onto the dock and walked it back after unloading. Walk across the street, and you are on the public beach and can walk in either direction for miles of wide open gulf water front. There is a .25 cent trolley up the main street to any other restaurants and shops along the way including the park at the north end of Esteros Island. This is a great destination marina for a longer stay. $10./foot per week and they also have a monthly rate.

Every thing below plus, 2012-12-10
Captain: , Lake Ozark (10)

The new docks are 99% complete. New floating docks were installed summer and fall 2012. New pump out in slips are not working yet but will be soon. every one is Helpful and friendly.

Rickity fixed docks, 2012-01-01
Captain: , Pinnacle, NC, USA (1340)

The amenities and close proximity of a Publix got us here, but their fixed docks with 2'wide x 10' long fingers, with a power pedestal out at the end are a hazard to people, and in particular to pets. So we will go elsewhere even while rating them 4*. As is so often true, transients are not high in their business model because the approaches are too shallow for most such traffic.

Great stay, 2011-03-05
Captain: , Foley, AL (985)

We loved being here, plenty of great restaurants, especially one on site. Publix is next door to Marina. The beach is just across the street. Sand is hard enough to bike on. The trolley makes it easy to get around to shops and ship stores. Use nextbus.com and rideleetran.com for Trolley and Bus routes. New docks are being built this year. Snook Bight Yacht Club Marina now members of the Yachting Clubs of America and offered us a 10% discount on the monthly rate. Well maintained marina with excellent staff. Very clean laundry and restroom/showers.

Overnight at Snook Bight Marina..., 2010-10-16
Captain: , Gulfport Florida (162)

We draw 4'6 and arrived at low tide. Close to Snook Bight Marina we brushed the ground 3 times. STAY CLOSE TO THE DOCKS, AVOID THE MIDDLE OF THE CHANNEL. The channel is not maintained.

The facility is first rate, very nice. Docks a bit shabby. Great showers/head/laundry.

We stopped here because of the Publix in the front parking lot. Great place to resupply. Topped off our fuel, food, and booze lockers, heading south.

October 2010, $2.25 a foot. No discounts. Nice staff. Ships store is a bit pricey, but as boaters, we all appreciate paying extra!

Exceptional staff and services, 2010-07-23
Captain: , Snook Bight, Ft Myers Beach (10)

Excellent facilities; staff is extremely helpful and friendly; two outstanding restaurants -- Bayfront Bistro; and the Sushi Bar. Nice being so close to Publix for last minute food and beverage for a day of cruising.

Shallow approach, nice marina, 2009-11-12
Captain: , Ft. Myers Beach (263)

Snook Bight is a great place to stop at if you don't draw to much. The marina is right next to a big Publix supermarket, making stocking up on food very convenient.
Marina has indoor and in-water storage. They originally attempted to sell the in-water slips but where unsuccessful. Marina is open again to transients, monthly, or annual dockage.

absolutely great restaruant., 2009-07-21
