Additional info: Open year round but weekdays only between January 1 and March 31.

Approach Little Wicomico River jetty from red daymark 2LW - pass into the river entrance between R4 and G5. The channel was dredged in 2010 and is uniformly 8-10 feet deep.

Proceed up channel to G7 - keep to port.

At G7 turn right (shoal water ahead and to the left where the old ADC chart shows Leroy's Marina (Leroys is not there). Follow the channel to the right to R8 - keep R8 to starboard.

Pass G9 to port. Close to this is G1S (S as in Sam), which marks the entrance to Slough Creek. Turn left, keep marker to port. If you pass G11, you have gone too far!

On entering Slough Creek, look for R2 - keep marker to starboard.

Next marker is G3 - keep to port. Next marker is G5 - keep to port - channel is narrow here and comes close to the opposite shore but has 4.5' MLW.

Next marker is G7 - keep to port. Keep marker R8 to starboard as you approach the fuel dock.

If in doubt, call Smith Point Marina on channel 16 or phone 804-453-4077, or Smith Point Sea Rescue on channel 16.

We just stopped for fuel. It is very tight getting to the marina. Use the markers they are there for a purpose.

trust me.

ok place to stop, 2015-06-26
Captain: , Colchester, VT (120)

Rustic but clean. Staff is friendly but not much else there. if you need to stop for a night great. But it is remote from anything I would make sure the weather doesn`t force you to extend your stay. We were grateful for our one night as we traveled a long way.

four stars for excellent professionaiism and friendliness, 2015-05-15

this is a good facilility for the wearry traveller, bucololic in the extrem; we biked to Reedville and thoroughly enjoyed the fisherman's museum ($3 per person for seniors). Getting lunch was a bit of a challenge as the local food places are open when they are and closed at all other times. We found good fish sandwiches at Cockrellil's Seasfood in Fleetson, a few miles south.

Alll in all, I would definately recommned this marina, full service on a small scale, run by Dan and Jean Hickey, retired militaary and charming hosts. The entrance can a bit hairy at low tide and a strong tidal flow at the inlet can make this an exciting approach.

They have a marine store with excellent prices and some really tasty cans of Virginia peanuts. They also fill propane.

We came in to escape the seas on the bay but will make this a stop even if its calm in the future.

it's a dock, 2014-06-11
Captain: , Buzzards Bay (391)

Not much more than a dock. On a Monday was told its a 40 mile cab ride to any place to eat? It was late so I ate on the boat and did not research it. $1.75 a foot plus electric with boat US discount. (Wish I had sprung for a $econd 30amp cord, it was hot and stuffy. Could not pump out as I needed to provide my own connection, he said he only has trouble with Trawlers. Very quiet not much to see but a boat yard.

Don't let the creek entrance fool you. It is very straight forward getting to this marina. Follow the marina's instructions found on their web site, proceede slowly and you will be fine. You will find a very neat and clean marina with a very friendly owner and staff.

Nicest Little Marina You'll Ever Visit, 2011-09-21
Captain: , Smith Point, VA (10)

Not only is Smith Point Marina convenient to the bay for transient boaters, it is owned by two very accommodating people. Dan and Jeanne Hickey will make you feel right at home there. The bathrooms are clean, the laundry, handy, the pump out works, and the fuel dock approach straight forward. Don%u2019t let the entrance intimidate you. The tidal range is just 1 foot. Stick to the channel. It is well marked but markers 5 and 7 are not charted. There is a bit of shoaling near marker 7. Even though it was dredged in March 2010, favor the south jetty when entering Little Wicomico River for the deepest water.

Nice marina, 2010-09-22
Captain: , Block Island (1679)

I stayed here in 2006 and found a friendly staff and clean facility. Not much in the way of nearby services or shopping, but they might have a loaner car. Great spot to wait out bad weather, especially now that the entrance is dredged.

Best boat yard and marina on the bay. Dan is first class all the way. Retired Navy.
