Reviews for Sixhaven Watersport
small and tiny marina, 2014-10-05
Captain: , Eckernfoerde (410)

Sixhaven is not recommended for boats bigger than 40ft. It is possible to enter with a little bigger boat, but it should be well maneuverable. The pontons are very close together and their is not much space. If you enter the lane between the pontons forward, you have to leave backwards.

Good location but packed and tight, 2013-09-01
Captain: , St-Jean-de-Losne (146)

Yes with the ferries it is near to the central station. But that's it all. The place is tight, most of the time packed. And when it is windy you better have some crew ready with fenders at hand. The harbour master with its wishle did hardly speek any English and has serious memory problems :-) We stayed 3 nights mid-April and then luckily found the new Amsterdam Marina.

Like a cork in a wine bottle, 2012-11-15
Captain: , Jaluit (622)

The fairways are tight. We are also 16m. and I just can't imagine what it would be like to arrive here in the summer without a specific place to go. As to using the ferries, there are two different stations. You can turn left out the door and go over the lock or turn right and use IJ Plein. The ones to the left of the dock ususally have two ferries running and run all night.

This place is amazing. Don't forget to buy TimeOut Amsterdam for the best information on museums and restaurants. It is a monthly.

Cosy and neat place, 2012-06-18
Captain: , Lelystad (10)

Even with our ship at length 16 mtrs we found a good place (but were lucky this was free) but since the harbour is relatively small you have to know how to use prop-walk. Friendly crew, simple but neat accomodation, very convenient for a city walk.

Downtown Amsterdam, 2012-06-07
Captain: , Orust (1833)

So quiet, but only 5 minutes away from the Centralstation. Free ferry ride every 6 minutes 24h/day.
Marina crew very friendly.

Nice close to the centre of Amsterdam, 2011-07-20
Captain: , Lemmer (202)

Nice, cheap and clean marina close to the center of Amsterdam. Free ferry to Central Station!

Bumper boats in summer, 2008-12-10
Captain: , San Francisco (161)

This marina has the advantage of shelter from passing river traffic, no bridge or lock openings required, and easy access by free ferry to the heart of Amsterdam. In the summer it's packed. Afternoon entertainment is provided by the boats coming in and trying to find a space. It's good to be on your boat then to fend off. I liked it, but my husband hated it. We were both glad that our boat wasn't longer than it is (12.5 meters).
