Reviews for Sister Bay Marina
Very Nice Marina, 2015-09-11
Captain: , Burnham Harbor, Chicago (251)

I'd say that Sister Bay Marina is pretty solid. Good protection from waves and a very nice sunset ;-) The town is a bit of a bore in my opinion. We ate breakfast at Al Johnson's (goats on the roof) so I guess we did Door County. We also made the considerable walk to CHOP for dinner. It was worth it. They have a 3 course deal from 5-5:30 for $19.95 It was quite a deal!

Door County is delightful, 2015-08-31

Sister Bay is a bit touristy -- but very nice. Provisioning is easy and plenty of nice restaurants and bars nearby. And the fresh corn and local cherries are fabulous. The marina is nice -- with good showers and docks.

One of our family favorites for decades, 2015-07-27

If your in Door county with the weather bad this is the safest place to keep your boat to ride out the weather. Beautiful sunsets, nice parks, stores and resturants are all here. We visit each year as a family tradition. Staff will help you dock and answer questions about the general area. Good launch ramp and they have trailer parking for extended stays if you want to take a extended boat trip wherever. We used to launch here and cross lake Michigan and come back in a week or two with no issues. Good hardware store a short walk.

Just left for home. I really enjoyed my stay at this marina. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My dock was practically new. The electric takeoff pedestal was nice and clean. I will be back.

Nice marina, cute town, 2015-06-07
Captain: , LaSalle MI (575)

Marina was well kept, some floating some fixed docks. The marina is right in the middle oftown with stores and shops both directions on the main drag. Many restaurants to choose from, Grasses is highly recommended by these two highly satisfied diners. Everything is made fresh from scratch. Beer and wine, no liquor.

Sister Bay is a great place to visit, 2014-09-01
Captain: , Nowhere,OK (1314)

The dock was ok, the staff was very nice, the town is very cute. Everything is within walking didtance except the Piggly Wiggly market. Lots of concerts and activities on the weekend.

A little weird on the reservations. Need to make reservations 5 days out. Otherwise start calling at 7AM to get put on the waiting list and then call back at 10:30 to see if they will have a spot.

Lots of help and a nice facility, 2014-08-26

We stayed August 23 & 24, 2014 and enjoyed our stay. Like others have commented the bath house is not new but well kept and very clean. Dock hands remembered you and were always very accomodating and helpful.
The town is close with plenty of resturants and refreshment stands adult and otherwise.
With the boat ramp always busy I was concerned about the wake from boats heading in and out, but was pleased to find for the most part everyone very courtious. Even at early hours, low voices and slow exits.

Great dock staff, great location, 2014-08-10
Captain: , Dunedin, FL (6425)

The fixed docks are a little worn, but adequate. Staff responded immediately on VHF, someone at the dock to help with the lines. Restrooms clean but could use updating. Close to restaurants, ACE hardware, 3/4 mile up a hill to Piggly Wiggly. A lot going on in and around town, lots of music and other festivals.

great clean marina, 2014-08-05

Great Marina and Super Staff, 2013-08-26
Captain: , Green Bay, WI (400)

We came twice this season and look forward to many more visits here. Wendy the harbormaster and her team are always extremely helpful and courteous, and everyone, locals, rampers, even the tour/rental folks next door are very friendly. Great docks, both folating and fixed, located across the street from several outstanding restaurants, including Al Johnson's with the goats on the roof, and plenty to do during the day while quieting down after dark except for 2 or 3 party spots. Lots of boats (sail as well as power) using the launch ramp. Bathrooms clean but dated. Coffe good!

Nice Marina in a Great Location, 2013-07-08
Captain: , Portage Indiana (503)

Excellent and attentive staff as others have stated. The marina's location right in the heart of Sister Bay is it's best attribute as it was a short walk to great dining and shopping. The docks are nice, but the bathrooms are a little dated(but clean). The entrance channel to the marina is well marked and easy to navigate.

Extremely Friendly Staff, 2012-08-14
Captain: , Milwaukee Yacht Club (90)

Wendy the new harbormaster has done an excellent job training the staff and taking care of customers. The facilities could use some updating but the sunsets are amazing. Be sure to walk up to Husby's for a beverage and take the dinghy over to Fred and Fuzzy's (little sister bay).

Friendly Staff, 2011-08-09
Captain: , Milwaukee (40)

Very nice marina. Clean and the staff is very friendly. Nice park and beach area nearby. There is a gas station across the street near the north end of the marina, if you need to fill a portable gas tank.

Nice marina with a couple fun places to see nearby, 2011-06-27
Captain: , Quarterdeck Marina (117)

We always spend at least one summer weekend at the Sister Bay Municiple Marina. It's clean and has well kept facilities. There is a small park next door to walk your dog. Yacht Works, with full service capabilities and an extensive range of parts and "boat goodies" is just a mile down the road. JJ's La Purta restaurant and bar is next to Yacht Works. Ya gotta have at least one Bernie. And, it's close to a number of anchorages and other marinas. Labor Day is the big annual party for Sister Bay, fireworks and live music!

This is the place to stay to see the goats on the roof ....., 2011-01-25
Captain: , Chicago IL (133)

Nice marina - a short walk to restaurants - even the one that has the goats on the roof all day grazing - the crepes are delicious - and there is a good beach for swimming - Door County shopping (read tourist) but a good jumping off place for Washington Island and Port d'Mort to make a run for Michigan or down (south) Lake Michigan.

strange town, 2008-12-29
