Reviews for Silver Bay Marina
Silver Bay Marina, 2017-06-17
Captain: , Pikes Bay (10)

Beautiful marina which is a relatively easy sail from Bayfield. The facilities are clean and the staff are very helpful. Great view from the clubhouse. Lots of transient slips and I never saw less than 10 feet of water. However, on a previous trip, I was put in one of the larger outer slips on the B dock, and hit an underwater chain with the keel (our boat draws 7 feet).
My wife meet me with the car so we could explore the area, which is beautiful. Awesome views and delightful atmosphere at Northern lights restaurant a couple miles down the road in Beaver Bay. Drive either north or south from the marina is beautiful. Tettegouche state park has great views and easy hikes.

Nice sail from the Apostles, 2015-11-02
Captain: , Bayfield, WI (80)

Silver Bay is a great and relatively easy sail to the North Shore from the Apostles. A chance to get some open water conditions without venturing to far. As previously noted, Marina is in excellent condition, staff is very pleasant, and even when a fishing tourney was occurring the weekend I was there, plenty of slips were available. Only drawback...not much else available outside the marina.
Take a bit of extra time to venture north up the shoreline to get a view of the Palisades Head cliffs.

Beautiful Marina, 2015-09-08

As previous reviews have said this Marina continues to be a very clean and quiet marina. Might be lucky to catch an ore boat enter the docks on the other side of the break wall.

Nice facility and people, 2014-08-02
Captain: , Seattle (131)

Actually, the marina deserves five stores but it really is a harbor of refuge. The only thing nearby is a small overlook gazebo that's worth the very short walk to read the interesting information boards. Immaculate restrooms, good docks, friendly folks. And we saw a beaver swimming in the harbor. They are also stunningly effective at keeping all the tour boat visitors off the pleasure boat docks. Quiet and pleasant,

Nice marina, 2012-08-26

A nice marina in (another) pretty north shore setting. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the facilities excellent. The staff will provide a lift to town for supplies on on request.

Little jewel of a marina, 2012-07-31
Captain: , Bayfield WI, USA (742)

First class faclities. Lots of transient slips; almost assured a spot unless a weather window is shutting down. Only downer is that NOTHING is within walking distance. Shuttles to local business are a hit-or-miss affair and cannot be counted on.

Great Stopping Point, 2011-09-21
Captain: , Duluth (86)

The only reason I am rating this a 4star as opposed to 5, is because of the distance from town. It is a good 1 1/2 to 2 miles from the nearest store.

That being said, it has to be one of the cleanest facilities I have seen. Somebody there has a true passion for maintainence! The folks are super friendly and helpful.

The dockage rates are good for transient, and I would say quite resonable for sesonal.

The people at Silver Bay Marina are wonderful. Getting around depends on taxi service or the restaurant owners will send a car to pick you up.

The Marina is new as of 1999 and is sparkling clean.

The wreck Hesper lies off the breakwall in very accessible depths making for an enjoyable dive site.

The breakwall runs from mainland to a small island which can be explored.
