Reviews for Silva Bay Resort and Marina
Well protected spot, 2017-05-23
Captain: , Pender Harbour, BC (411)

Extremely friendly and helpful wharf staff, quick to offer up extension cables etc. The floats are wood, in pretty good shape, with good power. No water available on the docks, typical of the gulf islands and their water shortages. I believe there is water at the fuel dock (needs confirmation ... I saw somebody with a hose!) The restaurant is good, great patio, and there is a nice coffee booth at the head of the pier with breakfast items and loads of tables with a great view. Showers/restroom could use an update.

Shut out of the pub...., 2016-08-08
Captain: , Novelty, WA (214)

Shocking, but true. Came over from pages marina next door for dinner. Showed up at 8pm for dinner with the 4 kids and the Admiral.

Was told they were way behind, and food would be "at least an hour".... Never mind that the place was half empty and didn't seem at all slammed- and that the hostess told us no problem until "the boss" came over and shut us down. So we left.... And wrote this after having Mac and Cheese for dinner.

Thanks Silva Bay Restaurant... Capped off an otherwise perfect day...

things good and bad, 2015-06-14
Captain: , Anacortes Washington (45)

The person on duty when we arrived was very personable and helpful. The docks are fine now, much better than our last visit a number of years ago. The restaurant up above the marina was very good and the liquor store was well stocked. My only complaint is that no work at all seems to have been done on the restrooms. Very filthy with poor showers. If that is important to you, be prepared to be disappointed.

Poor service at fuel dock, 2015-03-27
Captain: , Vancouver, BC (20)

After explaining that I needed fuel and water, the attendant said "no problem". After I had fuelled (completely unassisted), and found the water hose, she said "Oh, we don't have any water." Her general attitude was unhelpful and unfriendly. No help was provided in docking or undocking.

Come for the scenery, not the facilities, 2013-06-17
Captain: , Anacortes, WA (220)

The bay and various islands are a wonderful location in which to play. Just beautiful as we watched jellyfish pulse below and eagles soaring above.

The facilities are a bit tired, but very serviceable. The staff is welcoming, but they don't go out of their way to make you feel genuinely appreciated.

Be that as it may, we regularly stop here on our way to/from the Sunshine Coast as it is exceedingly convenient.

A favorite stop., 2012-09-13
Captain: , Bellingham, WA (77)

Have stopped here several times over the years. Always found the staff friendly and helpful. Docks are well kept up. This year the food in the restaurant was exceptionally good. Great field above the marina for dogs to play in. Fastest and strongest wifi we've encountered to date in the Gulf Islands. This is a good jumping off spot for crossing the Strait of Georgia on the way to the mainland coast, Desolation Sound, etc. The direct route passes south of Whiskey Golf so its status is not a factor.

Seen better days, 2011-03-12
Captain: , Sidney BC (582)

I remember this spot from twenty years ago and it was a lot better back then. Seems run down and a lack of care on part of management is evident. Still a great spot to stop after go through Gabiola Passage if you want to stay overnight and tackle Prolier Pass the next day.

A little rough., 2009-08-25
Captain: , Cowiche, WA (350)

Nice little marina, but lacking in friendliness. Store is well stocked and fuel available. Can get slammed by the winds. Not our favorite place. Gabriola Island is worth exploring, great artist work, amazing petroglyphs and nice community.

Very Disappointing, 2009-07-02
Captain: , Bellingham, WA (50)

Very run down and dirty. Overpriced and unfriendly staff. Beautiful setting could make this a premier destination.

Very Windy, 2009-06-30
Captain: , Vancouver BC (500)

Be aware that this location is usually windy, anchoring is not easy as locals use this as permanent mooreage, swing room is reduced, holding is usually good but watch for wind and be ready to re-locate. This area is the junction between weather systems, north of Nanaimo and South of Nanaimo.

Captain: , Blakely Island, WA (372)

Excellent harbor to hole up in while waiting to cross Gerogia St. Good holding ground for anchoring. Great restaurants and well stocked store for groceries, liquor.

Hot Weekend Spot, 2007-08-04
Captain: , Vancouver BC (11)

This marine is hopping on Friday and Saturday nights with live music - patio and indoor pub restaurant. Local Massage therspist provides a much needed massage on the deck over looking the water (foot/hands or back - $1.00/minute) during the day on Saturday. Crabbing can be successful nearby and lots of coastline to explore by dinghy.
