Dont Go There!, 2017-08-08
Captain: , Green Cove Springs (81)

Went in for fuel. They overcharged us $140.00. Got a refund, but unless purser aught it we would have paid dearly for 130 gallons of fuel. As it was, our bilge pumped while at the fuel dock and they went ballistic.

After $1,681 in labor and materials and a $360 over charge, we were able to get out of the marina.

They wanted to put us in the work yard for three days or longer to tighten five bolts on the fuel sender pickup. I tightened them in a few minutes.

Don't go there, it will cost you.

Great fuel prices. Very friendly staff. We were looking for a place to hide out during the forecast two days of 25kt rainly southerlies. They would not rent us mooring or a slip. They would not rent to us because it would be so rough and uncomefortable. They suggested we anchor in Sled Runner which we did. They allowed us to use their dinghy docks for the two days we were stuck there. We took the dog ashore several times, and we were so thankful that they did not let us stay there. It would have been very rough.

Great fuel price, service not so great, 2015-08-27

We needed a couple hundred gallons of diesel so did some checking and found that Shelburne had the best price around. Called them to check on Sunday hours and were told we could get fuel starting at 9. We were prompt arriving at 9 am next morning and there was no room at all at the fuel dock. The first person we saw said something we could not hear and walked away. Then another employee came out and said the docks were full -- obvious -- and to come back in an hour. All they had to do was move a couple of small boats to raft with nearby boats and we could have gotten in there. Instead they got out the fork lift and started hauling boats. When it became evident they were hauling more than a couple of boats and it was going to take some time, we left. We were treated more like an inconvenience than a customer. Back to Burlington where we dropped a big chunk of money at the fuel dock at the ferry dock and where we were treated politely and professionally. You can guess where we will go the next time we are in Lake Champlain. Money isn't everything. I give them a 5 for price and a 0 for service, averages out to a one * I think.

GREAT SERVICE, 2015-07-29

When I called to arrangeto have my Sat TV antenna removed for my trip down the Champlain Canal and fill my fuel tanks, Bruce, the service mgr. gave me an appointment at my convenience. When I pulled up to the fuel dock he sent Steve, the technician right out. He removed the antenna promptly and courtesousy and I was on my way in less than an hour. The bill for the service was very fair. Best fuel price around AND great service. I would return.

Awesome Service!, 2015-07-16

I'd been having trouble with a recurring AIS fault since installation and Belinda trouble shot it down very quickly and resolved it! They are not set up for transients, but made room for us with electric service too.
Fuel price was $2.75 for diesel.

Fuel Price Today, 2014-06-19
Captain: , Portland, Oregon (576)

Diesel today, June 19, was $4.00 per gallon.

Captain: , Willsboro Bay Marina (2412)

If you need boat parts pronto... Bobbi Morrow the Store Manager will get them for you. The office personnel are just great. (Bruce, Mary, Karen, Jim, John, Heather) They will help you if you have any questions. Belinda is most experienced in electronic / electrical trouble shooting. She has extensive knowledge of Power boats and Sail boats.

Because of their reputable workmanship, you may experience delays for work order to be done as they are quite busy. Nonetheless, it is worthed to be patient and you will be rewarded by the results.

Free Wifi and excellent off road Diesel (Ethanol free s'il vous plaît!) at a very fair price. This is why I always fuel there and my fuel tanks and fuel filters are happy.

Aborted Winter Storage Plans, 2013-10-17
Captain: , Port Huron (423)

We had planned to winter the boat here but at the last minute they were thinking that we may be too heavy (25-30K pounds) for the ground they had left to block us up. They were willing to lift us to weigh the boat but we decided to make other arrangements. We did stop here for fuel ($4.00/gal diesel) and pump out and found them to be very nice.

Great Services, 2013-08-13
Captain: , Winter Garden, Fl (2350)

We stopped for fuel, water, and a pump out. The fuel prices were the best we've seen on the lake. The water was VERY good - and the staff were very helpful & attentive. Ship's store was well stocked, even had some basic staples - milk, bread, etc
Very busy place on the weekends!

Great fuel stop, 2013-07-16
Captain: , Dunedin, FL (7374)

Best fuel prices on Lake Champlain. Very helpful dock staff. Fully stocked ship's store. But no room for transients on their docks.

Lots of resources here, 2012-06-09
Captain: , Cape Coral FL (4187)

Goot prices on fuel. Way cheaper than across the lake in NY. This was $1.50/gall cheaper than Willsboro Marina.
However, they dont monitor the VHF radio, which completely baffles me. No disount for cash purchase.
Great marina store. I bought a pint of vernish that was the same price as West Marine...Yeah I know thats high but for a marina, its not bad and there are not a lot of marine supply places up here.
Nice people who work here. Coffee is $1.50 in the store, Kureg machine. If you need any work, this looks like the place.

Shelburne Shipyard Lake Champlain:
We pulled in for fuel (best price on the lake at $3.99 for diesel) and found one of our Interstate 4D batteries was frying itself. I asked for a mechanic knowledgable on electrics and one arrived in 5 minutes. He tested all three batteries and the suspect one was indeed bad. He began disconnecting while another yard hand departed in the pick up for the interstate dealer and a new battery. The new 4D was installed, tested and we were on our way in just under two hours. I think this was exceptionally good, fast and professional service. The people were friendly and helpful. The price was very fair. I would recommend this yard.

One of the best, if not the best, yard I've ever dealt with. Every employee is very professional and friendly. Discovered a problem with a shaft saver that I was unaware of when trying to diagnose a totally different problem.

This is a very active yard, and is the oldest continuously operating yard in the United States. They have 22 full-time, year-around employees who take care of a lot of boats both in the water and in the winter on the hard.

Marina is not really set up for Transients, but can accomodate on a first come first serve basis. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. Dockhands are particulary helpful. There is a "no tip" policy - ignore it - the dockhands do a great job - even came on the boat to help guide to dock space. Moorings may also be available, but you need to use your own dinghy to come in to the dock. Large dinghy dock, but you will have to squeeze in to get a space.

This is the place to be if you need work done on your boat. Full repair services available. Fully stocked ships store.

Not close to any other services - no restaurant, bar, groceries, etc. Must take a cab to town.

Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (644)

This is a long time full service experienced marina and yard. Consistently the lowest diesel price on Lake Champlain.

Transient dockage is expensive ($2/ft in 07) and the docks are not well protected from the bay so expect some rolling.

Very well equiped shipstore and highly experienced service staff and mechanics.

No town or services nearby, somewhat isolated near end of a long point of land.

Repair services, hauling and storage. Not transient friendly. Basically, fuel up, pump out and go.
