Reviews for Sheepshead Bay Yacht Club
Great People, 2016-07-06

SBYC is a great club. Our experience started badly because my impellar failed in the channel, but out came the SBYC launch, driven by the comodore no less, to tow us in. The people we met got nicer from there. Great facilities, showers, bar, grills, picnic table and plenty of restaurants and stores just outside the gate. Great place helps you forget about the all night fishing and party boats.

"THE" Best Deal in New York, 2016-06-09
Captain: , Bay St. Louis, MS (120)

We are on a mooring ball here for $40 a night. easy walk to the subway. Showers, Bar, and boat shuttle too. It's all here for just $40. You might have a small wake frome a few of the local fishing boats buts its well woth it. Very Nice People too.

friendly, welcoming, great launch service & bar, 2016-06-06
Captain: , New York, NY (92)

telephoned in advance to take a morring same-day. They could not have been more welcoming and accomodating to us. Very friendly. Great launch, great facilities. Hidden gem. Tough channel coming in, lots of shoaling. Great stop-over.

$40/nite, unbeatable price for the NYC area, 2016-05-30
Captain: , South Portland, Maine (847)

We have been here a week and do not notice the prior reviwer's issue with attitude, wakes or noise. The folks who run this place are great from the launch operators (service included in mooring fee) to the shore staff. The bathrooms are very clean though dated but the price is right. We were here early in June so perhaps it's different in the summer heat. Subway to Manhatten is about an hour, and a bit of a walk to the station (1.2 miles) but an easy walk. Provisioning at Cherry Hill Gormet (.8 miles, again an easy walk) is NOT to be missed.

Nice club-Friendly people, 2014-08-12
Captain: , Atlantic Highlands (214)

Nice folks at the club but the harbor has the New York attitude. Big wakes and loud boats at 1 am are the norm. Not to mention the sirens that scream all night from Brooklyn. Not the place for a restful sleep on the mooring.

Fun times at the bar, 2013-08-04
Captain: , New York, NY (21)

Spent a night here when a regatta was delayed a day due to weather. Was fairly calm in the bay, and a great time at the bar. Well run club, I hope its the same post-Sandy.

Friendly but loud, 2012-06-14
Captain: , Altantic Highlands (166)

This is a great location for a family trip. Accessilble and friendly. The people at the club could not be more accomodating. And there
are countless restaurants within walking distance and Coney Island
is a short taxi ride away. But it is loud. The bay is home to numerous party boats which come back in very late with music blaring. If you want a good sleep (and no services) going north or south, stick to the NJ shore (Horseshoe Bay to anchor or Atlantic Highlands for full services).

I wish I lived here..., 2012-05-24
Captain: , Washington, NC (50)

If I lived here, I would join this yacht club! Very protected mooring field, great people, many great restaurants nearby. This not a "Beverly Hills" yacht club, just really nice folks who understand boaters and fishing.
