Reviews for Shaw's Boat Yard
Wintering out boat here, 2013-11-08
Captain: , Portsmouth Ri (260)

First time keeping our sailboat here and so far so good. We draw almost 6' and had an easy transit up the river. Only once did we see a depth around 10'. The rest of it was all around 18' and deeper the further south you are. When you approach the marina stay close to the marina itself. There is an exposed rock at low water, mid way from the marina to the eastern shore. Current wasn't bad, but it's tricky pulling into a slip, so prepair ahead. As for the yard itself, it couldn't be a more friendly place. Tom, is very good and if he has a problem or question with your boat he will call you first instead of just starting work on it.
We are looking forward to spending several winters here until we move south to warmer climates.

Great Old School Do-It -Yourself Yard, 2012-12-09

I stored my boat here during the winter for a number of years and I can say that there are few wood boat friendlier yards anywhere.

Great Place to Moor you Boat, 2011-01-28
Captain: , Somerset, MA (81)

Love keeping our boat here. Tom is a great an helpful owner. Rest of his team are very friendly and helpful. Navigation up here can be trickey on low water, but it can be done. We draw 4 feet and have been close to the bottom on an astromomical low tide but never touched! Peaceful and pretty place to spend the summer! Ride up the Taunton river is very enjoyable. On a blustry day it's well protected from the bay!

Old time marina, 2010-07-12
Captain: , Newtown, CT (245)

Get to know the locals...everyone was super friendly, and the show never ends. A real character yard with helpful people, pretty clean restrooms, water, electricity, good depth at the docks, and decent price ($2/ft). If you like throwback places without all the fluff, you will love this place.

Good Peaceful Spot, 2010-07-01
Captain: , Doylestown, Pa. 18902 (414)

They have ice, showers, shore power, water will make room for transients. No laundry or fuel. Working boatyard,Deli, breakfast spots and a steakhouse within walking distance. Reasonable owner Tom is very accomadating. We really liked this place. Upper dock shower area has a wonderful view of the river. Locals offered to take us for whatever we needed, good people here.

Family owned and very friendly, 2008-03-25
Captain: , taunton, ma (20)

Exellent facilities; laundry, showers, rest rooms, and ships store. Along with full service repair, haul out, and land storage. Transient slips are big and deep, but a small mooring field. Resturants and post office are an easy walk. Don't try to navigate up river beyond this point, the channel is unmarked. Approach is easy but strong cross currents can make for a tricky approach to the docks. There are plenty of hands ready to help.
