Reviews for Shamrock Quay Marina
Comfortable and quiet, 2015-03-11
Captain: , Poole (80)

There are probably not many reasons to make the trip up the Itchen, but Sham Quay is a quiet and well appointed marina (MDL of course.) It sits on a bend in the river so the tide sluices through the pontoons which can make parking interesting. Once in, it's a very comfortable place to be with friendly staff and well appointed facilities. There is a posh restaurant and half decent pub, good Force 4 chandlery and numerous marine businesses. The general area is run down but it is very close to the football stadium (St Marys.)

Sorry MDL. Must do better !, 2014-09-17

Spent one night here, left my boat for a another 4, and stayed one more. Needs must. IMHO avoid this place. Convenience is of course relative, but this was nowhere near anything! Taxi or long walk. The 'yard' areas were all gravel and in very poor condition. AND this was the most expensive marina we stayed in. (Cowes, east and west; Portsmouth; Gosport; Weymouth. On the day of leaving they offered a free night 'cos I had berthed there fror 6 nights. They would have had to pay me to stay another night, and I told them so. Try Ocean Village, as I hear it's nice.
