Reviews for Sergeant Marina
Pricey but a great location and a great marina, 2017-07-19
Captain: , Grand Haven (46)

With the water as high as it is right now the docks at Sergeant are very low, barely off the water. Other than that we enjoyed our stay immensly. Kyle (dockmaster) was very helpful upon arrival. We were allowed to use two of their 30A cables so we could plug in on both circuts vs using a y-adapter. The shower/bathroom was very clean and nicely updated.

The docks at Sergeant appear a bit unusual upon approach. The pylons are arranged in a rather mysterious way and extend well beyond the docks. It's a bit of a puzzle getting in but seemed to work well once you commit. I was fortunate to have a north wind on my arrival, however.

You can't beat the location of this marina. You're close enough to walk to everything downtown but far enough out that you won't be up all night hearing the music from the main drag. If you have a dinghy you're a straight shot across to the Red Dock.

If you're simply looking for a place to tie up and plug-in, head a little to the north to Holland for half-price dockage. If you're looking for great location and great night life, this is your spot.

We will return.

Good Stopping Place, 2014-09-16

All the mariinas in this town are pricey as it is what the market will bear. We paid $2.50 per foot. In mid-September, we stayed here a night to get off Lake Michigan. The marina is nice. Call ahead to see if they have room. The marina is at the foot of the main street and everything is right there. Kyle, the dockmaster, was quite helpful.

Good Experience, 2014-06-05

We spent one night here ealry in the season and really enjoyed it. The staff was very courteous and professional, even happily loaned us a 50amp splitter. We have two small children so it was nice being away from the party atmosphere by Coral Gables. The town is within walking distance with plenty to do. Once you get into Kalamazoo Lake watch your depth and ask for instructions if it is your first time. They don't have lots of transient slips so book in advance if possible.

Visited here for 3 nights mid- August. Very nice little marina, right in downtown but not in the loud part. Very nice, clean bathrooms & showers. Spark, the dockmaster, was extremely accommodating (even loaned us a 50 amp adaptor). Only caution is the approach, but if you pay attention to the dockmaster's instructions, you should always have at least 5 feet of water (we draw 4 1/2 feet and had no problem). This is a god place if you have a dog because it is right at a little park. Take the InterUrban Bus ($1.00 under 62; $ .50 62+) out to Saugatuck Dune Buggy Rides for something fun to do.

Clean and customer service, 2012-07-24

Made a reservation. It was waiting and ready when I arrived. Sparks was standing at the dock to welcome and assist with lines. They made it clear that they were there to help. The facility was nice and super clean. Love it when thinks go smooth as silk!

Close to town, 2012-04-05
Captain: , indiana (331)

Nice and close to town. Pricey but no more than the rest of the marinas around. Clean and helpful staff.
