Reviews for Farley State Marina
Very nice slips but it is a casino, 2017-09-13
Captain: , Port Aransas, TX (1453)

Stayed 9/11, our 2nd stay this season. Docks are extremely nice with long finger piers, wide walkways, good power and water pressure. Staff is helpful and prompt to help us tie up. Slips are a generous width for our 18' beam and plenty deep for our 6' draft. We didn't use any facilities, so can't comment on those. Wifi is unsecured and painfully slow. LIve music at waterfront bar was annoying. Restaurants in adjacent casino were horribly smoky; food at Lillie's was mediocre at best.

Now has in-slip pump out., 2017-08-27
Captain: , Spray Beach, NJ (46)

Just schedule an appointment and deckhands will pump out your boat in the slip. The cost is $5.

Really nice marina - but beware of ammeneties, 2017-08-12
Captain: , New York (50)

This is a very nice marina. Nice floating docks with good security, great electric and mediocre wifi. The issue with this place is that the ameneties are dependant on the Golden Nugget casino. We went there with our kid because they have a pool. Unstated is that the main pool was closed (on a hot summer day) for a party or something and the rest of the area was 18-plus. Really uncool. Also, you have to go through the smoky stinky casino to get to anything. I cannot believe they still allow smoking in these places. Really gross if you ask me. No chance we would eat in there anyway. The marina is nice with 8 feet a low water throughout. But the casino was really disgusting. We planned to possibly stay two nights. Left after one.

Name confusion but great marina, 2017-07-28
Captain: , Naples Florida (246)

Adjacent to the Golden Nugget Casino - slightly confusing as the marina is also known as the 'Golden Nugget Marina'.
Wifi useless - other than that first class amenities including a Chart House restaurant.

Nice marina, 2017-07-23
Captain: , Norfolk, VA (470)

Very large. Mostly large and very large power boats and cabin cruisers. Few sailboats. Excellent, well trained dockhands. Wifi was either terrible or non existent. Wifi inside the casino was little better. Overall a noisy marina with lots of boaters coming in to party, to include loudly on the docks. Showers and toilet rooms are positioned on either side of the marina and inside the centrally located marina side bar and restaurant building. Showers are part of the larger toilet room facilities with little privacy. Marina is a long walk to downtown Atlantic City. Highly recommend learn to use the public bus JITNEY system, which was very convenient and inexpensive. Walking away from the marina casino area in perhaps not a good idea. Will return to this marina, but the fact is it is only one of perhaps four ocean accessible marinas on the New Jersey coast for cruisers.

Extermly Helpful Staff Lots Of Improvments, 2017-07-22
Captain: , Charleston SC (10)

Friendly Staff!! Lots of improvements made to Fuel Dock and also offers AC discount! Great bands on The Deck! Dock master Nick was very personable and knowledgeable of the area! Looking forward to our next visit!!

Keeps getting better, 2017-06-06
Captain: , Boca Raton, FL (1522)

It's been a couple of years since i was here and there has been a marked improvement. If you have Marina Life, you will like the rates even better. I agree with the review below this one on all points except I do gamble and enjoyed the casino with great tables. We are 25' wide and on a T-head with a pretty long walk but that was fine. I noticed that the Electric on that dock had been replaced and hopefully, although not in bad shape, the wood on the docks will continue to be updated and dock folks will walk the docks to make sure that they are clean (all trash and loose stuff are removed) and organized. I will definitely be back. Traveled to the Boardwalk and was disappointed so would just stay at the marina.

This Marina and Fuel dock are great. Really helpful staff and floating docks. Remember it is an Entertainment area. No fair to complain about noise during the weekends when the great bands are playing, usually good tribute bands, and people are at the bar. It all ends pretty early anyway. Used the showers in the main building near the marina office. The were great but a little strange because the shower curtains are short and the shower sprays out into the area where you put your shoes, etc. great hot water and pressure so just need to be aware. Ate at the Chart House.. always good. Will always come back here.

Farley State Marina continues to improve w/ Dockmaster Nick, 2017-05-24
Captain: , East Coast (10)

My first Farley experience was many years ago on an Annapolis-Newport-Bermuda passage. That first impression left me underwhelmed by the previous Trump Marina management/staff - so refuel, grab the Times, and onward dodging long-liners it was.

Since then we've been back many times and have noticed a marked improvement - especially in these past several years. Absecon Inlet can be a bit lumpy in an ebb tide and prevailing onshore breeze, but once you turn the corner you'll find safe/clam waters and a friendly face.

MARINA - Under new Golden Nugget management, we've seen the facility maintained and updated (after many years of Trump Marina neglect).

SERVICES - AC fuel discount and free pump out and a decent chandlery. More substantial provisions can be made via uber to Brigantine ACME and Ocean Beverage.

CASINO - I don't gamble, but the Golden Nugget offers other entertainment options... The Deck has live music many nights through summer, especially Thu, Fri, Sat nights and Sun afternoons. It draws big crowds for favorite local cover bands like Don't Call Me Francis and B Street Band. It can be a bit loud at times, but get your dance on and join the party. Bar food is OK (e.g. burgers, pizza, nachos, coconut shrimp) - nice location/view is partially covered from elements. Or you can opt out to a Much Quieter location: the H2O Pool and Bar Grill including an outdoor fire pit. Marina guests also have access to their heated pool.

FOOD - Nice happy hour at Chart House with discounted appetizers/drinks. Starbuck's in GN Casino. Best Breakfast in AC is at Gilchrist's just across the harbor in Historic Gardener's Basin. Gardener's Basin also hosts the AC Aquarium and the Back Bay Ale House, which offers a nice selection of brewskis. (Marina location makes for a very short ride to other dining options at Borgata and Harrah's.)

STAFF - Staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive to requests. If they can't do it, they'll help suggest somebody who can. We've wintered a sailboat in the well-protected waters of the Marina in the off-season several times.

SUMMARY - GN is definitely on the right track with Nick and his team. True, things are never perfect on the water, but they prove that a safe location, positive attitude, friendly staff make for a welcome Port of Call. Golden Nugget Management is very lucky to have Dockmaster Nick and his customer-focused team.

Best Marina In Atlantic City!, 2016-11-15
Captain: , Fort Lauderdale (10)

Came through on my way south. Planned on staying only for one night, but due to weather conditions we decided to extend. Marina staff was very welcoming and helpful. They were very informative and answered any and all questions we had. They had dockhands ready to go out and assist in dockage, as well as fuel. The casino was great and we had a delicious dinner at the chart house. We will definitely be returning to this marina in the future!!

Two thumbs up, 2016-11-15
Captain: , Miami Florida (11)

After an all day trip through rough waters we needed a place to stay. We had never been to Farley Marina before and decided to give it a shot. Wanted to fuel up before docking so we went straight to the fuel dock. The dockhand, Jesse, met us out there and assisted us with fueling as well as a pump out. He then gave us a slip assignment and met us at our slip to assist with our dockage and shore power as well. We went to check in and met the dockmaster Nick. He was very friendly and had us checked in quickly. The Golden Nugget is lucky to have Nick and Jesse working for them!

Filthy to the point of being unhealthy, under staffed to the nonexistent level., 2016-10-21
Captain: , Key Largo Florida (71)

Let me count the ways: Docks covered in bird crap. Not some, not a lot but covered. Impossible to not track on your boat. No one there to help Dock despite radio and phone calls. Electric pedestal crashed and there was no one there. No internet. The best example of sub minimal staffing: the boat next to us waited 2 hours to check out - as in pay their bill but no one around. Better yet, they wanted to buy 4000 gallons of diesel, no small boat this, but no one responded.

If you want to wade through bird crap and do everything yourself, this could be your spot.

Management response:
Good Afternoon Capt.

I apologize for the issues you have experience during your recent stay. Please contact me personally at to discuss these breakdowns. I again apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you,

In Water Boat Show, 2016-10-05
Captain: , Naples FL (10)

Came through heading south to Norfolk. Didn't have a reservation and called as i was entering the inlet. Spoke to the Dock Master Nick who was extremely friendly. He made me aware that they had there In Water Boat Show taking place and that all of his 65' slips were taken due to the show. He explained to me he would do whatever it would take to find me a berth as I needed to take shelter from some nasty seas. He was able to accommodate me with a berth at his fuel dock for the night!! Not only was the Dock Master very considerate the facility was beautiful a lot to do and see!!

Management response:

Thank you for the great review we are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and that our staff was very helpful! We look forward to seeing you again soon!!

Came to see AC Air Show and docked at Farley we were met by a dockhand who tied us off and gave us all rhe info we needed to get around. Office staff were friendly. Bathrooms and shower were meticulously clean and air conditioned, as was the areas around the docks. Locked gates to get on docks was an added bonus. Great place to dock and enjoy AC.

Good comms as we were approaching, excellent dockhand help getting into the slip. Live music band at the end of the slips was a bit loud but they only played until 11pm. Gotta remember that it IS AC and a casino!

In need of updates, 2016-07-27
Captain: , Mystic Island NJ (10)

Second year in a row staying here for my wife's birthday as she enjoys the casino and dining. First year someone stole my old analog TV antenna off of our arch. No surveillance on the docks and after filing a report got no further response, apologies, comp, nothing. This year there were no incidents like that but we were put in a slip right smack in the middle of a group we didn't even know! The party went deep into the night and we were stuck right I the thick of it. They have wifi but if you're on transient dock H your phone or laptop will never even find it! So I guess they don't have wifi at all docks. The bath house for men is old and dated and offers no privacy once you step out of the shower so you are shoulder to shoulder with naked strangers on weenie row, not very pleasant at all. Of course the surrounding casinos are great and the jitney service will get you to any one of them for $2.25. With a facility facelift and more thoughtful planning of transients this would be a more enjoyable experience.

Management response:
Captain Dave,

On behalf of the Golden Nugget I would like to apologize for the inconveniences you experienced during your stay with us. Please feel free to contact me personally for any future stay you may have planned with us. In regards to our WiFi i apologize it was not functioning during your stay with as we are in the process of upgrading our system and hope to have it complete very soon.

Thank You,

Nice Marina - Needs Some Work, 2016-07-27
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (124)

I have stayed at Farley many, many times over the past 15 years. I have always enjoyed my stays in Atlantic City. Being right at the Golden Nugget Casino, you have access to all of the amenities that are offered. However, the docks (especially F Dock where we have stayed the past four years) is in need of repair. You can't walk without getting splinters, and there are weeds growing out from teh cracks between the boards. For this reason, I now rate the marina three stars, rather than five.

Management response:
Captain Rob,

Thank you for the review. We will be sure to have our maintenance staff make the necessary repairs .

Thank you

Pricy but better than it used to be, 2016-07-18
Captain: , North Myrtle Beach, SC (3210)

We decided to stop here for a treat after years of anchoring or staying elsewhere. It is a nice place and if you want to see Atlantic City, this is a good choice. The other marinas are either too far away or you take a bus, which is ok, but Atl City is getting a little seedy. 3 stars due to price. Staff is good. outside the casion areas. Chart House resturant is not nearly as good as the other ones we have eaten at such as in Florida. We recommend you not eat there.

Management response:
Captain Winter,

Thank you for the review!

Like AC itself, Looks Better on Paper than in Actuality, 2016-07-17
Captain: , Charlottesville (265)

Great dockhands and nice floating docks (saw the earlier reviews, and we can report that there were no bird droppings in sight), but the shower choices are both terrible: inside the hotel right next to the bar (accessible to bar patrons and designed so that more water goes on the floor outside the shower than in it) or jr. high-style and almost outside the marina. No walking into town from here %u2013 it%u2019s definitely a cab ride, and the adjoining neighborhood is dicey. Internet access essentially non-functional (got WiFi signal, but no connection to the Internet). Marina loud late into the evening from the bar alongside %u2013 the loudest I%u2019ve experienced.

May 2012: How could you want more? Everything available, restaurants, gambling, spas, groceries. Change management to Golden Nugget and upgrade of hotel is conplete and upgrade of docks and marina in progress. Great stop with anything you could want.

May 2013: Nothing less still a great stop!

May 2015 Stayed here 12 nights waiting for parts and repairs. Director of Ops Clyde Rawls work very hard to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Lots of maintenance of this faciity going on and all the complaints I read in reviews are being addressed. Off season rate of $2 per foot is great for all of the amenities available. Great place to be stuck. One of my favorite marina on the east coast.
5-11-16 Stayed 8 nights this trip, all previous comments still accurate, great town for boating, great facility, great staff.

OCtober 19, 2015

Arrived early AM after an overnight run from Block ISland. Followed directions for docking and discovered no dock hand. Called on radio again. One personon on duty did not know we needed a dock hand. Managment has changed again and service appears tohave slipped again. Doc kwas clean of bird droppings.

October 18,2014

Arrived mid-morning after an overnight run from Block Island. We docked along on the transient fairly close in where docks had been cleaned of bird droppings. Staff friendly and helpful. Off season so not much happening at marina. Did not even walk through casino this trip. Breakfast buffet has gotten too pricey for the value - did not go.

May 11,2014

Arrived in AM after an overnight run from Norfolk area. Docked in slip instead of alonside since they were expecting 80+footboats. This put us in close to the ramp where thedocks had been cleaned. The outer docks were still covered with seagull droppings. The dock staff was very apologetic about it. Newdock staff knowlegable and friendly. Convenient stop for one night.

October 18, 2013 Docks are still covered with bird droppings but staff was attempting to stay ahead of it by pressure washing daily. With only a few boats on the docks, the seagull are very brazen. Dock staff friendly and more knowledgeable than last year. Good breakfast buffet at the hotel but only on weekends during off season. Fuel prices still high.

May 14,2013 - Docks are still covered with bird droppings. Seagulls own the outer end of the transient dock. Staffing consisted of two people. Some dock repairs were happening. Friendly helpful staff but facility not upto expectations.

October 2012 - Once again docks were full of bird droppings. Staffing was minimal and there was no effort to clean the docks in the two days we were there. The breakfast buffet was discontinued due to lack of business. This is a convenient stop for our routing but that is the only reason we stop here. The dockmaster who was so helpful in the spring is no longer there.

May 2012 - Significant improvement since last fall. The docks were clean. Staffing is increasing and though early in the season were reasonbly organize. Dockmaster was very helpful with finding a medical clinic for a crew member.

This marina has change management from Trump Plaza to Golden Nugget. It has gone downhill. The docks were filthy with bird droppings. The staff was minimal though friendly. We were stuck there for four days due to weather. Since we are not gamblers or nightclubbers it was pretty boring. There is nothing within walking distance.

Very Unprofessional, 2015-10-08
Captain: , New Joisey (75)

Upon arrival, a deck hand turned out to get us tied up to the floating docks. Since there was a stiff wind, others on the dock offered to help, but the marina deck hand, who was alone, said he would handle it. He pulled us in tight to the dock and a galvanized cleat put an 18%u201D shallow gouge in our hull. The marina manager was called and had some pictures taken, an accident form filled out and we were told they would be in touch to take care of the problem. They never contacted us even months after departure.

There were a lot of boats on %u201CH%u201D dock and the electric sub-breaker on the dock tripped, which caused a section of the dock to lose shore power. With temps in the 90%u2019s and no power to run our air conditioning, battery charger, etc., we called the dockmaster. When the marina electrician arrived 45 minutes later, he unlocked the breaker panel, flipped the breaker back on, locked the panel and walked away. The breaker tripped 15 minutes later. He was called again and did the same. We suggested he either leave the panel unlocked or have the dockmaster move some boats to spread the electrical load out. The electrician said he couldn%u2019t leave the panel unlocked and told us we needed to contact the dockmaster. After the 3rd trip of the breaker, we (and a number of other boats), chose to run our generator.

Upon checking out, there was a $97 charge to our slip for dinner at the marina restaurant, which we did not patronize. We had gone to the Borgata Hotel, with other boaters on H dock, for dinner. We asked to see the signed slip from their restaurant, but they could not produce one. We showed the dock manager the receipt from the Borgata for the same date and he took the charge off our final bill. Three months later (in Novemeber) the $97 charge came through on our credit card statement. We tried calling the marina over a few days time, but no one answered. We left multiple voicemail messages but never received a return call. We then contacted our credit card company and challenged the charge and had it credited. We never heard anything further.

Our visit presented enough challenges to convince us that we will not be back.

Okay but expensive, 2015-09-24
Captain: , Poughkeepsie, NY (6077)

$3/ft until Oct 1. A Marina Life membership will entitle you to a 25% discount but not on Friday or Saturday. The cleanest docks are in front of the covered, outside bar but you may have loud music until 10:00, then it usually stops.

Charthouse is a great restaurants!

Good Protection, 2015-09-16
Captain: , Hilton Head, SC (1234)

Hug the seawall to your port as you come into the basin per the "Shoaling" marker comments. Plenty of depth for our 6ft draft within the basin. We were surrounded by 100ft plus megayachts as well as a Viking boat show. Facilities (showers, bathrooms, laundry) were solid. Dockhands very helpful. Docks in so-so shape, but they were reapiring them during our stay. Enterprise rent a car will come pick you up if you need wheels - we did as weather kept us here for 4 days - explored the area, reprovisioned in Margate City and found great Vietnamese food at Pho9 in Northfield and good (not great) seafood at Harrys' inside Bally's.

Expensive, but nice..., 2015-09-09
Captain: , Guilford, CT (120)

We pulled into the marina around 6:30pm after a 13 hour run down the coast from Port Washington, NY. The dock hand was efficient, and the office was friendly. There were more boats here this time than there were two years ago - things must be looking up for the marina! The only negative was that in the morning we wanted a pumpout before leaving, and the fuel dock only had one person working there. He asked us to wait in our slip for a half hour and he would call us. We waited - he didn't call, so we cruised over, tied ourselves up and pumped ourselves out. He was very nice, and apologetic, but obviously overworked by trying to handle fuel and pumpouts at once.

no one in attendance, 2015-08-07

Cleaned up, 2015-07-01
Captain: , Baltimore (180)

No more guano on the docks, just a few clam shells, and, oddly, some weeds growing between the planking. A mis up with the bath house codes took an hour to resolve, probably a one off problem. Helpful staff. Plenty of slips. Not cheap, but it's at the Casino. Band was loud 'till midnight, but we got in late. Easy inlet to navigate. Mind the markers into the basin and check your charts.

An excellent marina with nice clean showers at A Dock. Hunted around for 30 amp and staff helped out. Big boats around us all had 50 amp. Marina store sold very little for us transients, and the Golden Nugget Cqsino was right there. Parties galore until 8 pm, then all quiets down. Hey, it's Atlantic City party aarea.

Getting ready for the season, 2015-05-15
Captain: , Pensacola, FL (532)

Easy channel in and out. Wide. Arrived 5-4-15 and stayed three nights waiting good weather for northern outside run. They do not officially kick off their summer season until the end of May so alot of sprucing up was going on. Its a huge marina and the docks not really being occupied are pretty nasty with bird dropping, but the transient dock was clean. Staff was helpful and friendly but only onsite 9-5. Restrooms and showers are institutional looking it's a State Park, but clean and secure. Don't miss the jacuzzis and pool on the 6th floor of the hotel. Open to marina guests. Very nice and the view is awesome at night, The casino, clubs, restaurants, etc. is expensive but using our 25% weekday Marina Life discount on the dockage helped ease the pain. Pleasant stay. Not a good stop to provision. Too far to any decent stores.

Marina is going downhill, 2015-05-04
Captain: , US East Coast (1116)

I've been here many years and the docks were pretty acceptable. But, during my last visit I saw that docks are covered with all kinds of mess (never mind Seagull droppings). It did not look like the old "Trump Marina". At least the price has dropped to reasonable level.

Lots of fun In Ac, 2015-02-26

Great marina. Awesome people. Lots of fun!!

Reasonable Pricing off peak, 2014-10-30
Captain: , USEastCoast (664)

Easy access from inlet but some of the slips are tight to get into with a larger boat. Dock we tied up to could have had the bird droppings and bones (are the seagulls eating KFC?) shoveled off. I spent some time hosing enough dock to keep our deck clean and the flies away. Good showers, of the locker room variety, and the laundry was good equipment with low prices. Friendly staff. The dock is owned by the municipality (or state) but maintained by the casino. That probably affects the level of maintenance. No provisioning or parts close but transportation is available.

easy and out of the seas, 2014-10-25
Captain: , Buzzards Bay (391)

Docks are cleaner and nicer than last spring. Easy in and Enterprise (car rental) picks you up. No easy flights to Boston from local airport. Off season outside bar with live music was closed... Boy it was windy glad I was at the dock.

Bus service is confusing, 2014-10-10
Captain: , Erie, PA (587)

Jitney service to the other casinos and boardwalk needs to update their signs at pick up locations.
Routes 1 & 2 buses have NO numbers on the bus. Route 3 does not exist anymore and a route 4 buss WILL have a 4 on the front of the bus.
If you wait for a number 1 or 2 bus you will be waiting forever.

It is a good way to get from the marina to the boardwalk, however.

Great Place to Stay, 2014-09-17
Captain: , Green Cove Springs, FL (251)

We enjoyed being here, it was to cold to use the hotel pool for us. Get around town very cheap by using the Jitney $2.50 per person, right outside the Marina. Diesel is $3.99, and gas is $4.99 as of 09-16-2014.

Sailied into the inlet after overheating on the way to Cape May, 2014-09-13
Captain: , Oxford, MD (235)

Spent Saturday, Sunday and Monday here awaiting a new water circ pump. Luckily was able to find one of the best mechanics I've ever encountered - Mark Schrank owner of MidCoast Marine. Mark diagnosed my overheating problem in minutes and pulled the suspect water circ pump. The shaft was totally broken. Wow, no wonder we overheated. I'm lucky I didn't ruin the engine. Was entertained Saturday with a live band and had dinner at the Chart House. I like AC as a destination. Fixing broken boats - especially on weekends - ain't so great.

OK for a night, 2014-09-01
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (380)

Not really a big AC fan, so I'm biased. Marina is OK, bird poop on dock this trip not nearly like last time, dock staff was friendly and helpful. But I got hit with Labor Day holiday price which was annoying. And showers are locker room style, which I don't prefer.

But a great meal at the Chart Room on site!

Rating as a tender landing, 2014-08-07
Captain: , United States (3192)

We landed our tender here several times while we were anchored in front of the USCG station, to patronize the casino facilities. Those included the Italian-themed "Grotto" restaurant right in the middle of the gaming floor, and the waterfront casual restaurant "The Deck," as well as the salon/spa.

Dinghy dockage is on the large T-head at the end of F-dock; call to let them know you are coming.

Overhaul wonderfull, 2014-08-01
Captain: , Montreal (329)

Been here two years in a row, and the service, bathrooms, docks, people, and the Marina Bar are wonderfull.
this is the place to be when comming to AC by boat.

Good Marina, 2014-06-17
Captain: , Green Cove Springs, Fl (570)

Large yachts use this marina so plenty of water just follow the markers. Slips large, docking staff excellent. Nice choice of restaurants at the Casino.

Captain: , Fort Myers Beach, FL (361)

Nice marina. Good staff. Nice docks. Large slips. Great bike riding on boardwalk, until 10 AM.
We stayed two nights and enjoyed it.

A Different Sort of Marina, 2014-06-05
Captain: , Tarpon Springs (983)

Being run by The Golden Nugget makes the Farley Marina a bit different. It seems to be a bit of an afterthought although the staff were excellent and the facilities good. They are about the only game in town but fine for overnight.

Always a favorite stop for us.
Yes, we've been here before the season "really" starts and yes there have been some seagull what? It's a marina. It happens.
Clyde Rawls, the marina director of operations and dock master has made HUGE improvements over the years, and continues to do so.
Professional, friendly dock hands. Clean bathrooms and showers and for the location, can't beat the price.
Thank you Clyde.

This is our third time stopping here. It's a destination marina. The new Marina Operation Manager, Clyde Rawls who just started in May has made a big difference. He is professional, friendly and accommodating. We came in late, almost dark but E dock was well lit and docking by ourselves was not a problem. We had dinner at the Chart House twice and we enjoyed it very much. When staying at the marina, you have use of the gym and the indoor and outdoor heated pools located in the casino across the street. And if you want to get pampered, the SPA is great with wonderful facilities.
You definitely want to hug the left side as you turn at R N "2"

Not sure about prior poster's comments. We found it to be a nice marina, clean docks, nice restaurants, and helpful staff. We would return here without hesitation.

convienient to casinos, but cold water only in the sinks and shellfish remains all over the docks

Short stopover, 2014-04-29
Captain: , Stuart, Florida (50)

Stopped for a night. Staff were very helpful and informed. Facility is a bit dated and municipal. There was no fuel available (late April) but we went to Kammerman's and filled up. Not a bad spot especially with off-season rates.

good stopover, 2014-04-28
Captain: , Keyport Yacht Club (161)

Good protected spot and reasonable at $2/ft for the off season rate. Nice, clean restrooms and showers in the first floor of the main builiding. Docks are a bit messy as discussed by others. Oh, and the fuel pumps were still wrapped for winter on 4/26, assume they will be back up soon.

Fun Place Even if it's AC, 2013-12-16
Captain: , Crockett (610)

So I'll be the first to say AC is a cesspool, but the Golden Nugget really isn't that bad relative to the Casinos on the boardwalk. We stayed here two nights and had a good time talking with the resident boats, loosing a bit of money at the casino and spending time at the pool and hot tub.

The docks are looking a bit worn and need an upgrade.

Convenient Compromise, 2013-10-02
Captain: , St. Louis, MO (1011)

Landed here in mid September. It is a convenient stop with an all weather inlet and easy access.

Good fuel prices at the convenient, but disorderly and fowled (gulls) fuel dock. There were numerous large vacant slips that are easy to access, and later boats just showed up without calling ahead. Dockmaster had an inadequate VHF, but was helpful at the tieup.

No band on the night we arrived, but have experienced loud music and crowds at the outdoor bar in the past. The Chart House Restaurant, overlooking the marina, is excellent and expensive. The casino accross a bridge is a smoker's paradise and must end up more expensive than anything else.

Overprices for what you get, 2013-09-23
Captain: , Wicomico Church (610)

Staff was helpful..but if you want a quite evening.. it is not here.. bands on the dock and the focus was getting you to play the slots or tables..

Pricey but convenient, 2013-09-07
Captain: , Port Aransas, Texas (998)

We stopped in June on the way up the coast and enjoyed two days of access to the Golden Nugget facilities and food. The trolley takes one to the Beach and many other casinos. The marina and staff are first rate.

Atl City - Farley marina, 2013-06-30
Captain: , Red Bank , NJ (275)

Probably best place to stay in AC, docks are getting a little tired need some cosmetic work. Also, a little pricey, especially on week ends. Very good restrurant near docks. Great party bar.

Good stop?, 2013-06-29
Captain: , North Carolina (344)

Stayed here for one night on our way up the coast. Kind of cool to stay so close to the Golden Nugget and we got a 25% MarinaLife discount.

Everything clean and taken care of. Docks are gated.

golden nugget, 2013-06-24
Captain: , Knapps Narrows Md (450)

stopped here on our way north. Still pricey considering that taxpayers built it but very convenient. many restaurants on site and the jitney can take you to any other casino and you can easily walk to other places. Good area at the end of H dock to walk the dog. The deck bar can be a little noisy if you stay on that end of the marina. AC inlet is pretty easy to get in and out of.

Winner! 777, 2013-06-09
Captain: , Lake Simcoe, Ontario (240)

Get free passes to the casino H2O lounge - pool and hot tubs and nice bar/view - had a nice dinner at Grotto - Italian in the casino - Good laundry and showers - won a bit of money at 777 to pay for dinner, the marina fee and some left over!

Great Views, 2013-06-05
Captain: , Beaufort, S.C. (640)

This marina is nicely located for a stop on the trip up the Jersey coast. We waited in Cape May for light winds and calm seas and had an easy trip on the outside. The inlet was well marked and easy to negotiate. Once docked in our slip we took the Jitney bus to the Revel hotel and enjoyed the boardwalk. When you go back to the marina, don%u2019t miss the pool (be sure to take the guest slips you are given at check in to access the pool) on the sixth floor of the Golden Nugget. The views of sunset and the lights of Atlantic City are spectacular. We purchased a Marina Life discount card prior to coming here and the 25% discount off one night of dockage paid for our membership and then some. The people at Marina Life were very nice and emailed us a scanned copy of the card so we did not have to wait for the membership card to come in the mail.

Enjoyable stay 28-30 May 2013, 2013-06-01
Captain: , Rockport, Texas (130)

We arrived in a downpour...Dock hands at fuel dock and transient docks were terrific. We enjoyed our stay here and recieved a 25% dicount to boot! The Dockmaster and his staff were most helpful during our stay. As an example, we needed to get some prescription food for our dogs, they located a Veteranarian that sold the food and then told us how to get there (Beach Taxi).
We also took advantage of the Jitney is a small bus that circuits the City 24/7 . We enjoyed the Boardwalk
This was a very pleasant stay.....and clean too.

Improved since Trump left, 2013-04-22
Captain: , Cherry Hill (378)

I saw some improvements in 2012 after the Golden Nugget took over marina management from Trump. The new dockmaster Joe G seemed to take an interest in making the experience better than Trump. Hope he's still there for the 2013 season. I stayed twice for an overnight in 2012. One time was very bad due to a group of boats with loud mouths and loud music. I complained to the staff and not sure if they did anything but things seemed to calm down until the drunken boyfriend/girlfriend screaming drama argument and F bombs began at midnight. Atlantic City tends to draw some riff raff, but most experiences here as a transient have been pleasant.

Only marina available for miles, 2012-11-16
Captain: , Roseville MN (398)

Expensive, but the only marina here with room, and the only safe harbor within miles on the ICW-less New Jersey coast. The adjacent casino (owner of the marina) was unusable because of their load blasting music, but we did eat there. Good bus transportation into town and the Boardwalk. Much too expensive, but the only game in town.

Great Facilities and service, 2012-10-17
Captain: , Michigan City (349)

We arrived late in deteriating weather on 8/24/12 and did not trust going into the planned anchorage in the dark and low tide. We called every marina except Golden Nugget because of their reported prices. Kammermans was the only one that answered. They wanted to put us on the gas dock with no electric and we would have to leave by 7 AM for $2.50 per foot. We called Golden Nugget and they quoted us the same price for a very nice floating dock, dock hands that did everything for you, access to the casino, pool and spa as well as entertainment that others had to pay cover charges for and some of the nicest facilities we have seen fo far. Although we had hoped to save the expense of a marina, we felt like we got a tremendous value. With severe storms to the South the next day, they gave us an extra night at an even more reduced rate! Transportation to all the casinos and the boardwalk right at the end of the docks. A nice refreshing stop!

Noisy but nice, 2012-10-11
Captain: , Rochester, NY (493)

Nice marina - easy access and good depth. The rock band continued a bit late into the night for this old skipper, but the facilities were clean and the staff was friendly.

Could be better, 2012-10-07
Captain: , Southport, ME, USA (1178)

While everyone is friendly & helpful, the physical condition of the transient docks is poor. Lots of bird dropping, moss & plants growing between very weathered & worn boards. If you go, use the shower laundry facility by the state police office rather than those at the marina office.

Easy stop over, 2012-09-11
Captain: , St. Petersburg, FL (348)

Immediately turn to port upon entering the inlet. The Marina is on the left and appears to be part of the Golden Nugget casino. The staff is very helpful and the docks are in great condition. Can be overly expensive on a holiday weekend (Labor day).

Nice Facility with Floating Slips, 2012-09-09
Captain: , Boulder City, NV (259)

We stayed here for two nights after not being able to set anchor in Brigatine. Cost for our 40 feet was $128 plus $5 for 30 amp service. Cable TV is also provided. There are 2 dryers and 2 washers in both the men's and womens's heads. Get change in the casino. Dock hand was great as we pulled in with 25-30 mph wind.

Good solid docks, 2012-09-06
Captain: , Annapolis (264)

We were happy to be tied to the dock when a terrible storm came through in the middle of the night. Facilities are old but clean and nicely air-conditioned. Floating fuel dock was easy to approach. Don't eat in the casino. Food was overpriced and awful. Happy hour at the Chart House was a great deal.

Well run, friendly, 2012-08-07
Captain: , Amelia Island, FL (507)

We really enjoyed staying here. The staff were most accommodating with our requests for a specific side tie up and the dock hands knew what they were doing. Maybe there is something to be said for a state marina being run by a casino. We had to stay an extra night due to weather. There were absolutely no issues from the office about extending our stay.

Worth a Visit, 2012-08-06
Captain: , Island Heights (340)

Glad the slip rate has been reduced. Location can't be beat and the Jitney will take you anywhere on the Boardwalk. Wood docks are getting tired, but they are floaters and that helps with the big tidal range. Music from the bar on the deck is LOUD and doesn't end until midnights on the weekends. Make sure you request away from the bar if you are looking for peace and quiet. Dockmaster needs to to a better job of keep the noise down and dock parties blocking the pathway. Megasound blasting from boats is not cool. Heads and showers have been cleaned up and are fine, albeit a long walk. Didn't go to the pool, but hear its been updated.

expensive & loud, 2012-07-05
Captain: , Red Lion, DE (712)

12-07-04 This is our third stay here. We stop here only because it is convenient while doing the N.J. Coast. I agree with other reviewers that the staff at the office were effecient but not overly friendly. However, the dockboy who was waiting to help us dock was very effecient and pleasant. The prices are high considering what we get for them. We have stayed at 88 different marinas in our years of cruising the East Coast and this marina does not provide us with any more conveniences than ones we have stayed at for half the price. And, it is a long walk from the T-heads to the office, restaurant, and store.

An easy place to stay, 2012-06-20
Captain: , East Coast (194)

Spent a Friday through Monday here in June. Very easy access, they were immediately responsive on VHF, easy approach to the fuel dock. Fairways are huge and dockhands are very helpful. The floating docks are a bit tired but well-kept for their age. The newly renovated pool is terrific. As has been stated, if you don't want to be on top of the loud, bar-side music that goes late into the night, request dockage towards the outside. Take your dinghy or PWC and go exploring on the ICW side. Wonder Bar is a few miles away but a good dinghy dock-and-dine. For a much closer meal by dinghy, take a quick ride across the creek from the marina to Gardner's Bay. We had a terrific dinner at Back Bay Ale House there.

Captain: , East Falmouth, MA (1643)

The marina staff was very responsive and helpful. We came in late and it was quite windy, the staff was helpful but not real experienced. The marina it self is excellent with fkloating docks, clean rest rooms (a good walk from our slip) and the casino nearby. The music from the lounge went un until late and was very loud. At some marinas the staff cannot do enough for you, this is not one of them. The staff didn't have a bad attitude, they just weren't friendly. The treatment was impersonal, and the prices are high.

Helpful personnel. Relatively easy to get into. Bathrooms convenient and clean. Next to Golden Nuggett. $2/ft.

Expensive, but great marina., 2012-06-12
Captain: , Marietta, GA (260)

But for the price, 5 stars would be in order. Docked here after checking out a couple other places. Docks are in excellent shape, and staff is friendly and attentive. The marina is attached to the Golden Nugget which is convenient for many things. Good ship's store and laundry available (although one machine ate my money). Only downside is that live music on the deck goes late, which wouldn't be bad if the quality was a little better. Nice to have use of the rooftop pool and hotel facilities. Frankly, this seems to be the only game in town, and after we accepted the high dockage cost, we enjoyed our visit.

Comfortable Stop, 2012-05-21
Captain: , punta gorda, fl (1448)

Stopped here May 19, 2012. $2 per ft plus $5 for 30 amp elec. Docks were fine. New mgmt has just spent lots on upgrading hotel and says they have plans to upgrade marina. The hotel (golden nugget) is one of 3 in "marina area" and is isolated from the boardwalk. You can ride a jitney over to the boardwalk for $2.25 ea. Several restaurants plus casino in golden nugget. We were there on a saturday and deck bar at hotel had loud band that was very audible in the marina area.

Entertaining for a day, 2012-05-20
Captain: , Waretown, NJ (354)

Nice to stop for the day and maybe a night. Easy to navigate into to and the dockhands were helpful. Fuel dock was accessible when we stopped in latre summer.

Since Golden Nugget has taken over management the marina is better than Trump run days. The casino and new restraunts are outstanding as well the the pool deck.

Golden Nugget Marina, 2012-05-18
Captain: , Westport,Ma (710)

The price is $2/ft until May 30th very helpful docking we had a problem getting power from the pedestal as others did they had an electrician on it within an hour. Its our 3rd time in AC but our 1st time on this side because of the reduced price /ft. More to do over here and we feel a bit safer. Though our normal stop Kammermans people are very helpful and friendly!
Call the Nugget on channel 65 when entering the channel it may take them some walking time to get there to help you in.

Farley State Marina, 2011-11-07
Captain: , Brick, NJ (30)

We spend 3 to 4 weekends at the Marina every summer, have been for the past 12 years. It was obious that Trump let the facility maintenance slip the past few years. New management "The Golden Nugget" took over this past summer and has started to make necessary repairs. We hope that by next summer it will again be a 5 ***** resort. I will let you know after our June trip!

Rough place, no troubles., 2011-11-05
Captain: , Newport, R.I. (644)

Only reason to stop here was because of gail. We called ahead and were told to pick any slip on E dock. Easy enough to find and docked alone. Strong docks, floatting. Marina for got to let cruisers know the water on docks were shut off Nov.1 as well, laundry facility closed Nov. 1. I never once saw staff on dock and no problems. Took Jitney to boardwalk ($2.25) right infront of Marina as there is nothing within walking for markets / stores. Rough place even in daylight but no troubles.

Off season review, 2011-11-03
Captain: , florida (230)

We arrived on October 31st. The water was turned off on November 1st so make sure you have plenty when you arrive. The showers and bathrooms were closed as well, but there are facilities inside the main building. The docks are floating, which to me is a big plus.

Very Accomodating, 2011-10-21
Captain: , Winthrop, MA (896)

We called to make reservations and pulled in after hours. We were told to pull into any open slip on E dock. When we arrived there were other boaters around that were more than happy to help dock our sail boat.
We planned on staying one night. But due to wx we stayed three nights. They were very accomodating and very happy to help us.
There are activities beside the casino that help spend your time instead of all of your money.
If you come in the slips close to shore are clean, the ones away have a lot of seagull guana. The rain did clear up a lot of it.
The dockmaster, Joe, is very nice and helpful. There is no wifi but Joe will allow you to use his computer if necessary. He also has a fax machine if needed.

Good access, decent facility, helpful staff, 2011-09-30
Captain: , Portsmouth (372)

Access is simple and protection quite good. The docks are totally functional but need some upgrades.

We were met dockside by two staffers, one a trainee, who were great. Friendly and competent. Helped with electric hookup without being asked (which should obviously be standard everywhere but is not). Asked if we wanted to connect shore water (again, should be standard but is the exception) and did so.

The office is far from much of the dock complex and closes early. A number of boats arrived after we did and had to dock without assistance.

Captain: , Huron Ohio (608)

We stayed there last night, coming in at 9:30 pm after reading the previous review. They took our credit card info over the phone. Called in this morning to make sure that we got the $2 rate. No, they had charged us $3, because we didn't make the reservation online. They finally ended up giiving a credit to our card for the extra dollar a foot.

4 Star for the Staff, 2011-09-13
Captain: , Marco Island, FL (1145)

We planned to spend one night here. Got in early, planned on going to the casino, then gone in the morning. Well the best laid plans...Randy got sick and we didn't leave for 3 days! The staff was wonderful at accommodating us - Since they knew Randy wasn't feel well, they reorganized incoming boats so we wouldn't have to move ours! Thanks Joe & Tom!!!

Run down and overpriced but improvements are planned by Golden Nugget, 2011-08-22
Captain: , Beach haven NJ (510)

Farley marina used to be a bargain but then Trump rasied the transit rate to $4.00 per ft. This marina has not been maintained to it's orginal condition and is in bad shape. Recently the price was reduced to $3.00 per ft but is still overpriced for the overall condition of the marina. Since Golden Nugget took over, a Chart House restaurant has opened in the marina and many new improvemants are planned and underway. The Deck has entertainment and is a good place to hang out. The casino next door is a big plus. Once the casino improvements are completed this could once again be a great destination but only time will tell.

Update- Aug 20, 2011 - I just brought ten boats in this past weekend to take advantage of the group rate of $2.25 per ft. After some confusion (my fault) on power requirements, etc the staff was great in solivng all of our issues quickly and provided us with a great customer service experience. It is obvious to me the new owner has made a committment to restore this marina to it's former glory. Since the casino is currently being renovated we walked to Harrahs for dinner. This is one of the great things about this marina, you can walk or get a cab to any of the other casinos. Everyone enjoyed the entertainment on the Deck and all had a great experience. We will be back. Great job GN staff!

Expensive and no security, 2011-06-26
Captain: , San Antonio, TX (310)

Disorganized expensive marina. Grass growing between dock planks We came in for weather. Went to office and they couldn't figure where they had put us couldn't find codes/ keys to laundry and bathrooms or gates staff didn't know transport to boardwalk or other gambling spots discovered they don't lock gates at night and we were there on a weekend so lots of drunks enjoying free music on dock far from everything need a taxi Pluses are they have floating docks easy to walk dog neighbors friendly and helped us cast off in am if you have a larger boat may be only option at 3.00 a foot included electric you decide

Convenience and Gambling, 2011-06-09
Captain: , Kings Point, New York (80)

The marina is easy access and a great stopping point along the NJ coast. The facilities were fine with floating docks and close proximity to casinos, restaurants and entertainment. We were there in late May so the marina was not crowded at all. Security was lacking, but that might be an early season issue. I would return.

Excellent location, 2011-05-09
Captain: , Atlantic City, NJ (320)

I have stayed at the marina a couple of times. Usually spend a couple days there in the summer to go to the beach and casinos. Very busy marina and can be difficult to get a transient slip so best thing is to beek as early as possible.
