Reviews for Selby Bay Yacht Club
Great base, 2013-07-01
Captain: , camden maine (31)

We had a great experience at Selby Bay Yacht Club. We were looking for a base near Washington DC to tour the capital. As long as you have access to a car, the Selby Bay Yacht Club is a great altrnative to expensive Annapolis. One needs a car as definitely driving distance to stores etc.. The club is well cared for and very clean. The people who run it and the members we met couldn't be nice and more welcoming. It is very quiet during the week, as most members only come for the weekend. There are several slips for transients and the price is right at about a dollar a foot. Very well protected.

Selby Bay Yacht Club is a Winner!, 2013-06-05
Captain: , Selby Bay, Maryland (10)

What do you want in a Yacht Club? Friendly, welcoming, family-oriented atmosphere among fellow boaters? Beautifully maintained docks and grounds? Clubhouse? Pool? Great location, minutes from the Bay? Active social and cruising schedule? Member owned and operated? SBYC has all that and more. 71 slilps up to 70'. Located at the mouth of the South River, minutes from Thomas Point light. Full-time, resident manager. More than ample parking at the docks. Boat ramp. Dog run. All at the most reasonable cost. If you are even considering joining a yacht club, check it out. You won't be disappointed. See www.selbybayyc.com for more information.

Selby Bay YC, 2010-10-19
Captain: , Washington, DC (149)

This is generally a private YC but with proper references there is usually 1-3 slips available when a member is off cruising. The docks are very sturdy and fixed and often the departed member has left his lines attached which you can use. The club is very friendly and welcoming. The dockmaster lives on the premises with his family and if he is available will help you tie up. There are coffee and bagels in the morning, nice bathrooms and lounge area and a nice pool only open on the weekends. There is no shopping or commercial establishments within walking distance but you may be able to borrow the dock-masters car for a run into the south end of Annapolis and lots of retail stores on Hwy 2. You can dinghy to a restaurant for lunch or dinner.
