Approach

Scituate is easy to enter and well protected. Recent dredging in 2003 provides depths of 12 feet in the outer channel, 10 feet in the inner channel, and 8 to 10 feet in the mooring areas. The many cliffs and beaches make it hard to see the harbor entrance. Look for the white Scituate light house off the north side of the channel. For night time approaches, you should look for the R&W Mo(A) east of the channel entrance. Also there is a red light at the end of the breakwater. Both are difficult to identify among the other lights on shore.

Entering the harbor, turn right at nun 8 and go through the moorings until you are off the yacht club docks, from there proceed left to the floating red office and fuel dock.

Reviews for Scituate Harbor Marina
Great Stop, 2016-07-26
Captain: , Bourne, Ma (230)

We spent one night here after passing through the canal on our way to Maine. ( July 23). We entered the harbor channel just as the schooner America was leaving on her East Coast tour. As you can imagine the harbor was packed with small vessels following her out as well as many asking for moorings. We were the first of dozen calls for moorings. The only facility looking for appropriate mornings was Easy Rider. Since we were the first of a dozen looking and the constant radio requests inrapid Fire I was sure we would be forgotten. We weren't. In 15 minutes we were called with a mooring. Big blow that afternoon 60 70 knot winds and storms. Everyone held. Great town. A definite return spot.

threw us off the fuel dock, 2014-06-30

Went the other day to fuel and get water. After I was done getting my 12 gal of fuel thery told me to leave before I could fill my water tanks because a small little fishing boat had shown up and was waiting. I of course for a sailboat ony went and bought fuel in order to get water!

Dobber and his staff at SHM are friendly and attentive. They will fuel your boat themselves and will top off your water tanks if you request it. Quick in and out if you are cruising between the Cape Cod Canal and Boston Harbor

Great Marina and Staff, 2012-12-28
Captain: , Newport, RI (249)

The folks in this marina are among the most friendly and service-oriented staff we have encountered while crusing the Northeast. They make extra effort in listening to you and helping in any way. Their fuel dock is pretty easy to get in-and-out, unless a sixty footer is banging around. The place is well maintained and spotless, yet has a folksy feel to it.

One of the nicer facilities we've visited, 2012-01-04
Captain: , Scituate, MA (5)

Easy access fuel dock and special attention to our transient needs. Very friendly people. The famous Barker Tavern Restaurant is a 3 minute walk and Satuit Tavern is right across the street. Easy access located in the outer harbor.

Nice folks!, 2007-08-29
Captain: , Barrington RI (475)

We visited the "boat club," as it is known, in July of 07. They were helpful in finding us a mooring for our 34' sailboat. When *they* later observed that the pennant was too short, they suggested, and were willing to help us move to another mooring.

The launch was also eager to run us into town.

After staying there, we received a thank you note - nice touch!
