Reviews for Savannah Hyatt Docks
Dockage Update Post Matthew, 2016-11-14
Captain: , Tracys Landing, Maryland (41)

We called Nov 14, 2016 and were told that the docks were damaged, i.e. no electricty or cable available. The Hyatt is offering a discounted price per foot of $1.50 until docks are repaired sometime in 2017. We strongly suggest calling ahead to the hotel for the status of the repairs and prices.

reduce docking, 2015-10-28

We called to see what the rate was $2.25 ft. apparently it's their slow season. We like coming up here for a couple of days, normally we have gotten on the city docks $1.50 ft but the water taxis docks are being repaired so they are using half of the city dock. Yes you will get rocked by the big container ships and yes there is all kinds of trash that seems to find it's way between the boat and the dock, but it's a great city.

The good news, you are across the street from the Old Town District and it is all within walking distance. The bad news, they know nothing about boats, their needs or wants. Power iffy, water good, wakes not anything worse than some anchorages. Huge container ships pass at dead slow. We had some looped kids board at 3 in the morning as the dock is just off the Public Walk. Harmless, but scary. The hotel reduced our rate as a result.

Rock and Roll, 2014-11-24

We stayed two nights with lots of rolling given the commerical traffic. We got the feeling they do not care for small vessel traffic at the Hyatt. We felt like they were put out by us asking for dockage. The $3.00 /ft is a little high for what you get. The dock has exposed bolts and nails in places with no protection and I have port hull scratch to prove it. I suggest docking at Thunderbolt and visit Savannah as the city is worth the time and effort. We ate a Vic's on the River and got great food and even better service.

Do not depend on staying at the City Dock as a big cruise ship comes in often and you could be asked to leave to make room.

Hyatt dock, 2014-11-11

There was a man on the dock when we arrived to catch our lines, the people have been very friendly and helpful. The internet is good enough to stream Netflix. You step off the dock and you are downtown with in walking distance of very good dining. I asked to extend our stay and they were very agreable.

good dock, no services, 2013-11-27
Captain: , Wiscasset, Maine (290)

Excellent dock, no dock master to be found, even after a five day stay. Wifi poor and needs a daily pass code. Front desk has no idea how to process dock space and can never find the dock master. Much better tie up than the city or Riverside Market docks. Services are dock, power and water but nothing else.

Good location BUT!!!, 2013-05-31
Captain: , Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (40)

Might be a good location, but services are bad.
I docked there from May16th 2013 and will be leaving on June5th 2013. I called them a week before arrival and they assured me that someone will be waiting for me on the dock to help with the lines, I also called them one day before arrival to confirm and they assured me the same, the day off arrival no one to be found no one is answering the phone!!!
Water was no major problem, but they had bad unstable shore power electricity. It took them 18h trying to fix it with no success, then I was forced to relocate and use another pedestal.
Internet very weak and always disconnects, you can only connect one device to it, earthier your laptop or iPad but not both.
Garbage collecting!! During my stay I had to call the front desk to send someone to collect the garbage, after it was there for 5 day creating a health hazard and starting to smell.
In the middle of my stay I was very annoyed when the hotel staff approached asking to leave tomorrow because they have other vessels (bigger yachts) coming!!! When I showed him the dock permit showing the departure on the 5th of June this answer was sorry but whoever gave you this permit was not authorize!!! I had to take the matter to top management to get it resolved.

They have a very nice website, that even there own staff don't know anything about, this website don't reflect any of the truth on site, the website indicates there discount policy stating that if you stay more that 5 days you receive a discount, when I asked them to make me a discount and honer there advertised commitment, I was told that there is no discount and it is the discretion of the dock master whom during my stay to date is no where to be found!!!
I am still there and can't wait to leave!!!

Rather a mixed bag, 2013-03-26

I prefered the location to the market place docks we stopped at last year, but (I always loathe the "But") I just wished that the facility meant more to the hotel. The management of the dock was a little patchy, the charges for parking a car were daft and as previously mentioned in other reviews it would be cheaper by the day to stay elsewhere and hire a car. The power was fine, internet/WIFI (when the codes worked) was ok. The wash is not a problem from the container or cargo ships, but the pilot launches were pretty unforgiving with theirs. The tug captains were excellent in minding their wash and could be seen to slow well before they arrived at the area. All in, it is a great location for exploring Savannah, expensive, exposed to the carless wash of the few, but the best access you could hope for to a pretty area.

Great location, but....., 2010-11-24
Captain: , Kingston, Ontario (1970)

Pricey and services are not as great as they describe in their waterway ad. Showers in fitness center is one lone shower. No wifi at dock, water connection is 10 feet up on bulkhead at low tide. Dockmaster is very nice, but handling dock is seconday duty, no permament dock staff. Lots of wakes with large container ships going in and out. Recommend Isle of Hope if you want to visit Savannah

TOO EXPENSIVE..., 2010-05-14
Captain: , Melbourne Florida (4616)

They have a nice dock, but want to charge way to much!
