Reviews for Saugatuck Yacht Service
Nice relaxed setting just out of town, 2016-08-15
Captain: , Chicago, Racine, Fish Creek,Wi (3038)

We stayed here a couple of times the last three years. Older marina but kept up and clean. Resturant next to marina good breakfast and lunch Tennesse style food. People are friendly here and decent staff. A short walk to the town through residential area.

Friendly and well kept marina., 2016-08-05
Captain: , La Pointe WI (201)

Our 40' ketch was tied up on the outside dock and we didn't have a problem with the Kalamazoo River traffic behind us. Brian Bussema, the dockmaster, was very helpful. Lots of shade trees and picnic tables and a nice boater's lounge with outside tables with shade umbrellas. Laundry cost $1.75 a load. The River Market on Water Street sold deli meats & cheeses & loaves of frozen marble rye bread. The only other grocery store was over the bridge in Douglas, a long ways away if walking.

Nice Harbor if you get an inside slip, 2015-09-04
Captain: , Burnham Harbor, Chicago (251)

We tied up here July 2014 and found it to be a descent marina. Nice shower facilities and nice grounds. We were at one of the slips on the channel and found it a bit rocky during the night. It's quite a walk to town and back so if you don't mind that, it's a good spot.

Dock people were helpful the following day. We were able to contact people via cell phone after closing and they directed us to the gas dock for the night. We are 14.5' wide and found it extremly tight. Dock masters did there best to find us a spot for a busy weekend. My only negative was price is over $2.00/foot. on regular basis. The lake has a good anchorage.

A great marina to transient or slip for the season!!!!, 2010-09-21
Captain: , Belle Maer Harbor (166)

This is a very small (approx 80 slips) marina that is really intimate, and park like. Comfortable, great views of the river, a nice cruise out to Lake Michigan. Great people here in support and service and the summer members. Also has a great small yacht club, called Saugatuck Marine Yacht Club.
The only things missing are tennis courts and a pool, but then it would have to be lots bigger.
This marina has the advantage of being a short walk to the town of Saugatuck and the ability to leave the hub-bub of the town behind for a relaxing stay if you want it. Great restaurant next door, called the Elbo Room - excellent food for breakfast, lunch and dinner!!! Don't miss the incredible breakfast menu!

Peacefull and friendly, 2009-08-03
