Reviews for Sarnia Bay Marina
A marina catering to powerboats, 2017-07-09
Captain: , Bayfield, WI (340)

We were told to follow the bouyed channel into the marina. However, there really isn't a clearly marked bouyed channel. The markers seemed randomly placed, and it was difficult to find the 'channel' in to the marina. We found d the deepest water near the wall and followed that to the marina entrance. We needed fuel, and were told there was no problem getting to the fuel docks. As a previous review mentioned, there are a TON of weeds - so many that it caused our depth sounder to register 4 feet, then 0, so we had no idea how deep it really was. We made it, but not with a very comfortable feeling. The docks are low (for powerboats), so it was quite a step up and down, and the assigned slip was about 10 feet too short for our boat. The staff was extremely helpful at the fuel dock and slip, however checking in was not a very positive experience. As we stood there waiting, three other people just walked right up to the counter in front of us and were helped while we were ignored (they were probably well-known marina patrons and we were not). We received almost no information about the marina, it's amenities, or the town. This was also the first marina we've been to where we saw dirty restrooms and showers. If we passed through again, we would choose a different marina altogether.

Always a good stop., 2016-08-30

A lot of construction has riverwalk kind of hard to access, but Irish Pub across the street is a good bet for a nice meal.

Good location, good people., 2016-08-17

After a run across Lake St. Clair and up the river, this was a good place to stop. Staff was friendly, shopping and Tim Hortons close by. It's all good.

Very nice marina, 2016-07-15

Very nice, well protected, marina with onsite restaurant and very pleasant staff.

Captain: , Windsor (270)

The other reviews are on the mark BUT, sailboats beware, the entry is a little odd and although we didnt hit bottom with our 5 foot draft, we raked up a ton of weed. This is a 'stinkboat' facility!!!

A pleasant place to stop after running up from Detroit

A great stop, 2015-07-19
Captain: , Catawba Island Ohio (530)

We have stayed here several times in the last 5 or 6 years, sometimes for a day or 2 while heading north or heading south on our way home. The last couple of years we have headed there as a destination, most recently for a week over Canada day week. The staff promptly answers the radio and phone. The staff is always present and polite. The facility in secure and the restrooms and showers have always been clean, even as busy as they were on a holiday. Steve (the manager?) is always around making sure things are running smoothly and that his guests have what they need.

Captain: , Sandusky, Ohio (11)

Wonderful management and staff. They were overwhelmingly helpful and accomodating. They collected your trash. They have vans for shuttling you wherever you would like to go. The security at the facility is great. The bathrooms and showers are great. The only drawback is that the floating docks are a bit run down and need maintanence. We enjoyed a pleasant 3 days there. Lastly, everything needed to report to Canada customs and imigration is at the end of the dock. I highly recommend this facility.

Not a lot of sailboat docks. Clean facility, friendly staff. A wee bit rolly at the end docks with a strong south wind.

Great place overall., 2011-08-09
Captain: , Detroit (720)

Luxury level bathroom decor, spotlessly clean. good restaurant for breakfast. helpful staff, knowledgeable about docking, unlike my home marina. good walk to town and a few restaurants near. park and playground near and onsite. pool, if open. wonderful, upscale place compared to most non-yacht club marinas.

Great Marina, 2011-07-13

Good facility, home base for our 48 Viking. Restaurant on site plus numerous others within walking distance. VERY busy on ' Bayfest' weekend. Nice marine store nearby (Bridgeview marine services) which also has one of the most helpful marine service guys (Ron) I have ever worked with.
