Reviews for Sarasota Hyatt Marina
Downtown Location, 2016-10-31
Captain: , Racine, WI (371)

Staff was very helpful, docking easy, no channel into the marina but good water depth, 8-10 feet at high tide, from Marker 12 to the entrance. Great pool, a resort community, a boat club had arrived for the weekend with much energy. We stayed two nights and enjoyed the visit.

Resort rather than a marina, 2016-05-17

Great resort location. Ryan the dockmaster could not be any more helpful - great guy! Maximum stay 3 days. Pump out is the only marina service.

Don't waste your time, 2016-05-11
Captain: , Cape Coral FL (70)

Stayed 3 nights along with 7 other boats. Pump out "broken", restrooms locked at night, no cable, wood on some of the docks is in rough shape, obviously not well cared for. The docks are an afterthought to the Hyatt and it shows. Basic marina with no dockmaster and a $19 "resort Fee" on top of per foot proce. Won't be back here.

Nice hotel, 2015-08-13
Captain: , New Port Richey (123)

The Garmin Bluechart mobile app was inaccurate in the approach as of 8/2015.

Docks are completely sheltered and easy to pull into.
Very safe dockage, access restricted and under night time guard.
Convenient location near downtown.

Absentee Dockmaster was never seen, didn't answer phone. I called the hotel lobby to send an engineer down to the docks to remove the rope blocking my slip (all the slips are blocked off as 'reserved').
High prices and extra fees for power/water

GREAT place to stay, 2015-05-09
Captain: , Miami (83)

Stopped in for 3 nights. Ryne, the harbor master was VERY helpful. This boating luxury. Pool, spa, and all the other items that make you feel like a king & queen. A Publix is an easy 2 blocks away. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is the hotel has limited restaurants, (one).

Convenient Location, 2013-10-18
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (80)

The docks are nice floating concrete-decked structures, and the staff were very friendly. This is definitely an adjunct to the main hotel business, but we did not feel like second class citizens or abused in any way. The rates were very good, and the water was pretty calm. Quite convenient to downtown Sarasota.

The only quirk was that there is an obstruction sign right in the middle of the entry fairway. We went very close to the sign-post on both sides, and the water depth was at least nine feet. Why they don't remove the obstruction (?) and the sign is a mystery.

The marina is fairly small, but some in our group had boats up to about 44 feet without any problem.

Like living at the Hyatt, 2013-02-27

Great facilities. About a mile walk to downtown. Access to all the Hyatt amenities.

Great Facilities Poor Service!!, 2012-10-02
Captain: , Apollo Beach, FL (185)

The pool is wonderful and the location is good. Floating docks are great. Very calm water makes for a relaxing stay.

This is more of a hotel than a Marina. Didn't seem like they really cared about the Marina guests. I really felt like a second class citizen because I was staying on board and not in a hotel room. Half way through our trip and we still have not seen any workers on the dock at all.

Great stop for the night, 2012-05-27
Captain: , Treasure Island, FL (375)

An absolutely fabulous marina and complex. Floating docks with power and water. Dockmaster on top of things and met us on arrival. All hotel amenities included with dockage which is great. No wifi at the docks however. Pool complex first rate with easy access from the docks. Though the showers are shared we found both the mens and womens very clean. Towels provided. Nice poolside bar with reasonable prices.

Close walking access to downtown and nearby shopping/restaurants. No trolley to St Armands circle but just a short cab ride.

We will definitely be back.

Good Stop - Quiet, 2011-04-07
Captain: , Palm Beach Gardens, FL (1997)

We stopped at this location last month and enjoyed the relaxation of the pool and the quietness of an empty marina. As stated before it is a shame that the restaurant beside the docks is closed but the pool and the protected marina made up for it. The supermarket is very close by just take it easy on approach to the marina as it shoals on the edges according to a local resident who welcomed us in.

Good marina for under 50 ft boats, 2011-01-28
Captain: , Clearwater (326)

Great marina and the facilities are nice. Its a shame they closed the old Boathouse Restaurant as it made one of the definative water hangouts but the restaurants and pool area are nice and the overall ambience of the hotel is good. You can't fault its locaton either!

Wonderfully private -- try the hamburgers next door at the Ritz. It's an easy walk into town, or catch at show at the Van Wezel next door, or the Floridia Studio Theater, a couple of blocks away.

Great for the kids, 2010-07-30
Captain: , Palmetto, FL (529)

We spent two nights in the marina, the kids loved the zero entry pool. All the services of a Hyatt and you get to stay on your own boat.

Excellent facility, fun for the whole family, 2010-07-19
Captain: , MA and Southwest FL (538)

A great find! Excellent dockage at a family fun resort. The dockmaster met us upon arrival, helped us in and spent 15 minutes just orienting us to the facility and location. Great service, great facilities and definately will return. Only area for improvement we'd like to see, the bath room and shower for the marina guests is shared with the pool area. So they get dirty quick from all the traffic and there is only 1 shower each for men and women.

Nice resort hotel with small marina, 2010-04-18
Captain: , St. Petersburg, FL (260)

The Hyatt Sarasota has a small, but nice marina that affords you all of the amenities of the hotel. Concrete floating docks lead up to the heated pool and hot tub where you will also find an outdoor bar. Inside, the hotel offers a full service restaurant. There is also a shuttle that can take you downtown or out to St. Armands and the beaches. Full power and water at the docks but no cable TV. In a stiff NW wind, the basin can get some rolling seas but nothing too serious.
