Reviews for Santa Rosa Yacht and Boat Club
Another great stay at SRYC!, 2016-10-11
Captain: , Baton Rouge, LA (62)

S/V Southern Skies spent 2 nights at SRYC - great accommodating staff, free laundry, electricity & ice, grocery & restaurants close by - $2/ft for transients. Thanks to Steve & crew!

Exceptional Transient Amenities - Lanier Sailing Charter - 34' Comfort and Joy, 2016-07-29
Captain: , Pensacola (10)

We have stayed at this marina twice in the last year and found it a very nice facility with an exceptionally friendly staff. The only problem has been the inabiity to reserve a transient slip in advance.

This past visit we used the complimentary galley kitchen and dining room to cook breakfast - a nice benefit. The docks are very nice and power was clean and easily accessed. We took two complimentary 5gal buckets of ice on our way out which was much appreciated. Overall a great experience X2!

steer clear, 2016-04-20
Captain: , Paris Landing TN (636)

I am working in the Pensacola beach area for the season as a charter captain. We chose SRYC due to the location. We were given the tour and shown a nice lounge area, galley and dining area. We were told you can watch TV, use free WIFI and cook your meals in the galley and eat in the dining area. This marina was more expensive than surrounding marinas, but with the added amenities I figured it was worth the extra money. After a couple of weeks we were making breakfast in the galley and interrupted the "staff" cooking breakfast. Shortly there after they took our key and we were told that you cannot go in the club house to watch tv, cook or eat a meal. We were told it was for "members only". we were also told to move our vehicle to the very end of the parking lot because the "close" spots were for members. Now we pay a $30 month member fee along with a $440 slip fee? Marina staff advised us that they did not need transients or live aboards in the marina. The staff was very insulting and rude. We have moved to Palafox Yacht Basin where live aboards are welcome, a longer drive to work but at least I am welcome!

Very Helpful, 2015-10-22
Captain: , Panama City, FL (60)

Stopped to get fuel and something to eat. Strong winds out of the east made it a little difficult to get into the basin and their fuel dock. However, once we arrived they were very helpful. Since the wind was so strong (and not many other boaters out) they let us keep the boat at the fuel dock while we went to get something to eat at a nearby restaurant. Gave us a ride to the restaurant, and only a short walk back. Also gave us free ice.

Rude staff, 2015-09-06
Captain: , Pensacola (20)

Very rude, non helpful staff. Do not appear to want business in regard to transient slips.

Very Nice Place, 2015-07-28
Captain: , Kemah, Texas (202)

Our initial reason for staying here was it would be close to where our daughter would be on the beach and it was very convenient for that. Right at the bridge to the beach close to grocrey and other shopping. We ended up staying for 3 weeks. Nice people. Facilities nice and clean. All the free ice you want. Pumpout at the slip. Manuvering was a little tight around our slip but we managed. Finger piers are short so we had to climb over the lifelines. WIFI was free but signal was weak and slow. Still all in all I would gladly stay here again.

Great little marina. , 2015-07-22
Captain: , Rockport TX (112)

Dockmaster and everyone else super friendly. Showers clean. Free ice. Free laundry. Nice lounge area with a big TV and couch and galley.

Close to Publix and Dollar General. .5 miles.

Quick stop, 2015-07-01
Captain: , New Orleans, La (70)

We stopped here for fuel and asked to dock up for a few hours to eat, shower, groceries etc. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. They gave us free ice and didn't charge us for the showers or slip. Only bad thing was their pump out was broken, but that happens. Can't wait for a longer stay in the future.

Good service and shopping/eating options, 2014-11-14
Captain: , New Orleans (70)

SRYC provides a good rest stop on the Sta. Rosa Sound. Free pump-out and washer/dryer. Great bathrooms, use of clubhouse facilities. Very nice service; Nick was great. Walking distance from some eatieries. We biked less than a mile to a Publix; also, Walmart and Starbucks. Our 20 ft. beam-Cat barely fit their 22 ft. slip, but we were secure b/c there is little protection from wave action and winds as the back wall is low and the wide slips are at the edge of the entrance. Convenient marina and would stop again.

Nice Stopover, 2014-04-28
Captain: , George West (80)

We just stayed for a quick overnite, but the facility is very nice. Easy to get to fuel dock and nice folks to help you out with anything you need. We got a ride to the Publix store with one of the dock guys and then walked to the tackle store across the street and then just down the street to the Aegean Breeze restaurant from there. Great restaurant! Then walked back to the marina about 10 min walk away. Not too bad location. Got our ice for free. The only downfall to the whole thing is that there are only pole slips with the short walk way to dock at, but a nice metal walkway attached to that. Several of the marinas we are docking at are set up this way instead of slips with longer piers and cleats, it just takes a bit more maneuvering.

Fantastic !, 2013-12-04
Captain: , Boyd, Texas (390)

Super staff, free ice & laundry & pump out. 1/2 to 3/4 mile hike to the Publix.

Very Friendly and helpful, 2013-10-29
Captain: , Montgomery Alabama (1102)

Stopped in to refuel , reice , and rewater . The staff was very helpful . While the gas was a bit pricy for this area , the ice was free and plentiful .

Great people, super clean facilities, 2013-05-14
Captain: , Cape Coral, Fla (112)

Popped in when our freshwater pump failed, cleanest showers we've seen in a marina!!! So helpful, very nice staff, walking distance to Ace Hardware and Publix (1/2 mile?). Bike for transient use, very reasonable rates. We loved it!

Wonderful People!, 2013-03-31
Captain: , Annapolis (1465)

Stayed here 10 days over Spring Break. Very secure with free laundry and ice. Pumpout at your boat.
George, David and Howard are some hard working guys who go out of their way to help!

4Th of July week on our Macgregor 26M, 2012-07-20
Captain: , Roswell, GA (455)

This was our second stay at SRYC and enjoyed it every bit as much as our first stay a couple of years ago for Blue Angles weekend. Very nice facility managed by great folks. Who doesn't like free ice, laundry & pumpout with transient dock for a week.

Quick Stop for fuel, 2012-06-01
Captain: , Pensacola (142)

I stopped on 30 May 2012 for a quick fuel stop. I was only 6 miles or so from my homeport but needed to get 40 gallons or so. The Winds were westerly and the fuel dock gave a pretty good Lee. I was on the dock and fueled and gone in 20 minutes.

Staff was proffesional. Only complaint is the diesel pump nozzles are the large volume and require some attention so you dont over flow with back pressure.

Great Marina, 2012-02-28
Captain: , Pensacola (449)

The slips in this marina are individually owned, with prices set by the owners and the leasing managed by the Yacht Club. There are limited slips for boats that are 40'+ (as noted in previous ratings). It is very close to ICW so it is a great stop if you are just passing through the area.

The marina has great views, the staff is great and the facilities are very nice. There are individual slip pump-outs, fuel, work-out room, free laundry, and clean restrooms/showers. There is a bike path that starts in front of the marina and a Publix, hw store and restaurants are close by.

nice facility, 2012-02-22
Captain: , Beaumont, TX (669)

Spent 3 days here to wait out a gale. Short finger piers but deep enought that we could exit stern of boat to dock. well equipped excercise room. within walking distance to Ace hardware and restaurants

Santa Rosa Transient stop, 2011-02-16
Captain: , Bayou Bonfouca, LA- Great Loop Cruiser (708)

We stayed a couple of days at SRYC and enjoyed our stay. The Ageaen Breeze restaurant a short walk from the marina (NW) was worth the wallk. Plenty of good food.
The only drawbacks to this marina are the entrance is tight, the finger piers are shorter than I would like, and the harbor is set up for boats 45 feet or less.
The staff, especially George, have been more than helpful and friendly.
I don't know what it would be like in high season, might be crowded with small boats from the dry dock storage.
Nice, clean restrooms and showers. Well kept facility.

Small Sailboat Cruising, 2009-05-13
Captain: , Carrabelle (364)

Excellent facility, clean restrooms and showers. The staff is friendly and helpful. This is a great place if you have to stay due to bad weather. There is a Publix and several restaurants within walking distance.

I agree, 2009-02-06
Captain: , southlake (5)

I agree with the reviews

Great Marina, 2008-08-05
Captain: , Pensacola, FL (84)

Clean, modern. Good facilities (showers, exercise room, laundry facilities). Would get a 5 star rating if they had a courtesy car.

FUEL - GASOLINE AND DIESEL, 2008-04-29

The Santa Rosa Yacht Club now has diesel and gasoline. It is the only fuel on the ICW from Fort Walton to Perdido Key. The price are at or below the nearby marinas. Call 850-934-1005 for current prices.
