Reviews for Salt Spring Marina
Good and Average!, 2016-08-24
Captain: , Pender Harbour, BC (351)

Docks are not in great shape, but not dangerous by any mens. Power is solid, and they have water at the dock on a controlled basis. You can fill your water tank ... you just need to know when. In our case 10:00 - 12:00 and 14:00 to16:00. I understand this, as any accident could deplete the system, and the hoses are run on the surface of the dock. Staff very friendly and helpful.
We were disappointed with Moby's, (our main reason for staying here) as it has great reviews, but out of many items, including their speciality (duck wings) and weekly special entree. Maybe just a one time event, the staff were friendly, however our server didn't know much about the menu. We did find a great restaurant just around the bay (4 min. walk) along with many "funky" shops, and a hardware/general merchandise store.
I think our next visit will be to ther Ganges Marina.

Very nice stop, 2016-08-13

We really enjoyed staying at this marina. The docks were in decent shape, 30A power was available at our slip and the office had a helpful manager who directed us to places to go on the island. This marina is also reasonably well protected from the wind and waves in the harbor. The entrance is a little tight with a rock on the chart, stay to the west near the adjacent marina on the way in and it's straightforward. This marina is a little quieter than others around town with less traffic. MOBY's pub is very nearby and is excellent. Laundry and showers were nice and clean. Also good access to running routes out of town.

Good stop at the end of the bay, 2016-07-13

This was less crowded that the Ganges Marina. The docks were a bit worn and there is some 30 amp service, but mostly 15 amps. It is a short walk to the lovely town with all the ammenities you look for. Great hardware store and grocery store. Plenty of placed to dine and drink. Farmer's market on Saturday and Tuesdays. The restrooms, showers and laundry area were impeccable, but a little bit of a walk from the slip. Restaurant MOBYS was right at the end of the dock. A definite stop if we were passing again

Good place to explore Saltspring from, 2016-05-12

We really enjoyed our visit to the marina last July (in 2015). We had great service at the marina and excellent food at Moby's. The showers and laundry area were neat and clean and priced reasonably.

It was a bit of a walk to get to the saturday market, but well worth it! We're looking forward to visiting again this summer.

Average marina, average value, 2014-08-15
Captain: , Rocky Point (60)

Stayed there for one night in August 2014.
Wooden docks are old, but in ok condition and steady enough. Washrooms are clean, but have to go out of the marina into public area past the pub to reach them. At night this required walking past rowdy pub patrons. Not the best atmosphere for children.
Farther walk to town than from Ganges marina nearby.

it's OK but an interesting walk to town, 2014-08-01
Captain: , Gig Harbor, WA (469)

it is an old wooden dock marina. We were limited to 15 amp power. The wifi is spotty. the showers and laundry were nice and clean. It is about a 1/4 mile walk to town without sidewalks for part of it. Ir is a busy road. Maybe the Seattle Yacht will put some money into the marina now that they own part of it?

Come in the off season!, 2011-09-01
Captain: , Sequim Bay (317)

We came in the off season and had the place almost to ourselves. Management offered us the best slip in the marina. Facilities are good although shopping is a bit of a walk which is fine if it is not raining. Nice coffee and French pastery shop at the end of the quay. Even in the off season be prepared for lots of float plane traffic.

Enjoyed our stay., 2011-06-26

All the things you need and want from a harbor town in the Gulf Islands. Town is a short walk from the marina. Docks are aging but serviceable. Nice folks run the marina. We had a great time here!

best in town, 2011-06-09
Captain: , marysville wa (122)

We stayed in 2010 and had a great time. the owners and staff were nice and very helpful. Bathrooms and laundry are very nice and clean. they also rent scooter at the office. had a great ride around the north end of the island, lots of the fun. the marine store/shop behind the marine is top rate. they found me a spare prop on canada day on the other end of the island at 6m for $60.
only down side is the docks ar a liittle old. much better opeation then the place next door.

Oldie but Goodie, 2011-03-26
Captain: , Sidney BC (582)

Nwo that Seattle Yacht Club has an interest in this it may improve. Have stayed here a couple of times in the off season and with the pub it is a great place to be in the winter. Watch out for money makers reef (well marked). Can be trough in a stiff southeast breeze. Lumpy on the outside docks.

Still need work, 2011-01-13

I find this marina a little to far from town, but you can dinghy over.
As stated before the dock are old , but the staff is friendly

Pretty good place, 2007-05-21
Captain: , Seattle, WA (437)

I'm told Salt Spring Marina is beginning transition/renovation. The bathrooms and showers are clean. Docks a little rickety so I assume this is what they will do next. We walked up the hill to dinner at Hastings House which was amazing! 15 minute walk to town.

End of the harbour, 2007-01-29

This marina has cheaper rates than Ganges marina. Has showers, laundry, washrooms. Moby's Pub at end of dock - great food/drink.
Over at the dinghy dock there is a ramp up to the Village, the village has Thriftys Foods store for full larder stocking. Village has all ammenities
