Reviews for Salt Creek Marina
Not real impressed., 2017-05-23
Captain: , TAMPA (86)

Took way too much time, over a month for a bottom job. Told me 7 days. Did a spot job for barrier coat, and the sanding was poorly done. Lots of thick spots left on the hull. Yard workers seemed low end. Also had some stuff stolen off the boat while it was there. Yard is accessible after hours (not fenced in areas), and has no security.

Will look elsewhere next time.

Nice people, beautiful and timely work, reasonably priced.

Great service!!, 2017-03-21
Captain: , St. Petersburg (20)

I was hesitant about going here, as I had some issues with them many (like 20...) years ago. Fortunately this time things were different. Anna was great- she told me that to haul, pressure wash, launch, 2 coats of bottom paint and 3 coats at the waterline, and special paint on the prop would cost around $1734 (?) for our 38%u2019 steel Spray ketch. Although Tom, the yard manager was gruff at first, after talking with him for a while I found him to be very knowledgeable. They had their guys do it all, and even put a barrier coat on the boat without charging for it. They did a great job, and actually put 3 coats on the whole bottom; in 3 years I%u2019ll be back there, if I am in the area. I would highly recommend them.

Had my boat hauled here for bottom paint, hull paint, cutless replacement and strut work. Great job and fair prices. Highly recommend.

Honest and Fair, 2016-12-10

Stayed on the hard here for 10 months. Had them replace shaft seal packing and cutlass bearing. Professional work, done timely, at a fair price. What more could I hope for. The owner and staff are excellent all around. They communicate clearly and are honest professionals. I highly reccomend them!

Had bottom job, minor glass work, buff & wax, shaft seal, cutlass bearing. All done as and when requested and on budget. Good people.

After a sprng cruise on the west coast we had Lady Lady hauled and painted there. Great people and a fair price. She is on the hard there untill late Setember when we will consider launching her for a month of playting in Tampa bay and hanging out in St Pete's

I spend my vacation doing work on my 37 here, 2013-02-16

The guys running the place were great and helped where they could. I was able to do all the repairs I needed, and it seemed like you could get anything done there. There was a rigging outfit with a huge crane, other shops working on high dollar large yachts, and all kinds of stuff. There's a place within walking distance to get a bite, but it's more resturant, not the kinda place you'd want to go to with bottompaint covered clothes. If I'm in St.Pete again and needed to be hauled, I head there again. Hopefully they'll have a larger lift and I won't have to back in again.

Work performed is on time and professionally completed. No surprises here they stick to their estimates!

One of the few yards for DIYers, 2012-06-18
Captain: , Key West, FL (67)

Great place. Haul, block and launch price very reasonable. They have two monthly rates on the hard. One if you don't need power and water, one if you do. Both fairly reasonable, but for being able to do all the work on a boat yourself, it's worth it. Everyone in the yard has been very nice and all take the time to answer any questions you might have. Highly recommended if you DIY. But, also from what we have seen in the yard, the workers are very knowledgable and seem to get things done quickly and with good results. Will most likely always use them in the future for normal maintenance when boat needs to be hauled.

Loaded sailboat on trailer., 2012-05-14

I found this yard to be one of the few yards in the Tampa - St. Pete area. I found the staff to be very helpful in scheduling a haul out time. They had slips to prep the vessel (unstep mast, etc.). Alan Shafer (General Manager) has been there for about two years and is very helpful in coordinateing support services. The day I was there, they had three trailer loads before noon including one vessel over 45 feet. Their 50 ton travel lift was in great shape and operators were well qualified. Would use them again.

decent marina, but ask for a monthly rate!! we payed too much for the storage. Bobby is a great fiberglass guy, Les and the Lady painter are great as well. Roger is a good guy but the young guy working there is a punk.

Great Marina to have or do work yourself. Stayed 4 days in April 2011 to outfit my boat for trip to East Florida. Good folks to work with and very reasonable. Left my car there for three weeks, no charge and it was behind their fence. Highly recommend this Marina (yard)

Great working yard, 2011-11-17

We have done nearly a total refit of our boat at Salt Creek Marina. All of the workers are good to work with. Alan Shafer, yard manager, is extremely accomodating and knowledgeable. I highly recommend it.

Very satisfied with this yard, 2011-06-20
Captain: , St. Petersburg, FL (537)

When SC Boatworks couldn't squeeze me in, I decided to give SC Marina a try. I had reservations because when I checked them out a year and a half ago, I got bad vibes. Talking to the guys in the yard, it sounds like there has been a change in the management since then. Everyone has been very accomodating and very professional. Rates are a bit higher than at Salt Creek Marina, but at least I did not get a run-around here.

Salt Creek Boat Works is not on the water, 2011-02-18

Wouldn't recommend salt creek boat works - mistakenly put review here.

Salt Creek Marina is ON THE WATER, 2011-01-18
Captain: , Savanah (14)

If you had to have your boat hauled across the street it was not Salt Creek Marina. It would have been Salt Creek Boat Works and they are a different company. The folks at Salt Creek Marina are very nice to work with plus they have do it yourself spaces available. I give them a strong reccomendation.
