Reviews for Salcombe Harbour
Lovely setting, 2012-08-04

Friendly harbour master that came out and helped. Nice village.

Sheltered anchorage/mooring field, 2011-07-25
Captain: , PooleUK (933)

One of the finer spots on the soath coast, very trendy and for the last ten years has been suffering from the influx of the trendy set. The downside is that the local grocers etc have gently died and provisioning can be a pain.

Town Moorings, 2011-04-12
Captain: , Portsmouth, NH, USA (518)

Town Moorings are well placed along the waterfront.
Beautiful river and paths to explore.

Lovely little town, 2010-10-03
Captain: , Gosport (294)

Great place to visit, mooring in a picturesque setting. Showers available at Salcombe YC which are a bit basic. Club bar and food is very nice. Moorings are reasonable but after adding in a couple of return trips ashore on the water taxi it works out to be quite expensive. There are visitor pontoons but these are away from the town. It is a shame there are no walk ashore pontoons near town

A "must visit" in spite of some minor drawbacks., 2010-09-09
Captain: , UK South Coast (534)

Harbour Master didn't seem very friendly which was a shame. Showers available at Salcombe YC, but they're not that great. (Apparently these are going to be upgraded soon.) Superb food at SYC. No moorings with shore access and the water taxi charges 1.50 each way from the Bouys nearest the Pontoon. Still a must visit spot on a west coast cruise in my opinion. Prett anchorage on the West as you go in if you want something more remote.
