Reviews for Sag Harbor Yacht Club
Second only to Nantucket, 2014-09-10
Captain: , Huntington (455)

We visited this September and I was single handling our boat. They were very thoughtful in assigning a slip and had two dock hands meet me. Stress free and great service. They actually came the next morning to check the lines and see if we needed anything. Sag Harbor is a great place to visit. We toured the Custom House and Whale Museum, walked to the park and took our tenders for over an hour tour of the inland waterway. I recommend Page at 63 Main for dinner and suggest avoiding Tutto Il Giorno since they cannot boil water to cook pasta properly.

This is the marina that sets the gold standard for service and ambiance for the east end of Long Island. Our recent stay this August could not have been better. We needed to change our days of stay and they proactively called to make sure another boat was indeed leaving so we had the flexibility. Lots of help on the dock and great restaurants nearby. We recommend the New Paradise Cafe.

Great facility and wonderful town which really does have everything. We stayed there this September and I ended up having a battery event. The Yacht club directed me to Sag Harbor Yacht Yard which is pretty much next door. Those guys went above and beyond the call of duty and somehow found me five 8D batteries and then installed them. There was no issue with the marina and it made my stay almost stress free. Great place, all the amenities and services and ideal town.

Access Sag Harbor through the Sag Harbor Yacht Club, 2014-03-10
Captain: , Coecles Harbor (301)

Sag Harbor is filled with things to do and see. A little busier than some of the other nearby destinations, Sag Harbor is your gateway into the famous Hamptons lifestyle. The Sag Harbor Yachts Club is an excellent way to reach what Sag Harbor has to offer you. Everything is within walking distance

Pricey, but a great place to stay, 2013-08-24

It's Sag harbor, so even the t-shirts are pricey. But the location is superb, two blocks from town, the amenities are good and the staff is very attentive and friendly. Next time I want to the sunset over Jimmy Buffets boat, this is the place I will stay.

Great stopover, 2012-08-30
Captain: , Stamford (130)

The staff was helpful and always available, very clear instructions into the marina over the radio to our slip. The bathrooms are very clean although a little small, not much else there.

The town was nice, but for a couple of 30 somethings we didn't find much that we liked. It was still fun to walk around. There was a great bagel cafe/deli right across the street and to the right 100 yards. Awesome breakfast and sandwiches.

Very Helpful, 2012-07-27

We stayed here for 4 nights on our tour of the Long Island Sound. The dock staff was friendly and very helpful with info and assisting in docking. Not much for facilities but there is a small town right across the street that has everything.

Great Marina and Staff, 2011-08-03
Captain: , Newport, RI (249)

We stayed for three mights in July, 2011 and very much enjoyed it. The slip fee is higher due to the Hampton location, but the club itself and the staff are excellent. The restaurant located across the street is named the Dockside and is superb; great food and service at a reasonable price. Easy 5-10 minute walk to the shopping area on Main Street; not nearly as large or varied as Newport, but very nice and upscale. Several live in the immediate area, so we had multiple Celebrity sightings. You can take public trans or a taxi the six miles or so over to upscale East Hampton for variety.

Will be back!, 2011-07-11

Stayed at the SHYC on July 4th after a foggy ocean voyage from NJ. Staff and facilities are top-notch. Pricey, but the mega-yacht show is well worth the price of admission. Can't wait to return!

Great fuel dock, 2010-07-29
Captain: , Jersey City, NJ (139)

The fuel dock is aligned perpendicular to the channel, with facing planks outside the pilings so you won't need fender boards, just set up Stbd side lines if entering bow in. Note that the fuel pumps do not face the fuel dock itself, they face a slip. If you go into the slip, you'll be port-to and need fenderboards as it is exposed pilings.
The staff were professional, helpful, and actaully skilled at line handling, a rarity these days in the region. A very civilized way to refuel.

Very well run marina in a great town, 2008-01-07
Captain: , Nantucket and Miami (67)

We stayed at the Sag Harbor Yacht Club twice in the summer of 2007. The management of the marina is excellent. All of the staff are pleasant and professional and go the extra mile to keep boaters content and coming back. The facilities are very well maintained. The small clubhouse has small but very clean heads and showers available to visitors. The marina is in easy walking distance to downtown Sag Harbor. There are many good restaurants to try. There is a grocery store, hardware store, liquor store, bagel shop etc. handy.

Great facility, 2007-05-28
Captain: , City Island, NY (120)

Stayed here for a week in August 2004. Immaculate, ideally situated just a five-minute walk from town. Outstanding, knowledgable and very available staff. They have experience with everything from modest 25' sailboats to enormous oceangoing power cruisers.
