Reviews for Sabine Yacht Basin - Destroyed
No marina, destroyed by storm, 2012-09-22
Captain: , Houston, TX (114)

Had to stop for the night, but no services or anyone around. Makes for a quiet anchorage out of the wind.

Nice people., 2011-12-20

I pulled in while going west on the ICW. Thought I could walk to the nearest gas station to buy diesel. No diesel there but one of the liveaboards in the harbor drove me to get diesel a couple miles away. I thought they were all very nice.

Don't go here, 2011-02-12
Captain: , Kemah, TX (188)

We pulled into what was left of this marina after a long day on the ICW. The marina was destroyed by Hurricane Rita, but there was a piece of a dock still standing. We tied up to this small piece of a dock with no water or electric, just happy to rest. Around 7:30 PM a lady knocked on the boat and said we owed her $30.00. We said for what? Dockage. We said we would be happy to pay something but $30.00 for no services was too high. We were told to pay or leave. We chose to leave.

The scenery alone is worth it, 2010-11-15

Go to second entry canal as first is blocked by sunken sailboat. Tied up to bulkhead by abandoned bldg. tried to go all the way into "marina" proper but it shallowed up about half way in, there was room to spin around. was populated with some live aboards that looked to have been there awhile, and a few half sunk wrecks. There is no water on property & questionable electric going to some boats. Gal living on houseboat said she was manager and charged us $20.00 to tie up at entry way. She did take our empty water jugs off property and filled them. One of the prettier spots we have found.
