Haul for bottom work, 2016-05-17
Captain: , Ft Lauderdale (131)

Hauled here for bottom job, hull wax and transducer swap out. Everything completed as agreed per the estimate. No billing 'run ups'. Scheduled a time for haul a week in advance and they got me out within 30 minutes of schedule and had me back in as agreed at end of the week. This is a 'smaller' facility so you dont get lost in the shuffle. Kyle and his staff were friendly and professional. Did an exceptional job cleaning running gear etc. Not the lowest quote I received but in the end I think I got what I paid for and the prices were resonable. I will definitely go back when I need the next haul.

Busy place, waited a week for a haulout. If you are doing youre own work, bring your tools. Came in on one engine and staff was very helpfull in getting the boat out.

Beware of this Marina!, 2014-12-25
Captain: , Chattanooga, TN (45)

October 15, 2014 had boat hauled and inspected for purchase at this marina. Since boat was on the hard, hired them to put on two coats of bottom paint, buff and wax the hillsides, and finally asked them to change oil. Had some medical problems and did not get to leave as scheduled. But, pulled boat on 12/21/2014 in Panama City Beach and found that the bottom paint was peeling off of the boat. Further, the color had completely washed out from original dark blue. I can attach pictures if anyone would like to see them. Next, the flybridge compound and wax that I paid for was not completed and oil was spilled into my bilge. The only thing that was done to my satisfaction was the hull side waxing. I am very disgusted with the work and want to make everyone aware. I am now, only 60 days later having to pay for this work to be done again. I will be contacting them to give them the opportunity to make this right. I will post again to advise.

Great service, quality work, reasonable pricing, 2014-04-28

I've been in marinas and boat yards from New England to the Caribbean, and my recent visit (for a bottom job) to Royale Palm Yacht Basin was one of my best experiences. The boat was hauled on-schedule, work performed and splashed on the exact day as promised. Gina Marrone and her team were pleasant and professional to deal with. Highly recommended!

Outstading Service from a Friendly, competent Staff, 2013-08-13
Captain: , St Petersburg (50)

The last two reviews no longer apply as the Royale Palm is under new management.

We are from St Petersburg and purchased a boat in Lauderdale. While we were told we could keep it behind the previous owner's condo for three weeks while getting ready to bring it home, we received a call after one week telling us it had to be moved immediately or the condo association was going to have it towed. We knew it needed work so the broker contacted a couple marinas as we drove back to Lauderdale. Royale Palm answered our call. We moved it the next day.

We were treated great from the very first phone call on. Gina, Ron and Carlos made us feel right at home. Gina coordinated work schedules/papers with our engine service crew. When parts issues delayed work, Ron and Carlos shuffled yard schedules to accommodate our needs. We commuted a couple times from St Pete and while we were gone they kept an eye on our boat and reset lines when tides were extraordinarily high/low. The entire team was very professional and handled our boat like it was their own. When our boat developed a small leak after service that required a quick haul to repair a pinched o-ring, they again shuffled schedules to help us.

The yard was busy with paint, repair and maintenance jobs, a good sign that the word is spreading about the at Royale Palm%u2019s work quality. IT was obvious when I was there that they really know their stuff when it comes to bottom paint and repairs.

Royale Palm is easy to get to by boat and car and all the necessary shopping, grocery and boat stores are within a few miles. There is a Publix grocery store and CVS within walking distance (2 miles). It is also a short hope to the Atlantic via the nearby Port Everglades inlet.

While the facility is a bit dated, it is kept very clean %u2013 even on weekends; something I look for at any destination. Also, improvements were being made each day %u2013 older docks being replaced, restrooms being upgraded, landscaping enhancements. They are really committed to making Royale Palm a first class destination and I have no doubt they will succeed. Thanks Ron, Gina, Carlos and your crew for helping us!

Family owned, honest and accomidating, 2013-05-01
Captain: , ft lauderdale (90)

Ron the new owner really knows how to treat his customers. A skill that seems to be lost in the Lauderdale area. I hauled with a short notice for a bottom job and to have some contractor work done. He also did some paint work and repaired my non skid swim platform. It took almost twice the labor for the non skid and he only charged the estimated price and did a great job.

A Great Place for Repairs and Maintenance, 2013-02-16
Captain: , St Thomas (10)

We were looking for a marina near Ft Lauderdale that could handle our 49-foot sailboat, without spending the mega-bucks charged by most marinas in the area. Royale Palm is under new management, and Ron Marrone is doing a great job of remodeling and improving the marina. In addition, the work yard is open and we hauled out there. We got all the work we needed done at a decent price with good quality. This is the place to go on the south end of Ft Lauderdale.

For a slip, call Carlos at the marina office 954 923-5900.
For a haul-out and work schedule, talk to Ron Marrone (the manager).
For boat work, the guys we had were really good, solid and dependable (they pulled our prop shaft, replaced through-hull fittings, Cutless bearing and did lots of other jobs). The guy to call is Danny Escobar (Absolute Boat Care: 954 815-1641), who works with his two sons. They are good guys.

Under New Management, 2013-02-02
Captain: , Bristol, RI (431)

The family that owns property has taken over management this year. Ron and Carlos are working hard to spruce things up and provide good service. In fact, improvements were obvious during the 2 weeks we've been here. We needed work done on our boat and were directed to Royale Palm because Playboy Marina was closed for renovations. Turns out this is a much better option - easier to get to by car and less dusty from major highway construction projuect by the airport.

This is a good place to have your boat painted - Ron used to work for Alwgrip and knows his paints. You can work on your own boat or bring in your own sevice personnel as long as they check in. Marina facilities are limited - One restroom each for men and women and one shower in each restroom. Nothing fancy, but functional. Coin operated washer and dryer. Bathrooms and laundry are on west side of marina. It would be nice to have at least a bathroom or porta potty on the east side since it seems most of the liveaboards are on that side.

We had to call a pumpout company - apparently there are no pumpout boats in Broward County. The first quote for a pumpout was about $55.00. By the time he actually showed up, in a truck, the price was reduced to $20.00. There might be a functioning pumpout and the marina to the east, Harbortown.

I definitely would recommend this marina if you need work on your boat or a place to stay in the area. I think the slip fee is $2.00/ft plus electric.
