Reviews for Royal Kennebeccasis Yacht Club
Great Facility, 2016-08-16

Always a stop for us on the way out to the Bay of Fundy or from it. Beautiful historic building. Friendly members and staff. Showers are fine. Bar is open some nights of week. Marine store next door. Large grocery store next to a liquor store only a short cab ride away. There is a Tim Horton's, Wendy's and Irving Convenience Store approximately 1 km up street from YC. Downtown Saint John is a 5 minute cab ride away.

I picked up an unmarked mooring in Brothers Cove. The club house was deserted, but eventually I found a friendly member who took the payment. The restrooms and showers are functional, but by no means luxurious. RKYC seems like a nice place, but it's a bit faded and worn out, just as you'd expect from the "Royal" moniker.

If you take the bus to Saint John, remember you'll need $2.75 for the fare box. The drivers can't make change.

7/13/14 - Great YC, friendly members, good management.

We anchored off their breakwater for about a week. We are a heavy boat & unsettled weather was forecast so we did not want to trust their moorings. We were welcomed to a Thursday night dinner, watched their club races and youth program training races. We used their wonderful wifi while we l waited out some rainy days, used this as home base renting a car at Enterprise to explore Fundy National Park. City buses 3 & 4 have a stop about 1/3 mile from the RKYC & run about every half hour.
We did not fuel here as fuel is expensive in Canada. We did take on water a the fuel dock.

Limited transient slips. Club house is nice, bathrooms are clean, but only one shower. Convenient to bus to get to town. Staff person was friendly and pleasant. Chances are you will need to come in and locate someone for directions on where to dock. Little white building by fuel dock is the place to check in.

Moorings, berths (with water & electricity), pump-out, fuel pumps, water, and ice are available to guests for a fee. You can contact the club at the email address or phone# listed for current pricing. Showers and bathrooms are also available in the Clubhouse. There is a Convenience Store about 1 km away, and a bus stop is nearby. Full amenities and the city center are a brief taxi ride from the club, as is "Rockwood Park, an 18 hole golf course open to the public.

The Clubhouse is very old and beautiful. Quite "upscale" really; but the members are very friendly. You might have noticed the the Kenebecasis River and the Royal Kenebeccasis Yacht Club have a different spelling. When the Royal Charter was drafted (BTW you actually have to have a "Royal Charter" to use Royal in a name, you can't just slap it on) the scribe added an extra "c" by mistake. Since it was part of the Royal Charter the spelling stuck.

This is the center for transients in the area. Most take moorings though a few slips are available for transients. The club as a nice bar. You can anchor easily in the area also
