This is a no frills hard core Marine hardware supply, repair, fuel, machining enterprise. Staff is extremely knowledgable. If your transient and need something make sure you take their number down.

Cheapest Diesel I Have Ever Paid, 2015-07-27
Captain: , Annapolis (131)

Called Rose's they told me diesel was $2.11 plus tax. Tied up to the fuel barge that was also fuelling on of the large fishing boats. The attendant was very helpful and didn't seem at all put out with me taking on only 40 gal. Will definaely be back here again to fuel up.

Price is right!, 2015-06-14
Captain: , Camden, Maine (741)

I paid $2.50/gal with tax for 100 gallons of diesel on 6/10, and doubt it was any cheaper anywhere within several hundred miles. The staff at Rose's is helpful (I called ahead) but right now a dilapitated vessel is tied up across the slip from the Capt Dan fuel barge leaving only about 16 feet in between. So it's a little tight getting alongside the barge. Picture here:

Rose's has a barge here which services the fishing fleet so fuel is always freash. I found good prices, very good prices. Plus its easy in/out plus good service. Its my favored stop now going to Maine.

solid ships store, 2012-07-21

Has what you need as long its not fluff or vacation apparel. Knowledgable counter. Diesel fuel seems competitive for large quantities

Outstanding place, 2011-06-06
Captain: , Gloucester, MA (806)

This is the best marine store I've seen. You won't find dished and glasses with anchors on them, but if there is anything your boat needs to make it run, they either have it, can get in next day, or can make it. Prices are excellent across the board.

Helpful Boatyard-Even for Yachties, 2010-09-04

We called on short notice requesting haulout because of approaching hurricane. Yard Manager Frank was very accomodating and got us hauled quickly. While the yard has few fancy amenities, it's no a nonsense good yard right in downtown Gloucester.

The place to get your boat repaired, 2010-04-23
Captain: , Ipswich, MA (318)

This is not a marina, but a working boatyard for the big boys. You cannot find a better yard, these guys know what they are doing. It has a COMPLETE MACHINE SHOP, and can fabricate shafts from scratch. If you have a running gear problem this is the place. The store has everything you can imagine, and a lot more. But, it is definately commercial, so don't expect to be handheld.

great all around service, 2008-12-29
Captain: , GLOUCESTER (23)

Great place to re-equip especially for commercial boats - deisel dock & moble refueling as quick turn around on hydraulic repair and shaft machining services
