An entrance channel marked by private, seasonal buoys leads SW from deep water in Lake Huron to the municipal small-craft basin, which is formed by breakwaters and entered at the SE corner. The basin entrance is marked on either side by private lights. In April 2001, the entrance channel and basin had a reported depth of 8 feet at chart datum. On the NW side of the municipal basin, commercial fishermen use a small basin formed by breakwaters. The entrance to the basin, from NE, has depths of 3 feet and is difficult in severe storms.

In 2010 the channel was dredged out along with the docking facilities. There is adequate depth for deep draft vessels. Call Harbormaster for updates.

Reviews for Rogers City Boat Harbor
Handy customs check in., 2016-09-13
Captain: , Westbrook ct (129)

We came across from Meldrum Bay, fueled, pumped out and went to slip. Staff contacted local customs officer who showed up within an hour.

Stores, restaurants, butcher and groceries a couple of blocks away. Staff offered to drive us if needed.

Thursday evening concerts in nearby park.

Nice Facility, Could be better, 2016-08-10
Captain: , St. Augustine, FL (4015)

We chose Rogers City to clear customs after not the best experience at Dummond Island in a previous year. The customs interview and process was handled well and quickly. So, good decision on that front.

Our experience with management and communications was not as positive as previous reviewers. When pumping fuel, the harbor master stated he would watch the gallon guage and tell us when the desired amount of fuel was pumped. He didn't. Rogers City Marina has one of the highest fuel prices in the state, and we got the opportunity to purchase more than desired. Then, did not get a receipt for fuel, just a credit card receipt for fuel and dockage. When asking how to get to a grocery store, he pointed a direction to walk, never mentioning that the marina had loaner bikes and a courtesy car that would allow travel to a more distant, but much better grocery. The laundy room has a nice folding table, but it is stacked with unused equipment and other junk, making it unusuable.

Nice facilities, just needs more attention to details.

Excellent Marina & Staff, 2016-08-10
Captain: , Muskegon, MI (10)

Wayne Saile, the new Harbor Master is excellent. His staff is great. The marina is clean and well kept. They will shuttle you so that you can pick up provisions.
Very, Very Good. I heartily recommend a stay at this marina. Also the Maritime Museum is very great, staffed by people who have worked the Great Lakes Freighters

Great Helpful Harbor Employees., 2016-08-06
Captain: , Michigan (10)

Roger City City Harbor did a great job of making me feel welcome. More than one employee helped me into my slip even without a radio call. The harbor master knows his stuff and runs a well run marina. The local festival was going on when I was here on August 6th. It was neat to see a small little costal Michigan town celebrating. Thanks for the hospitality!

In september check their hours, 2015-09-22
Captain: , Catawba Island Ohio (530)

We came in on a friday, sept 18. Gale warning for sat. Our plan was to do laundry on sat and fuel up when we left on sunday, I don't like full tanks when i'm at dock sitting. We were told that there would be no staff over the weekend so we would have to fuel now. The laundry would also be unavailable on saturday. The staff was very nice and did say that someone could come in to unlock the laundryroom for us on sat. Our info led us to believe they were open until oct 15. The docks and facilities are very good, and we had gone to the maritime museum in the past and it was very interesting.

Well managed, clean, helpful staff, 2015-07-19
Captain: , Dunedin, FL (6425)

We stayed for 5 nights during the 2015 GLCC Rendezvous. Staff could not have been more helpful. Clean restrooms & showers, solid docks, good water & power. Ice Cream, sandwiches on site. Marina is close to couple of downtown restaurants, party store, a few shops, movie theater. IGA about 10 blocks away, Plaths Meat Market closer. Larger grocery stores on the highway outside of town.

Lot of Nautical History Here, 2015-07-16
Captain: , Hilton Head, SC (909)

Nice harbor and facilities. Helpful staff. Beach to the south. Visit Great Lakes Lore Maritime Museaum, lunch at Chicory Cafe (Farm to Table) and provision meats at Plath's

What more can you ask for?

Very protected deep-water harbor, 2015-06-27
Captain: , Iuka, MS (1120)

Capable dock-hands, friendly staff. Clean restrooms and showers. Only 2 washers and dryers, so the wait for them can be significant. Close to several restaurants; about 5 blocks to a limited-selection IGA grocery. City park next door and quaint town. Very presentable small-town with laid-back feel.

good spot to clear customs, 2015-05-30
Captain: , Glen Arbor, MI (101)

Cleared into the U.S. here after leaving Tobermory (July, 2014). The customs officer lives in town and came right to the boat. We arrived at 7pm and he showed up 20 minutes later. He is as pleasant and professional as any government employee you would want to meet. The marina is in great condition and there are several restaurants nearby. My only complaint was that the showers were skimpy on hot water.

Always a welcome stop, 2015-03-26
Captain: , LaSalle MI (575)

Been coming here since early 60s, always well run. Close to town, not many restaurants in town anymore, groceries are limited. Plaths market is still a great spot for smoked meats and fish. 2015 update, a few new spots to eat, much improved.

Great Stop, 2014-07-30
Captain: , Wilmington, De. (152)

Excellent, well protected dockage. Easy in and out, plenty of water (13' at gas dock) Adjacent to a park, and a few blocks from shopping. Marina will drive you to the grocery store. Don't miss Plath's smoked meats shop about 3 blocks from marina. Great meats, fish and cheeses.

Five Star Harbor, 2013-08-11
Captain: , Britt, Ontario (691)

Surprised it isn't busier. Facilities are first class, good floating docks, clean, clear water with good depth for deeper draft sailboats. Very clean washrooms and laundry. The town is small but has everything you need.

A great stop to reprovision, 2013-07-18
Captain: , Pittsburgh (513)

Although the town is small it is complete and a short cycle ride up hill to the store allows all the provisions to be free wheeled back to the marina. The town also has a smoked meat and fish store. The whitefish and Salmon are spectacular. Friendly staff and clean well maintained facility in a nice town. Well worth a visit.

Fuel dock significantly higher than water level. Nice facility, clean, friendly staff.

Rogers City is a great stop!, 2012-08-26
Captain: , Bay City (40)

This is a very good place to stop for a night. I noticed last year that the public water tastes great in Rogers City, so we plan to fill our water tanks while visiting. The City marina staff is very congenial and helpful. A new restaurant in town, Chicory Cafe, serves breakfast and lunch. Best egg sandwich I've ever had! The local movie theatre shows up to date movies, including art films. Easy access to the marina from both Lake Huron and Main street. Thanks Rogers City for being a great locale!

Very worthwhile stop, 2012-07-24
Captain: , Sault Ste Marie, MI (240)

This marina is very accomodating to boaters. It is well sheltered, has good docking, reliable electric power, clean restrooms and good WiFi. A welcome packet with brouchures and coupons for Rogers City businesses is provided at registration. We walked to the Glen's grocery store to get some exercise (and groceries), and the marina sent the courtesy car to pick us up. There is a snack bar that serves hamburgers and the like as well as great ice cream, just across the parking lot that is next to the marina. Rogers City is interesting to explore and there are festivals and music throughout the year. Great stop, and easy to get back on your journey.

Great Place, 2012-06-26

protected harbor and easy deep entry, 2011-09-22
Captain: , Gulf Breeze, Fl (6909)

Town has almost everything a cruiser needs except boats parts.

Friendly Staff, Nice Facilities, 2011-08-17
Captain: , New Smyrna Beach, Fl. (200)

No complaints. Helpful staff, free ride anywhere in town, quiet. Nice floating docks with only a few boats in the marina.

Rogers City Marina, 2011-07-17
Captain: , Lake in The Hills, Illinois (542)

Fantastic Harbor if you like peace and quiet. The town is close by and the staff is great. The entrance is well marked, however it is a bit shallow. 10' feet at the entance and 9' at the deepest floating docks. The staff will assist you in getting into the proper slip for your depth and size. The water is very clear making an entrance a little nerve racking if your'e not used to seeing the bottom at 10'.

A Fantastic Place to Stay, 2011-07-01
Captain: , Oriental, NC (1148)

Rogers City Marina is a very well maintained marina. They have undergone a dredging operation last year so there is adequate water for deep draft vessels. The Harbor Master stated that the channel had been dredged out to 12 ft. The channel entrance has three sets of buoys and very easy to see. Amazingly enough, there are very few yachts at this marina. The docks are floating and fixed and in great condition. If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in. Difficult to find a friendlier place.

myboatfruition, 2011-04-01
Captain: , Hammond Bay (1841)

One of the nicest and best managed marinas on Lake Huron. All services are available, gas, diesel, pump-outs, immaculate showers and restrooms. Walking distance to stores, town, restaurants. Wi-Fi access, and courtesy car available. Custom agent lives in town so you can clear customs hear.

Rogers City Marina, 2011-03-09
Captain: , Macataw, MI (435)

New in the mid 90's this is a fun facility, close in to town. Some good restaurants and a theater within walking distance. Nice park and grilling area.

Very fine place, 2009-06-26
Captain: , Port Ontario, Lake Ontario (410)

Very nice marina. Exceptionally nice people. We came in late and the harbor master came down, with his family, to put us in. If I was in the area I would certainly stay there again. Docks are in great shape and they have plenty of openings.

Rogers City Boat Harbor, 2009-03-01
