Reviews for Rockland Yacht Club
Great family of experienced sailors, 2016-07-10
Captain: , Rockland, Maine (20)

Excellent destination for cruisers from the Eastern USA and beyound. Established in 1929, the Club is a community of experienced sailors with thousands miles under the belt and novice sailors, just mastering their first boat. Excellent source of local sailing knowledge. Launch services available for members and visiting sailors for a modest fee in almost any weather.

RYC launch and club, 2016-07-10
Captain: , Boston (610)

The RYC launch services the whole harbor, not just their own moorings. $10 each way (per ride, not per person). They run till 8pm on weeknights, 9pm on weekends during the summer.

Friendly Club in a Great Harbor, 2016-07-07
Captain: , englewood (36)

The launch service from the town landing was very convenient. The clubhouse is directly behind the harbormasters office and offers basic facilities. You can tie up free during the day at the town dock right out front.

great folks!, 2015-11-25
Captain: , Rockland, Maine (31)

RYC is a great very casual club with a great group of folks who are members, low dues, great launch service covering the entire harbor. Very simple yacht club, behind the Harbor masters office. Most members are out boating etc, rather than hanging out in the clubhouse, but there are weekend cruises, and Tuesday night races during the summer. If you are spending time in Rockland, or keeping your boat there, consider joining!

Rockland Yacht Club benefits, 2015-10-06
Captain: , Bethel (130)

Rockland Yacht Club is a small, friendly club with plenty of globe-trotting cruisers and gunk-holing coastwise experts. The club runs a nice launch, the Ginnie T, that's available to transients as well as club members. Raise the "Rockland Yacht Club launch" on Ch 16 or 9 or call (207)233-2800 for prompt, friendly service.

In the off-season the club hosts programs and parties for members and guests.

A Casual Yacht Club, 2012-08-10
Captain: , Vero Beach, FL (897)

The RYCwas founded in 1927. For many years it did not have a physical home but now shares space with the Rockland Harbormaster's office in a building at the head of the town docks. The club holds meetings in off-season months, runs a weekly round-the-buoys summer race series and various other in-harbor and distance races, club cruises, social events. The club does not maintain moorings or dock facilities, but occasionally may be able to offer moorings if members are away. Visiting yachtsmen are always welcome. Current website is
