Reviews for Rochester Yacht Club
Great stop!, 2016-10-26
Captain: , Sandusky, OH (370)

Beautiful clubhouse $1.50 ft great food and super friendly members and staff nice safe get off the Lake place must stop if you are in the area

very disappointed, 2016-09-03
Captain: , Tempe, AZ (240)

Even though I had reservations, they put me in a place without 50 amp power. Then when I moved to another slip, it was too small to handle a 16 ft. beam and again no 50 amp power. The dock hand didn't even know how to tie a line on a cleat. The worse experience ever at a marina. Went across the river to the Port of Rochester Marina where we were treated like royalty.

Great Yacht Club, 2015-09-17
Captain: , Little River, SC (731)

RYC is a very friendly club with a great clubhouse, clean facilities, very nice bar with a deck overlooking L. Ontario and the Genesee River. Very deserving of the 5 stars awarded by the previous skippers.

Great club, 2012-03-04
Captain: , Olcott, NY (2536)

Near by grocery store.
Docks can be tight.
Friendly club, awesome club house.

A Beautiful Club, 2011-04-20
Captain: , Kingston, ON (455)

The RYC is a lovely spot. It has a great restaurant, and a very clean facility. There are many more eateries within an easy walking distance.
HOWEVER, I got the impression that a committee got together some years ago and came up with a plan to squeeze more slips into the existing space. The slips are laid out in an awkward pattern reminicent of a maze that I played in as a child. I'm OK with 90 degree turns. That's what one would expect. I wasn't expecting a series of 135 degree turns. By the time I found my assigned slip, I had no idea of where the wind was coming from. Needless to say, it was ugly.
A transient would be wise to tie up at the main dock, and have a good look at thier assigned slip before attempting to get in there.
